EDIT: I've put out a new version, check the release notes below. Also consider this your weekly update. Recently I've been doubling up on release weekend posts, but this time I don't really have a lot to say. The release went well and I'll keep working on improving it up to the public release.

Release time! This one should be fun for advancing the story and I hope it's bug-free, but it's likely to have some rough edges. It's also virtually certain to get balance changes later, so don't take in your main saves.

TLS 0.43.0

 - Large new segment covering the first part of the war.

 - Simon's healing skills have been improved (linked to his SP rate). With the right equipment, this can be significant.

 - Orcent has new bust images thanks to Lamsey and Megail has a new sprite thanks to Decanter.

TLS 0.43.1

 - Fairly non-essential update, but I figure those playing might enjoy the various improvements.

 - Improved musical track thanks to Lamsey.

 - Improved new faceset thanks to Decanter.

Unfortunately this update needs to come with a word of caution regarding combat. I had the bright idea of forcing the player into some unusual party combinations during the first part of the war, but this made my life harder during playtesting. >_< Certain things that were easy under some circumstances became a pain or not fun in others,

I don't do this often, but this time I actually scrapped my design for some sets of enemies and redid them, dangerously close to the deadline. In an ideal world I'd take a week to work more on this, but I don't want to delay that long and I think I'd risk burnout. So please be a bit patient and give feedback regarding combat.

That aside, this update includes some fun content I've been waiting to include for a while. ^-^ It's my attempt to do another war without feeling like a repeat of the past war events. I look forward to everyone's feedback! I'm going to drag myself through posting stuff and then take a nap, but I will be back later to deal with anything that comes up.

Decanter

It's time to make Fuckwar on the Fucklord! Fuckwarriors assemble!

Ripe

OK, how do you complete first portion of the war? Hilstara keep saying "This is critical region. Let's secure it first." but I did everything there was to do... help succubi establish magical defense, help another succubi raise moral, help with magical healing, defeat everyone, interact with anyone and everything multiple times and nothing... so what am I missing?

L.S

Current status at end: aaaaheverything'sonefire.

DukeLeto7

The content is shorter than I expected, so it may be possible to get something thrown together in terms of a spreadsheet by tomorrow night. I found the battles in Estaven's portion of the Tower to be irritating, and I burned a lot of Mana potions. Didn't extract enemy capabilities yet... The forced formations were a bit unintuitive in terms of who the default party leaders were. I'd have thought that Hilstara and not Robin should have been leading the ground forces.

Lord Forte Games

I really liked this update, especially the Tower portion at the end where I had to actually make use of Sexual Mana, Dominate, Succubus Kiss, and even Combat Flirt. It had a very different feel to it, in a good way, because it felt more like puzzle combat as opposed to "tank the damage and then heal up." I got through it without using any consumables. The buff to Simon's healing definitely helped during that part as well. The story went pretty well too. Obviously things are still in the setup phase there, but I think you left it at a good break point. Actually, I was wondering as we got toward the end how this was only the first half... And then everything went to hell. XD I don't think it felt like a repeat. One minor quibble, Hilstara sort of implies she's going to get advice on taking the town vs entrenching, but no one really commented on that during the interaction section. Also, it might've used to be a little clearer that it was the unique orcs who were gonna fight the Fuckord, because the first time I assumed it'd just hurt my army size not to support them and even though I don't usually redo choices on the first round, that one I definitely did. Could just be me here, though. Overall, very good update, and quite looking forward to how the remaining threads play out now!

Tanner

Run into an interesting situation. I got to the point where Simon meets up with Yarra and the Harem in the tower, but I can't seem to get past the barrier puzzle. I can get the first one down just fine, then I come across the second switch to get a barrier down, but after that I can 't seem to move forward.

Captain Hair

So this war has 3 main fronts, every Incubus King scrambling/meddling, Ginasta apparently being a mean drunk, at least 2 (probably 3, I'm looking at you, you little squirt) goddesses in play, Ulrissa either on Wendis' trail or bringing another threat into the mix, and Wendis herself being a potential wildcard. Am I missing anything? More importantly, is it too much to ask that the Fucklord still gets a boot up his ass first thing? Given that Simon's full power was mentioned, I'm positive it'll be coming into play sooner rather than later.

WaxerRed

You make it so hard to be a Ginasta fan SL :( But an otherwise good update overall, very exciting! Most minor thing I could have liked is the cool shadow succubus shadow in the background of the FL tower section. And MOST MOST MOST important was that there was Mestan! We need more of him! Always more!

Rising Chaos

Trying to start a new game gets me a crash right after Simon gets to shore after jumping out the window.

Seil

First things first. You're shitty at designing parties. Well, most of the segments were okay, but Hilstara is just tedious. Two healers, one tank one and a half damage dealer, no AoE whatsoever. I am so NOT looking for replaying that segment on my horrible save, no Hilstara, no synergy skills, i.e. no Disrupt to lock down healers and no Pretty Lance to help with killing enemiers. Oh joy. But from the looks of it, the horrible save can now go International as well. =) Anyway that was quite an update. Hit enter too early. Since this was blind, i have no idea how good the end result it, but concerning 3 fronts at the end. Erosia 30. Tower 19. Ghenalon 40. P.S. What's up with the switch 3415? I mean, is Jibbers finally coming home?

Rachnera

Conspiracy theory: The war is just a ploy from Mana Potion vendors. After the Ruins of Doom of the last update, combat actually felt rather easy, including the big boss fight (but that may be because that one is conditioned by some earlier decisions?).

Pheebor

Happens to me too after jumping out the window, as Simon is approaching the shore. Error box comes up with the following: --------------------------- The Last Sovereign 0.43.0 --------------------------- Script 'Game_Interpreter' line 1411: NoMethodError occurred. General thoughts: I like the way the war is going so far. Initially, it seems like everything is going according to plan, then the Estaven and Lustlord ambushes give a real sense of threat before the cavalry arrives. It then seems like things are getting back under control and building up to a climactic fight, before all the curveballs land and things spiral into chaos. It's a hell of a cliffhanger, and I'll be looking forward to seeing how all these threads resolve themselves. While the party selection makes thematic sense to me, it seems like the design goal is to encourage the use of synergy skills. I like this a lot, since it gave me the opportunity to try some underused ones out. It's fun having Qum be a primary source of DPS via Pretty Lance, for example, and Yarra is actually useful due to all the sex-weak enemies and the increased versatility from her extra skills. It's good that you throw out some weak enemies before dropping the tougher ones, since it gives the player some time to experiment. Combat balance seemed OK to me - Hilstara's group had an easy time of it, while the Tower teams found things more a bit more difficult, as you'd expect. I still got through without running out of mana, but it needed some care and the judicious use of Yarra and Riala's mana-restoring skills (what do you mean, I could just use Mana Potions? Those are Sx Potions!). Estaven's fight felt OK to me, given that he's been weakened and it's a skirmish rather than the Final Fight. Giving poison skills to the foes for Riala's team is problematic, since nobody in that team can remove poison and the player might not have the ability to shuffle immunity-granting pins around, since the party is split. If the player also doesn't have any antidote potions, or runs out, then they could end up getting pasted by the poison alone. I like the new Erosian Dungeon music. Bizarrely, the gaps in it seem to be intentional - it actually loops perfectly in another place. I've produced two versions, one without the gaps: https://www.dropbox.com/s/49g31p5lkna8q39/Erosian%20Dungeon.ogg?dl=0 and another which also removes the "slow down and speed up as if someone is dragging on a vinyl record" bits. I strongly prefer this version, but YMMV: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6lde835ge0mdwzy/Erosian%20Dungeon%20no%20slowdown.ogg?dl=0 Random thoughts: I liked Carina's "shut up or I'll break something I can't heal" line - it's good to see her steely side. Also, I had a good giggle at "Fucklord's Inkling is just disgusting". The new half-naked battlers might be a problem for the planned "no NFSW art" option - not sure if battlers can be switched according to a variable, but if so, I'd be willing to try and make SFW versions. Reports / suggestions: There's no prompt to prepare the party before starting the war by talking to Iris in the teleporter chamber, which might mean that people don't realise that they need to sort out their equipment before the party gets split up. This might be especially important if people have just done the optional dungeon and have been shuffling pins etc around. It would make thematic sense to me for the Doom King to be a non-optional part of the formation during the fight against Estaven. Gotta keep up appearances. It might also be appropriate if (s)he doesn't start out at full HP. The Erosian dress gives +100 LUK, is that deliberate? Orcent's chapter 4 portrait is missing the usual 10px Y offset (the one in chapter 1 is fine): https://www.dropbox.com/s/xxkbmmqgnlf0tcl/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2012.07.48.png?dl=0 The tileset seems to be misbehaving in the Erosian Pass - it looks to me like the stone should be jutting up from the ground, but if that's the case, then there shouldn't be a light border on the ground to the north side: https://www.dropbox.com/s/przfcu2i7l921bi/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2012.39.02.png?dl=0 I think this is an idiomatic thing, but "we know some of the outside world" reads to me like "we know a portion of the outside world" and not "we know some things about the outside world", which I assume is the intended meaning. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2vwmfbckae7ibjf/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2012.51.03.png?dl=0 up the Tower -> up in the Tower: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7r1ld8fmruuor2l/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2013.16.16.png?dl=0 Do you join -> Do we join: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wcb3c2qkatjmsu7/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2014.03.19.png?dl=0 desposed -> deposed (although it makes for an amusing portmanteau as-written): https://www.dropbox.com/s/kbzqf6gucrybmyt/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2014.03.36.png?dl=0 threat from Ghenalon -> threat to Ghenalon: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tsytrzk1sqh5z89/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2014.13.00.png?dl=0 Not sure Estaven would say "The Lustlord" here - would he just address him as "Lustlord"? https://www.dropbox.com/s/cx3twvr9wbxrkf7/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2014.41.27.png?dl=0 uproductive -> unproductive: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t2ynb820un7jx6f/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2014.42.31.png?dl=0 broken to -> broken through to: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zhfkclk55bijo9b/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2014.45.23.png?dl=0 Remove 'It' (or replace with "It's"): https://www.dropbox.com/s/u3efopfufyrb11n/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2017.07.22.png?dl=0 dias -> dais: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lopddbdllv9akki/Screenshot%202019-06-01%2017.07.49.png?dl=0 Stats from my initial playthrough, in case they're useful: Army numbers: - Core forces: 95/37 - Yhilin: 15/2 - Tak'Kan: 30/2 - Chalice: 15/4 - Combined: 155/45 (+ retrofitted airships) - Ancillary forces: 65/43 War progress: - Initial: Erosia 5, Tower 5 - After Fucklord harem: Erosia 22, Tower 17 - After Rodak attack on Ghenalon: Erosia 26, Tower 22, Ghenalon 40

MInor visual bug. When the fucklord attacks the fort orcs, one of the generic armor orcs and Implevon the Third are standing merged in the same spot. Also I'm not really sure if there is change under the hood but I saw no difference in giving orcs support or not. There's a small burst of light if you gave them the support but otherwise all the generics die and the named orcs live no matter which I choose.

Hell Satan

Can't wait to play it I need some thing to unwind been stuck in OT hell for weeks now

Nathan Phoenix

small visual on the second phase of Fucklord's Tower. When Yarra is talking to the girls, Riala is the party leader, so she ends up talking to her doppelganger. Edit: same in the 5th phase Robin is talking to Robin

Nathan Phoenix

aw man my orcs went and joined Fancy Walk. I'm sad now. One question, is the last phase before the break point meant to be a stealth section where you avoid random combat or did I read to much into the dialogue. I hate missing xp

Cannali

After Simon fights the horde of demons and you return back to the war camp with robin carina qum and hilstara Implevon the Third is in my camp even though I never got him in my game.

Wow, what a cliffhanger at the end, the next update better not be one of the long wait ones, heh. I had a good laugh when I saw the tower hub party, because it stacks all of the damage workhorses except Vhala. They absolutely murderize everything in a few minutes and then just chill. The ground invasion party is cheeky. Since I'm on a good save, I coasted through spamming the synergy skills. Holy shieldwall/disrupt/pretty lance took care of almost everything. It might be quite messy for people without Hilstara though, would adding Uyae to this team create too many issues? I had her parked as a backup healer for her entire segment anyway. I was dreading the last team, and of course they carry most of the battle content in this update! Interestingly enough, the team worked better without Simon. Two plugged succubi can bulldoze through the sex-weak enemies efficiently if lust is managed well AND Aka gets both synergies, so she's actually useful after a long time of undeperforming at pure physical damage. Then Simon ruins the balance and since benching Riala never crossed my mind, Aka only gets one synergy at a time. This turned the rest of the dungeon into a savescum festival, because depending on enemy lineup Aka + her synergy mate can both be either deadly or half-useless. Furthermore my Simon's a shield-carrying phys-damage tank with drained support skills, but he didn't redirect enough hits from Aka and Riala, so I actually had to heal with Riala. Oh the ignominy! I actually had to learn to use Dominate, Combat Flirt and Succubus Kiss, heh. Good challenge, but I wished I could bench Simon. Not much to report in way of yet unreported bugs, except that I struggled hard to find this jump: https://i.imgur.com/9Aac5yT.png I think it needs to be telegraphed better, it's an unnecessary complication, because I didn't even know what I was looking for and ran back and forth thinking I missed a doll or a path in the teleport maze. Enjoyable update otherwise!

Hell Satan

Oh boy looks like the next update will be intense.

Ah this was fun, thanks for your hard work as always. I only noticed a minor quirk not listed being The Doom King is under-leveled compared to the rest of the party Simon 70 The Doom King 60 Carina 68 Hilstara 69 Qum D'umpe 67 Robin Before Transformation 68

genericname12345

At the beginning my War Status was: Erosia: 5 Tower: 5 At the midpoint (After the Harem) it was: Erosia: 19 Tower: 17 At the end of the update, my status was: Erosia: 26 Tower: 22 Ghenalon: 40 Not sure how well I'm doing - I really hope that the new changes means that the Fucklord's camp attack won't be ruined. Lost all my generic orcs, poor lads. Also: Will any investment stories like Potions and More or that Stineford prostitute be cut off when the new chapter rolls around? Wanted to help them out, but can't quite seem to scrounge up the funds - and since there's only one investment cycle left, I'm kinda outta luck for this chapter.

DukeLeto7

Speaking on behalf of those people currently making a spreadsheet of the 0.43 game logic for the wiki, does 0.43.1 contain any changes other than the musical edits?

WaxerRed

Minor bug that might have been added earlier- Implevon introduces himself in chapter 4 now even if I already meet him long ago in season 3.

DankPotatoes

Hey Sierra, have you concidered implementing some new combat music into the game? The standard music is fine for the most part, but after 50 or so hours of gameplay it begins to grind the ears conciderably. Perhaps the ability to select from a list of tracks, or a new combat theme for each of the 4 chapters would get the job done? It's not a priority for my enjoyment, just something i hope gets improved before the game is completed. (As a note, the combat music in the prologue sounds pretty damn good. Wouldn't mind an excuse to hear it again)

WaxerRed

43.1 bug. There's a floating aka to the left of the very last boss in the final Fucklord tower section.

Blue Dragon

I had a lot of fun with this one - each of the battle parties required different strategies, but there were effective strategies available for each so that they each played very differently. I did end up playing twice, though -- my first playthrough I chose poorly on how to handle the attack against the fort and lost both Implevon and the Impaler. Happily, I was able to prevent their deaths on a retry by changing who I used the spells to support. I've been playing this war aggressively, to apparent success (40 in Erosia, 37 in Ghenalon, and high 20's in the Tower) . Looking forward to seeing how all of those curve-balls resolve in the upcoming updates. I'm also looking forward to some resolution of Ginasta and Esthera (although I hope we can save our dear Empress since her death wish seems ever stronger).

Innocuous

So I played through 0.43.0 on both a really good save and an 'everything is terrible' save. Don't have much to say on the good save that other people have not already said: I like the content and the general war feeling, looking forward to see how all the elements come together in the next part. In the bad save I ran into a hard stop pretty quickly. This might be a long time coming, this is the file I tried to make the worst choices possible at every juncture. I needed to play through a modded game through chapter 3 so I could insta-win hard fights because I was so underleveled and underquipped, but I've managed to make it through chapter 4 up to this point without any hangups (although I remember the Sabitha fight needing a lot of resets and good RNG). For the record here is what I got from the Orcent Eval Orcent Eval After 3rd Arclent War Army Size: -93 Army Quality: 5 Core for Erosia Army Size: 45 Army Quality: 19 Combined for Erosia Army Size: 50 Army Quality: 20 Ancillary Forces Size: 5 Quality: 9 Also, my levels for Robin/Carina/Qum are 51/52/51 (compared to 67/67/66 in my good file) and of course Hilstara is perma-disabled so she cannot help in combat. The very first elite soldiers/elite knight completely wreck my party in my bad save. Robin needs 3 lances to kill one target and any of my party members go down in only 2 attacks. Carina and Qum can't keep pace with the enemy damage in terms of healing, so the only way I managed to win was to get lucky in terms of enemies spreading out attacks and lots of misses in my favor. Then the fight immediately transitions to a fight against 4 elites and I die in the first round. I'm guessing that Robin can't out-damage the elite healer, so even if I do manage to get to that fight with everyone in good shape I can't see how victory is possible. I'm not sure how much a problem this is. Like I said I needed to cheat past a number of fights and bosses in previous chapters to get to this point because of how underleveled everyone is. But it does feel like the fights would be very difficult regardless without Hilstara present to soak some attacks and take heat off Robin while she tries to do work. The elites do a lot of damage and it's hard to keep pace even with two healers if you only have three squishy party members. Just my thoughts on the fights trying without Hilstara.

DankPotatoes

Hey Sierra, its ya boi, back at it again with another dumbass sugestion. Have you concidered setting up a scenario in the future where some of the non- combat characters are forced to fight with their basic combat knowledge, so that the players will be forced to use completely new strategies? Lynine, Orilise, Balia, Iris and Trin know some magic, Sarai must know some basic healing and Wynn could compete with a full player party in chapter 3- Zirantia. Maybe such a scenario might give some attention to the less popular girls in the harem, not to mention force players out of their comfort zones, like you have done in the last couple expansions. It would be interesting to see what they could do if Simon, Yarra or Aka couldn't protect them

Lamsey

0.43.1 report: I only found the typo below - everything else looks good, including the Simon/Orcent portrait fixes. I now lose the Impaler if I don't use the mages to support the orcs, where previously he survived, so looks like the balance tweak is working as intended *shakes fist at WaxerRed* :-P I'm still like -> I'm still liking / I still like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0uflm70fvo42lgn/Screenshot%202019-06-05%2021.13.34.png?dl=0

Hi Sierra, Playing through from the beginning on 0.43.1, and I noticed that reading books in the Orgasmic Empire has become buggy. No matter what book you try to read in the menu, even including "Nothing", Simon will try to read Succubus I, rendering all other books impossible to read. Would it be possible for you to release a quick bugfix on this one?
