Hey, everyone. Check out the new version 0.45.1 below; a lot of new dialogue has been added. Probably not worth searching out if you already explored, but the world is overall more responsive to recent events now. If you were waiting to play, now's a good time.

This is going to be your weekly update, since I don't have a lot more to say. FYI, I might do a quick cross-promotion with another Patreon mainly because they came to me. Also expect some of the future-focused posts I mentioned starting this week.

 - For once, I think there were no true bug fixes. Some improvements and minor graphic things, though.

 - Lots of new dialogue.

This isn't the craziest of updates but it includes some new plot elements that I think people will enjoy. ^-^ With this, the fourth chapter is complete and the stage is set for the last!

Normally I take a chunk of time off from TLS between chapters, in order to shift gears creatively and recharge. But lately my attention has been pulled between several different projects, so the situation is a bit different. Not only do I not need a break from TLS, I don't really want to take one. Once I've taken care of any issues this update and balance is finalized, I'll start working on 0.46.0.

However, with the fourth chapter complete, there are a couple things I intend to do over the coming weeks. First, I'll finally talk directly about my thoughts regarding a major project to succeed TLS. I wouldn't start work on it soon, but extended projects need a lot of time to develop mentally. Second, I'll do some previews for my epic fantasy, leading up to letting a much larger group of readers see the newest draft.

That's all for now! I expect this update to be fairly free of bugs, but let me know if there are any places around the world that feel like they could use updates.

I decide to replay for one second expecting a week of time to get things going, and you drop 45.0 on me only a few hours in. You are an artist, so you aren't supposed to be efficient or quick to update, quit subverting my expectations!

And we're back to the point where I stand on my soapbox and plead my case for Ouroboros 2: Back to Reality. You know a game where Atreyan and co. wake up and take back the kingdom with new powers that baffle their enemies would be a hoot! But regardless of my personal preference, I look forward to your thoughts on a post-TLS game to develop.

Yay an exciting new update-granted I am still super behind on anything remotely new-but more content to look forward to is always good! Since you mentioned your other projects aside from TLS, do you have any sort of road map in mind of when you might work more on Once Ever After for example-ie adding in some of those fun scenes you teased considering/what we submitted to you, like the crossover scene with Qum? No rush on it of course, I was just wondering! :D

Speaking to Sabitha, you only get a Reputation bonus if you've started the research for Wendis body, not if you finished it. Shouldn't this check for switch 2594 instead of 2591?

Whew, good update to end the chapter. It's relatively humble in size, but I actually really liked that you've blocked off so many of the nations... it serves as a rude reminder that the specific situation on Thenours made it easy pickings, but Arclent is still a hot mess that could erupt anytime. Also I gotta say I was super-worried if I'd get enough pron to open up the ancient vault given my rampant minmaxing... and what do you know, Megail bestowed a sum that gave me 5,002,000 in total. I reached what eastern religions call "Smug Zen".

A fun little update, liked both the sex scenes. Only thing I felt was missing was a talk with the cult of magic after meeting THE goddess of magic.

A maid in Cee'Kan says her town was raided during 'THE' war. On the one hand, I could see the ambiguity being a bit confusing at this point, but on the other hand it totally makes sense that for her that war will always be "the" war.

Well, what an ending to the chapter! Not exactly thrilled with Tanurak as neither a character nor a prospective antagonist, but I'll wait and see how he gets developed in the last chapter.

Some interesting reveals here, but I'm glad that there might not be such a long gap before the next update, because this has just whetted my appetite to see some of these threads getting woven together. Random bits: Sabitha's parting shot is adorable. She cares! I also had a good snigger at the Impaler's double entendre. On the other end, Yelarel's mention of a "grand demonstration of Ivala's grace" sounds ominous, and the job interview from Nice Little Girl is intriguing. Likewise, the immigration office in Tarran'Kan could have an Erosian orc visitor. The Order Of Silence should have some updates about their involvement on the Ghenalese front, as should the Iron Cudgel. Herin could do with a new line, since she's been travelling a while now (she's still outside the Helvanna cathedral). Perhaps something about the Fucklord's broadcast speech? I haven't seen anything mentioning that, and I'd have thought it would spark more discussion across Arclent. Sarai had nothing to say on this matter (Ծ‸ Ծ) , Yelarel was out of the loop (っ•́｡•́)♪♬ , Nabith was clueless ¯\(°_o)/¯ , and most other religious figures were blocked off Wish I could invest in Zirantian Cat girls ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ Minor thing with Investments, is it possible to get a summary report instead of the complete thing? This is mostly me being that guy that buys everything (҂◡_◡) I know I deserve this but the wait time for that report to finish only expands with time... Great job, looking forward to the next chapter!

in the mountain top script in the "chapter four key item cleanup" are removed the unused seal fragment dropped by givini ruins monstrer groups, this mean the ruins will be close forever? or the seal aren't used and the "end loot" will be free to take? because if both answer will be no... i don't know how many player can open the ruins and don't clean them before the end of the chapter, but still someone will fall in this category nevertheless.

A nice little end to a very long and complicated chapter. Ch 4 had a ton of stuff doing on compared to the previous 3. Lots of complicated updates and a ton of new places visited. Glad to hear that Ch 5 will be coming along soon! Gotta see if I can sneak a couple of replays in before the next update. Comments/Questions: -Took Wynn's stuff. Was disappointed that she didn't berate me. -Order of Silence could use an update reflecting on the recent conflict. -I expected there to be some comments from the Arclent Succubi about the differences between them and Erosian Succubi, in the Chalice States or Yhilin specifically. -Who exactly is Lilith referring to? I initially thought it was the creepy little girl who has been stalking us but Simon didn't bring it up when I spoke with the creepy little girl after Sabithia. -Sabithia is wonderfully awkward at showing compassion. It isn't something she would have picked up from the Fucklord so she isn't just going through the motions for appearances sake. -Conversation with creepy little girl is ominous. I find it interesting that she touches on the circumstances of Trin joining the party but not the usage of Trin's power, I figured I'd get a question about copying Princess Reletima just to get another HQ staff. Perhaps the questions are only supposed to relate to how Simon acts towards the harem, not moral decisions as a whole. If so, the question about dealing with an obstacle not everyone agrees on takes a whole new meaning. -I imagined that Sarai, Nabith and Yelarel would have comments about the Fucklord's message and if the church attacked him based on the Gawnfall result. Might be worth adding. -Sarai learning that the Zirantian goddess is a fake would open up a whole theological can of worms for both her and Wendis. -The woman in the Yhilin outskirts below the shops (says "Has the Widow Queen actually won?") seems a bit odd once she has existed for multiple investment cycles. The statement feels transitory in nature but never goes anywhere. I'd consider changing the dialogue that she has in her final state or just remove her altogether after awhile. -I wonder how Andra reacted to the Fucklords message. I can see some potential here. -During Ginasta's conversation with the Succubi, what was the Succubi doing out there? It almost looks like a bus-stop. -Ivala and Tanurak had an interesting conversation. The mention of Ivalas 'captor' is interesting. There are only so many individuals who could be responsible. Hester and the church seem like most likely option but it could be Anak or some unknown actor. Her eyes glowing yellow makes me think she is a function of the tower like Ginasta rather than a 'goddess' in of itself. Her casting sound/animation and how she talks about the other goddesses makes me lean this way as well.

Rather small but when the Little Girl is evaluating Simon she mentions Trin, Qum, and Varia but not Altina. Just seems that rescuing/abandoning/enslaving the elf was a nice moral choice that got overlooked

*Looks at the war end result screen* the urge to shout profanities is steadily increasing, Why must optimal outcomes be unattainable!?, that 29 tower score is devilish, so I guess I'll hope it won't matter. Also parting with those 5mill for the ruins postwar felt painful, Like I had just parted with my soul to get it open.

0.41.1 is looking nicely polished - the additional flavour changes are all good. Bugs etc: Yelarel now endlessly repeats her intro speech in Gasm Falls instead of offering the investment option after the initial conversation. I seem to recall you saying previously that you felt the latter was overused.

From my various failed attempts to minmax my way to the 30, 30, 29 milestone in the war I have found 2 tiny story nitpicks. The first is that the teleporter pads in the Fucklord's tower space are described by Riala as being made to stop Rivial incubus kings, yet Simon walks over them without comment later on. So maybe a small dialogue of her finding a way to shield him from the effects. The second is even more obscure. On the Ghenalon front there is the cute/sad scene where Robin laments that she was mistaken as a combat mage by the Ghenalon specialist. The only problem is that Robin specifically introduces herself as "A theoretical Mage." to said NPC at the start of that conversation. That's all, hope you have a good week!
