Alright, new version of the game! You should have a message with the link shortly!

PLEASE NOTE: This update is coming at an awkward time. Since October is still processing, I sent the message out to everyone who pledged before September 1st. If you started pledging before October 1st, just contact me once your pledge goes through. If you pledged after October 1st and want to get the early release right now, contact me via PM and we can make alternate arrangements.

Version 0.12.0

- Completed Aka's route.

- Two new plot sex scenes.

- More battle songs have been added, further differentiating the various types.

- Slight chances to SP balance.

Since I'm done in plenty of time, I figured I'd release at the beginning of the weekend. Hopefully that will work better for all timezones. Paradoxically, though I've had more time than usual to debug, I'm more worried about having missed something. >.<

Anyway, this one is big, bigger than I can finish in an average month. Lots of things to do, and hopefully the effort I put in is rewarding. There are some non-combat sections where I thought, "Oh, this will be a nice little touch" and it ended up being way more complex to execute than I'd planned. This section is the other side of Yhilin you didn't see on your focused trips, so there are quests and secrets galore.

I'm a big believer in gameplay producing the feeling that the story requires. For example, in this chapter, Trin will play a major role but won't seem as under control as before. It's also meant to have a less planned feel, so those of you who like to seek out all your options and consider... keep saves. XD

Secular Reason

In the 2nd Mage trial, the lower left table is set to "Below Characters" instead of "Same as Characters" leaving you unable to pass all four trials unless you crack the game open to fix it.

Secular Reason

You can get around Aka's "illness" by letting her die in combat, then reviving her. She has no status affect then. This can be fixed by making her a persistent status effect that doesn't go away until completion of the quest.

Secular Reason

The effects for health potions and mana potions are just... gone. The Large ones and Huge ones still have effects listed in their database, but not the normal ones, rendering them unusable.

UPDATE: I'm going to collect bug reports until later tonight, then put out a 0.12.1 before I go to sleep. If anyone notices any bugs that affect gameplay, let me know over the next five hours or so and I'll include them.

Argenten

Ok, I am going to pull a weekender and get both the Megail AND Aka routes done as life has been...interesting to say the least. I hope things have been going well for you and that our mutual projects proceed apace. If I need to respond to emails please let me know and I'll fix it postehaste.

Secular Reason

So you can't collect the bounty on "Big Man" even if you choose to kill him. The 4th page dialogue trumps the 3rd page dialogue in the event log for some reason. Maybe add the fourth page's stuff to the third page's? Have that 4th page be the "else" and the other option of not getting the bounty rely on a switch that turns on if you copy him instead of killing him.

Secular Reason

The guy in Jade who is harrassing the girl? His switch is wrong. It turns on Scum Hunt instead of Scum Hunt 3. Edit: Actually, it seems it is supposed to turn on Scum Hunt, but the part where you can find him at the "end" of the quest works because the conditional modifier for Scum Hunt 3 isn't set on the squares there. The people won't be visible, but if you walk down there anyway, the encounter will start. I just missed the part in-between.

Decanter

It's possible to encounter the Jade guy taking advantage of the Zirantian in the alley before seeing them in Jade's clearing house. When you get to the clearing house, the Zirantian is talking to an invisible guy...

Decanter

The bartender in the king's-portrait-themed bar won't talk to the party. Not a clear snub, he just plain doesn't react.

Secular Reason

I don't know if this is a glitch or me being blind, but I can't seem to find any way to progress the Scum Hunt naturally. As in go from Scum Hunt to the Scum Hunt 2 section, thereby going to the third and final part the way you're supposed to.

Secular Reason

Another "possible"... I got 10k PRON fom the mine, but even with Megail already gone, I can't invest it in the courthouse to "further improve" the beauty of the city. I get that Aka isn't the investor of the group, but it's not like she can really do anything else with it...

Argenten

I played Megail's route...and then when I started Aka's it just black screen's on me, and when I started that route first from an earlier save, the convo that got triggered in the palace during the Megail route is the same one at the beginning of the Aka route if that makes any sense.

Okay, I don't know what the deal with Patreon is (it's not just me, right?). I really hope nothing's wrong, but I'm going to move forward as planned. As of this post, I've fixed every bug that's been mentioned to me. A version with all of those fixes is uploading now so that it will be available for the majority of the weekend. Hopefully the remaining bugs are minor enough that they can be fixed later for the public 0.12.2, but I'll be around if there are other problems. I should probably not have tried to finish this much complex content in a single update, especially in a month as stressed as this. So sincere apologies to everyone. T-T On a more positive note, there's a lot hidden in this version, and based on posts so far, there's more for you to find.

First off I want to state I think your work is always fantastic and this is no exception! Please keep it up! That said, here's my small bug reports list: *When speaking to Migail, the word "using" seems to be missing in this line: "How you could do that _ the political realm, instead of the mercantile?" *The music does not change from the secret passage back to the castle until you leave the throne room. *The music does not change from the basement of the bar in the lower city back to the lower city music until you leave the bar. *Leaving the domain of magic gets the same speech from Aka each time, but should probably only be the first. *When first entering house jade, if you only have one copy Trin mentions the "bank guy" even when the only copy is Big Man. *You can walk through the left tables and right cabinets in the magic shop in the House Rose district *The House Jade mine rep mentions that they have need of "professional monster monsters." Not sure if that's a typo or an intended language quirk...? *The dirty (or was it dusty?) mercenary group rep wanders away from his tent, at least after zapping the guy in the makeshift inn on the outskirts. *If you have room for fewer than three additions for clones remaining while talking to the trio in the bar, Trin will make it sound as if she cannot make any more clones or risk over exposing herself, rather than simply not being able to make three. *Even after copying the House Jade rep from the lower city, he still repeats the same line while all other copies tend to go with ellipses or "Mistress" *The leader of the cult appears to either have a twin or teleport between the summoning circle and the collapsed passage in the lower city. *Upon completion of the new route, Aka remains the character in control in the selection area, rather than switching back to Simon. Also, a thought or two: -When leaving people alive for copies, it's mentioned that the high quality ones actually involve hiding the folks somewhere, and Aka mentions at one point near the bank that Janine has somewhere for them. I had assumed this would be in the under-area beneath the castle, but I don't believe I've seen them anywhere. Is there somewhere that you can see them, and perhaps change your mind on leaving them alive? -Occasionally NPCs will block you into an area and you have to wait for them to randomly wander away. It's not likely possible or logical to keep them from moving into one square areas, but perhaps there's a script that will allow the player to "push" them out of the way on trying to move to their square? -One of the members of the cult does not acknowledge you any differently when you speak with her in the merchant's area (assuming you leave her alive, I suppose? And assuming it's the same gal). Not a bug, but these little flavor bits have been changed elsewhere, so I figured I'd mention it. And a final two questions: Does the representative in the castle ever "hear about the group" rather than just rumours? I believe I've completed all content, though I suppose it could require killing Big Man rather than leaving him alive and turning in the bounty. Regardless, just curious. Also, is it possible to get a portrait of the king for the top left jade rep? I assumed I could nab one from the Kingsmen or their bar, but no luck. Edits: Many times for typos. 4AM brain is being salty.

Dagon Lies

Is is intended that Aka sits on 1hp after every fight as well as every time she uses the palace bed to rest? This is post partial-transformation. Also, it looks like I must be missing a lot because I just get turned away by the npc in Big Man's area, and I haven't been able to find the guy in the Jade clearinghouse who was talking to the Zirantian. I also haven't encountered the situation in the 3rd preview screenshot (posted in the ulmf forums) either.

Samshit

Hello, my english is very bad, sorry for that ! Where can i heal Aka ? I complete the main quest and can't talk to Janine. I check the general library of the castle but i can't talk to Yarra, since she is gone now. I complete most of the sidequest (except optionnal trial) and i think i have talk to everyone. Not sure if it's a bug or not. :>

Najal

I'm not sure if i broke something or not but how do you start the cult quest?

Joe Smith

Ok, I am stumped. I've talked to every NPC I can find as far as I know and I can't proceed with anything. I gained access to the mine and have killed all the monsters and talked to everyone there; I gained a key that opened one side door in the mine, but the others remain locked and I can't find any way to progress with the mine. Nor can I find any way to move anything else in the game along (I found some research in Robin's room and the cathedral, but can't seem to do anything further there).
