Release time, everybody! I thought about pushing this to next week, but I'd prefer not to delay TLS releases any longer.

TLS 0.50.0

 - Grand art update: All scenes in Chapter 1 now have an illustrated image!

 - Total added: 28 scenes, 5 joke scenes (52 images total)

I'm irrationally pleased that this major update is coming on such a round number. ^-^

To reduce total questions, there's an automatic event in the teleportation chamber that will answer several of them. If you just want to see the art, you can view almost all of it via the Reflect menu. However, I hope the hardcore people who repeatedly play, or anyone who wants to see the art in its natural context, will help me test all the changes.

This update was a bit more involved than you might think. I was only able to make everything work properly thanks to scripting assistance from Lamsey and Decanter. I've tried to test everything enough to avoid any crashes, but there may be softer bugs and something could always have been missed.

Some scene text has been shifted or changed to better fit with the images. For example, the Robin interruption scene is broken up so that the image itself can be the surprise. More of this could likely be done: consider me open to suggestions.

This is also the time to bring up any suggestions/issues about how scenes are displayed. For example, I've almost always put the art up for one final moment at the end, but if people don't like that, it can change.

In a week when this update goes public, I hope that it will lead to increased interest in TLS. I'm also open to suggestions for how to promote it. Honestly, I'm going to post on my usual forums and r/lewdgames... not sure what else. Do people still visit LewdGamer? Not looking forward to more promotion, but this is the time for it.

This is promotion weekend in general. More info on Sunday.

P.S.  ...it just occurred to me that I never stated in the game that the "W" key can be used to hide the text box. I'll add that on my end, but I'm too tired to recompile.

P.P.S.  Additional note: no need to report that the text box turns translucent unnecessarily if the NSFW switch is off. I'll correct all these when I'm feeling up to it.

OK, one thing that you might want to change... using Reflect skill drop you back to game once scene is completed. So if you want to look at all the new art, you need to keep calling up menu, selecting skills, selecting Simon, selecting his Reflect skill and then finding the scene you want to see. It might be fine if you want to see one scene every once in awhile, but for someone wanting to see all the scenes that were unlocked... well, that process can get somewhat annoying. Maybe you could have us return to scene selection menu?

"However, I hope the hardcore people who repeatedly play, or anyone who wants to see the art in its natural context, will help me test all the changes." Me: "Ah, shit. Here we go again."

Ripe

One question: is "Aka + Hilstara" scene with two of them in Yhilin palace not done? Or did I found a bug? I'm asking because "Trin + Yarra" scene that is listed in Reflect menu after that one have CG...

Decanter

Per the readme, controllers should be able to hide the textbox with R1 button, and it might be good to have some more people with controllers confirm this. This isn't mentioned in your post here or on Blogspot. It also belatedly occurs to me that some people might find it awkward to have the the "hide textbox" key next to the "skip text" key; it should be trivial to add Shift as another "hide textbox" key for PC players. As for promotion ideas, I'm not sure. I do think people still read LewdGamer. I know Steam has some special feed on its homepage for "major" game updates, but I'm not sure how one designates an update as "major" for that purpose. And on forums I would recommend changing thread titles to include an obvious note like "(H-SCENE ART ADDED to Chapter 1)" .

Ctrl To

It would be great if the images would not pixelate so much when playing in a large(r) resolution than default.

Decanter

The message in the teleport room says, "If you don't want to view the art, you can disable it in the menu. It will be on by default in new games or after seeing this message." So the switch enables art when on? Wouldn't it be much better to have the switch <i>disable</i> art when on, so it's on by default in old saves?

Viro

I like the art style for the prologue, but that's mainly because I played past the prologue. I'm wondering if it would be better to make it so that the first picture people see is the Simon x Riala scene or maybe the Kai death scene. Either way, thanks for this update! I really do appreciate al your work on all your games!

DuckTogo

Congratulations! (I don't really think Lewdgamer is relevant anymore, but it wouldn't hurt to try. They do basically no reporting and are just a release/kickstart announcement ticker at this point.)

DankPotatoes

Congrats on reaching 0.50! Don't exactly know that many forums for discussing games like this. Maybe try f95, even though it's filled with pirates Maybe a few will grow a conscience, and support

The "Yarra Teasing" scene (scene involving Tal & Aka) doesn't seem to have art?

Jason

It increased my interest.

Omega2501

Replaying to see the new art. Haven't finished chapter 1 yet but so far it looks amazing. I love how the art follows the scene instead of just having 1 picture for all of it, I also liked how the art reflected how little we care about the Chosen. All in all another excellent update.

Edward Culham

Did a reply of the game, the only scene that feels off is the one with Trin. All the other ones follow the scenes but the art comes up before Simon reads the contract when she goes to remove her dress but shows Simon over her at the beginning of the scene.

SEEQYR

Hey Sierra, is me again. I just got a new laptop and didn't bother porting over my save files from the last one, so I'll be doing a fresh spankin' through playthrough again. Also...some promotion stuff... let me drop you a message.

Lamsey

Just finished a full playthrough of chapter one - everything seems to be working as expected, apart from the bits already mentioned in previous comments. Some notes/suggestions in no particular order: Tal's portrait is no longer shown, now that he's got his majestic full-body hero shot in the intro. Should it be shown on his first spoken line, same as other characters? Some of the scene variants are quite subtle changes in only a small part of the image, which means the change is difficult to spot when they're shown immediately after hiding the text box (see e.g. Wendis Dream and especially the Trin scene described below). I think that using the fading function would help with this, since the eye is drawn by the transition. Is it intentional that the image is still visible here? Previously these lines were delivered back on the map after the scene has ended, which I think worked better. https://www.dropbox.com/s/f5elgp1n6ds2haz/Screenshot%202020-04-11%2016.18.30.png?dl=0 Trin's first scene needs some more rewriting to match the art. This image is displayed immediately after Simon receives the contract and says "Hmm": https://www.dropbox.com/s/txg4igtn9xyzhc9/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2016.47.41.png?dl=0 We then see this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o9fzhspabgmx7a0/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2016.49.50.png?dl=0 But he's already gotten his cock out. It'd be better if the image was shown after that line, but before this one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5jwg8s3pulr58c/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2016.50.37.png?dl=0 It's quite difficult to notice that Simon's cock grows in the variant that's shown after the "And.." line, since the text is hiding it; as mentioned above, I think using the fade function would help to make this more noticeable. After that, we get to this page: https://www.dropbox.com/s/othxlhfr2zodrlw/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2016.55.57.png?dl=0 The first two lines seem inconsistent - it's not clear what Simon was going "Hmm" about if Trin hadn't already given him the contract, and she's definitely already taken her dress off. Finally, towards the end, it says "his cock still wasn't hard" despite the earlier hardening. anguish long -> anguish for long? https://www.dropbox.com/s/ywiicqii56paaa4/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2011.35.43.png?dl=0 Might be better to show the image after this box rather than before it, since the image shows the results of the second paragraph: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jdmkgcwqlo8bft1/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2011.37.46.png?dl=0 "beneath him" is slightly inconsistent, since Cumdump is on top in the already-shown image. Simon doesn't roll her on top until the following text box. https://www.dropbox.com/s/olzvqaqj8tptk7a/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2012.32.17.png?dl=0 Finally, some random potential clarifications I noticed along the way: "create something" could be read as making something out of the pile of rocks. Maybe change to "create a power that could be used in combat" or similar? https://www.dropbox.com/s/w74qbvprh68s8qq/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2012.59.02.png?dl=0 perhaps change "I don't have the cash" to "I don't have the cash free right now" or similar, to make it clear that it's about liquidity rather than wealth? https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ul4knbqiygskmy/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2014.44.44.png?dl=0 "combat mode" sounds kinda technological - maybe "combat stance" instead? https://www.dropbox.com/s/4r39eflfswm5uaq/Screenshot%202020-04-12%2015.28.06.png?dl=0

Greentext Guy

I have 80 hours in the game and I never knew about the w key thing. Holy shit. Also love the art of the hero in the beginning how it's stylized almost like a children's story book.

Charred Heretic

So, first thing, I love the different styles of art being used as a sort of shorthand to know who's POV we're watching. I'm really looking forward to, for instance, some of Robin's scenes if that holds up as a theme. Second thing: I never noticed this before, but Q'um doesn't have any wings. I thought all succubi had wings unless they were naga or one of the other variant races. Did something happen to her wings and I just never noticed it? Is it ever brought up in conversation? Did...did something happen? Like, in her backstory? I know there's...some darker parts, there. Did the succubi or soldiers do something to her wings? Does Simon need to go on a murder-spree?
