This was one of those weeks where things just didn't line up right. On the days when I had the most inspiration, everybody else was productive and sending emails. When I was low on energy, the days would be empty of tasks that don't require it. So I still accomplished some stuff, but it wasn't a satisfying week and it wasn't the major step forward I wanted.

This often makes me feel a bit tired and drained, but the solution isn't necessarily to take a break, because I sometimes find myself experiencing a degree of anhedonia. I've experienced this before, as a symptom of depression, but my life satisfaction is actually very high right now. There's no fatigue, either, and keeping up exercise and other good habits isn't a struggle at all.

So, perversely, it's when I'm highly productive that I feel most like taking a break and just doing something relaxing for a bit, then when I'm less productive the idea doesn't appeal. This isn't so extreme that it's a major problem, but it's something I hope I figure out how to work with eventually.

While I can push through this, and do at times, it makes the core creative work a bit harder. TLS 0.53.0 is still my primary focus, and the Gathering will include some major events that I've been working toward for years. I want to do them right, when I'm at my best. So instead of taking a huge bite out of the remaining work, I find myself nibbling around the edges.

Anyway! Stuff still did happen, and $10 backers got another art post with some lovely new scenes. I made a tiny bit of progress on OEA and started a couple new asset commissions, plus got a book cover, but overall those things didn't take that much time. I was hoping to create an OEA update post for my blog and Steam, but that's being put off for now.

I hate when I've got a good flow going and everything else conspires against me. I've got it. The solution is obvious. The Doom King's Gathering event should be Ogre Sumo Wrestling. What were we talking about again?

Dark Art

As long as ogres do NOT wear traditional sumo wrestling "uniform", it should be fine. Otherwise little old me will not survive the mental picture of fantastical, huge, fat, ugly as mortal sin bastards in g-strings rolling on the floor and grabbing at each other's bacon. Screw that.... Lets talk about pancakes and strawberries.

Captain Hair

What if it was paired with Succubus Mud Wrestling?

Lamsey

For the record, any time I send you a message at a time when it would interrupt your flow to read or respond, please feel free to ignore it for as long as you want, up to and including indefinitely. Distracting you while you're in the zone is the last thing I'd want to do, and I'd hope that many others here would feel the same way.

Dark Art

Ugh... Dude... All that mud wresting is badly overrated. Do you know how much time and effing effort it takes to properly wash a kid who rolled in mud for about half an hour? Since a succubus is generally larger than a human kid, it would be that much longer. Besides, why in the seven hells would you want to have succubi wrestle and wrestle in MUD of all places??? I am not the one to criticize, but seriously man.... I think you've been doing it wrong.

Captain Hair

This game has magic that can instantly clean dicks after anal, I get the feeling mud isn't an issue.

sooo i dont know if this is a big deal or not but (spoiler alert for anyone) but following eustrins independence the map still shows it being part of aram. Dont know if its just an oversight or what not but im a huge lore nut and i also love maps and when they dont portray stuff accurately i go crazy lol

Dark Art

Naughty, naughty! Still, the fact that one CAN clean something up, doesnt mean one SHOULD crawl in every single arsehole, right? Besides, its aesthetically offensive to have something beautiful rolled in mud. Pancakes and strawberries I say.

Decanter

Why does it matter how long it takes to wash the succubi when succubi showering is surely sexy also?

Dark Art

It could be just me being slow, but could someone please explain to me why the concept of females rolling in the mud is appealing? Jokes aside now, I am being honestly curious now. I mean I get it when males do it and females find it appealing (feats of masculinity, rawr-rawr and all good shit), but why would anyone consider even remotely appealing, let alone sexy, dumping a bunch of girls in mud and thoroughly thrashing them there? I guess I kind of get the idea of it being some kind of odd sport, but how is it sexy? I know some folks like the idea, but come on... Would any sane man view a woman sexy when she is covered in muck from toe nails to the roots of her hair, bruised up, exhausted and probably stinks to high heavens? I mean to each its own of course, but come on men, this thing is wrong on so many levels.... What I am missing here?

DankPotatoes

I may not be able to clearly define what exactly i find attractive about mudwrestling... But I know it when I see it ;)

Lamsey

I can update the maps if Sierra would like this change made, but I'm not sure how it works since Eustrin is largely an underground territory. I don't know how much of the actual surface terrain belongs to Eustrin, if any.

if i had to guess mostly the mountainous regions would be part of eustrin whilst the grasslands would remain aram sorta like how gheldaron and darghelon are all forest because their elves, dwarves would mostly inhabit the mountains

Dark Art

Must be a cultural thing. In my neck of the woods female violence is generally viewed as something distasteful. Adding muck to the equation is not helping either :) Not to diminish well deserved respect of any female solders - those gals are awesome, but in a totally different way.

sierralee

Though mud wrestling isn't really my thing, I think it's a mix of generic "wet t-shirt" appeal and the added thin layer accentuating the body. Outside of a few people into ryona, most aren't imagining mud wrestling where the women are beating the shit out of each other. The fantasy is a sort of ineffectual pillow fight flailing that involves a lot of rubbing bodies together for the usual appeal there. For the record, succubus magic could definitely clean up mud, but they probably have slime-derived mud substitutes that are translucent, easier to clean, and a lubricant.

sierralee

I haven't defined this in the game, but in-world there's a bit of a gray area because Eustrin's independence is unofficial. The generally understood terms are that Eustrin has control of its tunnels, and the entrances to them, but this hasn't been tested because the region above Eustrin is mostly desert and other marginal land. You could expect them to gain formalized boundaries eventually, but not at this time.

snack

Ah i see i taught that since they declared independance they would have clearly defined borders but i can see that it might take some time to set the boundaries.

Dark Art

Thanks SL, Hope you dont mind this offtop, I just watched a few vids on Youtube and I honestly do not see the appeal, if anything, those girls looked pitiful and the whole exercise looked to be very humiliating. But like I said, to each its own. As long as folks are free to do what they like (even of others dislike/disdain it) its a good world to live in ;)

Hey, just caught up to current content after having missed the last 4 or 5 updates and replaying from before Gawnfall. Phew. Is Renna supposed to be recruitable by the first open world segment in chapter 5, or is that just the point where she would leave if we copied Reletima, and her recruitment comes at a later point? Because I can't seem to get her now, even though the wiki walkthrough somewhat ambiguously suggests I should be able to. EDIT: Also, great content in the recent updates as always, Sierra! Looking forward to the next section, take your time though, no need to rush things! :)

sierralee

Glad you enjoyed the recent updates! The only two requirements for Renna are being in Chapter 5 and having gone through one of the intimate conversations between her and Iris earlier. I'm not sure if she's missable, but it's possible.

onepot

Thanks for your answer! It's very weird though, I know I had the conversation between Iris and Renna in the Doom King's Palace, because otherwise Trin wouldn't have showed up there to offer copying Reletima. And I'm also sure Iris was involved in a conversation about possibly recruiting her already at the first Stenai visit, though I believe that was between Iris and Yarra, after Yarra talked to Renna. Those details are somewhat muddy in my memory, but I'm sure I explored all dialog options with everyone in Stenai, as I do always and everywhere, hitting Enter until people go on repeat. ^^ So I'm pretty positive there's a bug there somewhere. :/

onepot

Okay, with Fulminato's help I got around to finally use a save editor and check for switches and stuff, and it turns out I actually missed the first conversation with Renna in the food shop back during my latest rerun of the first Stenai visit. Welp. Now I just need to clarify, when you said 'and having gone through one of the intimate conversations between her and Iris', I understood that as, I only need EITHER ONE of the two conversation opportunities (1st in Stenai food shop, 2nd in DK palace). If that's what you meant to say, this is indeed a bug. Though you probably meant 'it's one of those two, can't remember which'? That would be somewhat misleading, because the 2nd requires the 1st to have happened, so you need both to happen. I suspect that's how it's intended, even though it means I'm f****d. Just wanna make sure though. Anyways, really not looking forward to redoing Wendis' maze, Gawnfall, the Erosian war and all the little stuff in between YET AGAIN after I just replayed from Gawnfall on because I copied Reletima in the first place. Simply editing the switches in a chapter 5 save doesn't work either, btw. ^^ But on the plus side, with the save editor, I'll at least be able to actually check secret stats at any given time in the future. Yay! :p
