NOTICE: My home internet is down. -_- I'm getting this release out via a cafe, but obviously I can't camp out here all the time. So I especially hope this release is not bugged, because I may be MIA for the next while.

That aside: new version of the game! You should have a message with the link shortly. (At least I hope... Patreon's new format is less clear about group messages.)

PLEASE NOTE: This release was sent via Patreon to people who pledged before March 1st. If you pledged since then, you won't receive the message. If you would like to pledge and get it right now, contact me via PM and we can make alternate arrangements.

Version 0.17.0

 - All events in Ardford are finished, as is the second chapter!

 - Three new plot sex scenes.

 - Various minor changes throughout.

Some key details for anyone using a save from 0.16.x:

 - Talk to the cloaked figure beside your room.

 - Replay the Givini poorhouse scene via Reflect.

 - Your quest log is going to be massively screwed up, don't report it as a bug.

Anyway, while I'm proud of this release, I really hope the quality is up to my usual standard. There are a lot of moving parts that could go wrong invisibly, especially with the summit votes.

The development period was also pretty rough. This release does not have any of the music or battler changes I spoke about, but I plan to get those into 0.17.1 before it's released. Thanks to everyone who sent me their music selections, I have more than enough and will now just start making decisions. We'll see if there's time for any other cosmetic changes.

The thing I'm least sure about this update is balance. Let me know if the difficulty seems off anywhere. Especially for the optional hidden port area (you'll know it when you see it): I intended it to be an endurance test that forces you to use more than one party via draining resources. Let me know how difficult you found it, plus your average party level and if you used any items.

Moving away from the game for a second, you'll notice that Patreon has forced everyone to use the new format. I'm sure it's better for some creators, like YouTubers, but it is less than ideal for projects like this one. If you have time and feel like being part of the cause, please send Patreon a complaint about the main page getting hidden once you become a backer. This is an obnoxious change they don't give us a choice about, so I'm hoping they'll reconsider making it mandatory.

With the new format comes a new header, because the old one looked bad like this. I will be swapping this one between several alternatives Nomo gave me, but right now I'm going for visual diversity.

All of this aside, I really am pretty happy with this update and I hope everyone enjoys it. I will make some announcements about what's happening next over the coming days, but first I need to focus on finishing the cosmetic stuff for 0.17.1.

I'm not sure how to send Patreon feedback. Hell, I can't even see the Patreon homepage without logging out, not just a creator's. I'm also not super thrilled that there's no longer any feed with both patron and creator posts intermingled, but that's secondary.

Now that's dedication, going to a public place to make sure things get posted. I'm looking forward to this release. I've gotten a bit behind on the progress and I have some catching up to do; which will be fun in its own way with the back-up of content.

This is official notice that I'm going home, because it is a ridiculous hour over here. I will definitely check in tomorrow whenever I can.

Bug to report, when approaching the Dwarven Ambassador about the War Vault, even if the favor for the Unpeople isn't used, after giving the hint for a reason for the Dwarves to vote "Aye" all he does is twitch if talked to afterwards. Hope your internet comes back soon.

So. On port area. Magic supremacy (Simon, Yarra, Robin, Altina) once again triumphs over everything. Was a little rough with those things that like to put a crap load of bad statuses on your party, but everything is weak to lighting and your mages are quite fast, so usually i was able to remove one enemy per round, and while Yarra is a good mage, she acted as a mana battery mostly. All in all was not too hard. No items were used, because once again, magic. Party level is 30-31. Bug. After you clean Unforge, Vhala's status is not updated, so you can talk to her, and she'll offer you to attack Unforge again. Upon entering you'll be transported to the cleaned version, i.e. all the enemies you've defeated are gone, the guy who was performing experiments is surrounded by all the unmen, but you can't leave the area, because Vhala says that's you should finish it.

I kind of wish there was some kind of sprite effect to fade Simon out in the Gardens of Steam. I keep forgetting I'm supposed to be invisible and start wondering why the NPCs are just showing ?'s in thought balloons.

Okay, the Zirantian part of day 2 doesn't make any sense. The ambassador says he'll put forth a motion to strengthen the defense pact passed on day 2, which means he needs the defense pact to pass. But when you talk to the Yhilini ambassador and agree that the defense pact is a forgone conclusion, your companions pipe in about betraying Zirantia and the Zirantian ambassador is confused why you voted for it, then angry at the unperson vote count... Again, he needs that part to pass. Megail's line about getting his vote, (on the Unperson motion,) first also makes no sense with the previous conditions, because he votes against you either way...

Sorry, found another bug. The change you made to Aka's Deathblow is creating a weird outcome. You still do damage on the first strike, but the next round when it's supposed to give knockdown status isn't quite working. The enemy gets knockdown symbol, and the knockdown sound effect plays, but the enemy is still on the battlefield. I'm not sure if they can still act or not. It's annoying as if you use a skill with a random target, like Varia's, it will burn one charge on the supposedly already dead monster to clear it off the screen.

Okay, you missed a quest in your scripts. On 6: Wastelands Border\Wastelands Area Map\Seed of Corruption Zone\Blasted Zone, EV001 you need "Script: complete_objective(22,0)" at the bottom of page 1. You'll also want to add that to the debug character in the Ardford Castle. You also need "Script: delete_quest(22)" added to the list in CHAPTER THREE\Mountaintop. Otherwise, players will start your next chapter, open the quest log, and simultaneously shout out: "WTF? 'Consolidate Economic Resources'?!?! Cheese and Rice, Sierra, HOW MUCH MORE PRON MUST I SPEND?!?" I'm also imagining gnashing of teeth and tearing of garments, but perhaps my imagination is more active than most...
