I will be putting out a TLS 0.58.2 at some point, but I may wait until a few people giving piecemeal feedback get through the content again. I'd like the pre-public version to be out for a while so it's thoroughly tested on release. I may make it available to $1 patrons as well.

Anyway, I will get a chance to take a break soon, but I knew it couldn't be this week, so I've been taking care of some business stuff. I'm engaged in negotiations over the audiobook rights for The Weirkey Chronicles, and though it would be presumptuous to call it a bidding war, it's a multi-party/multi-step process. I may actually reject monetary advances in order to fund them myself, which would be one of the larger financial decisions of my life.

Another thing that needs to happen at some point here is more OEA promotion. I'm considering trying to promote the trailer itself front and center, since I invested stuff into that. Are you allowed to put those on Newgrounds? Unsure. What I probably need to do is bite the bullet and put it on Twitter so that art friends there can retweet it. I am very open to suggestions about ways to get that in front of eyeballs. Gotta accumulate more wishlists.

Hopefully by the time the public release is out I'll have also cleared out other issues and will be able to relax a bit. You'll find out next Sunday, I guess.

Oh wow that audiobook situation sounds exciting, with you being in a position to possibly reject advances! I'm sure you'll make the best decision for you and your situation of course, whatever it is.

I am actively playing through 0.58.1 again and should have some feedback for you once I'm done. I'm a bit into the second area atm. If my feedback doesn't make it in time no worries, but I thought I'd let you know. The stuff with the audio books sounds super cool! I'm not really knowledgeable enough about this to understand why you might want to consider funding it yourself. Is it just having full control of the money situation once published (like earning 100% or much closer to than working with a company) or something else? Also I'm not sure how appropriate that question may be so if that's not something you'd want to get into that's cool. I'm not sure what to suggest for OEA promotion but I'd be happy to help with whatever makes sense. If you post on reddit/Twitter/etc. I can at least share that amongst my friends. I don't personally read a lot of reviews for adult games from actual game journalist so I'm not sure how fruitful that is but food for thought? I do hope you get a chance to relax! I'll look forward a Sunday update that hopefully includes some mention of it!

2026-09-25 01:00 I'm not pushing to get out an update today, so no particular rush! >The stuff with the audio books sounds super cool! Also I'm not sure how appropriate that question may be so if that's not something you'd want to get into that's cool. It's the difference between getting 25% of net receipts from a publisher or 100% on your own. Of course, the publisher negotiates with various people and pays the narrator, which is non-negligible. In this case the best offer is 35% and a solid advance to buy rights to the whole series, so the short term difference for me is significant. But conventional wisdom among authors is that audiobook publishers struggle to move the needle compared to hardback publishers, and I have enough contacts to negotiate the rest myself, so it's a question of whether I think the long term sales of the series will make the earlier expenses earn out. >I'm not sure what to suggest for OEA promotion but I'd be happy to help with whatever makes sense. I get moderate attention in the fully NSFW space, where reviews don't seem as important, but I'm nowhere near prominent enough to penetrate mainstream spaces. Those seem to be only projects orders of magnitude bigger or the journalist's friends.

> It's the difference between getting 25% of net receipts from a publisher or 100% on your own. That is pretty significant even if you took 35%. I can see why you'd need to put some thought into that. Good luck regardless of the decision you make! > Haha, I only wish I could get journalist reviews. While I should have guessed you've looked into this, I don't believe I had seen you talk about it which is why I mentioned it. This does depress me a bit though.

Thanks! Every time I've seen a non-huge game get mainstream coverage, I've tried to contact the dev, and the process just doesn't seem replicable. My conclusion so far is that unless you're actually making waves, you need connections. I'm going to notify a few known NSFW channels, send a few unlikely emails, and throw some copies at Steam curators, but I don't expect good returns on any of this effort.

Yea if you are able to get your books on Audiobooks Id definitely purchase and check em out. Audiobooks are very convenient because you can listen to them while doing other things. These days I dont have much time to relax and enjoy a book. So I think that would be very good for you and the fans.

FenyxSCPlayer

weird. I just won against the heart of lust without using dari`s potion. I thought it was mandatory?

FenyxSCPlayer

nah, pure luck, the heart of lust didnt cast hollowness even once in 1 fight

So i finished .2 ...I like the new Simon`s lines, it gives you more tips. I needed 80 saves and 4 hours to clear the game in hard mode , it took more play time ( my other try was 3 hours, but i didnt do the final lock and this time I did) but im pretty sure I was sitting for about 10 to 12 hours trying to clear the old hard mode, and this time it was barely 5/6 Adding Escaping to almost everything helped a lot , and I think its how Simon would survive. For some reason I only bought 1 dream potion (that I ended the game without using) and was about 23 or 27 sx short of megail`s armor (with final eustrin for neranda`s down to 1000) Still mostly sure I did pick up everything...maybe I left something in the demonic maze? I definitely loved the update and its still plenty challenging without making you crazy. You didnt lie when you said you got ambitious its clear you placed a lot of thought into the history+gameplay blend of what it was happening!

Thanks for your feedback! The upcoming public version won't have much new, but if you want to try the Heart of Lust again (old save is fine), I hope I've ended these reports.
