Wensber

I guess he isn't called immortal for nothing.

Sivart

This chapter really drives home, how scary it is to have hope. Also seems like Jofis disembodied ego is corrupted and will also become a problem

Azrie

Jofis really hates Focalor too much to die damn. Me when I'm in a hating competition but my opponent is Jofis 😔

Zuuuuuri

That’s… mildly concerning

Zuuuuuri

The words sentient and corruption, don’t belong in the same sentence…

WingedIkaros

Man really outlasted a death notification. That's dedication.

When did Manos learn to fly? Or did Salvos carry him during her speech. If so, I dunno if that makes it more or less likely for the legion to believe her. Also, sentient corruption sounds like a very bad thing

Dragonmaster_42

Wow! That's unexpected! But that might be a good thing for Salvos, right? The corruption itself uncorrupts the world to focus itself into a corrupted entity that might head straight for Folcanor (and Reggie). So... A lot of plans are about to get detailed. I wonder if it benefits or hinders Soli. I think If what we assume is true, it would be better if the corruption stayed non-sentient but like this, it might disturb Reggie's ritual, which might stop the Netherworld from completely collapsing into corruption. But I'm sure the timing will be problematic and it will show up early or late or it attacks Salvos before attacking Folcanor...

This must be an interesting experience for Manos, because having someone who is so obviously too powerful to be scared of him must be refreshing. He must be bored/annoyed by all those weak demons shitting themselves at the mere sight of him. She was initially defensive, in a completely reasonable way: "is this another enemy i will have to fight?" but never in a sense "OMG I'm going to die", more like "ok, Jofis v.2, so a hard fight, but I win". However, not only does she have some kind of a unique skill for figuring out one's true motives, she's also completely at ease with him, and not at all intimidated by his strength, unlike that weakling Haec. Manos must be like "oh, is that what having friends feels like?"

I'm thinking about something. Those other demons seem to be in a constant fear of anyone stronger than themselves, the implicit assumption is that they can just decide to kill you for any/no reason at any moment. They seem to be at peace only with their long time companions/siblings, who are their peers, but they just can't deal with the concept of someone being much stronger and yet friendly. And it's not just a Demon thing, the Humans also treat those much stronger than themselves with a combination of fear and reverence. Salvos, however, doesn't really give a shit. She just goes through that intimidation wall that separates the high-level ones from the rest, for instance Clayton, Helena, Orgaf etc.; she just introduces herself and starts chatting them up, and after the high-level one gets past the surprise and shock, they really appreciate someone treating them like a normal person. The only exception is when her danger sense is blaring, because the high-level person is obviously dangerous/malevolent. I think that's why Salvos has a problem explaining that someone isn't dangerous despite being high level. They have a really hard time getting over the danger instinct, and they are all mostly cowards, unlike her, who is incredibly brave, in a sense that fear and caution exist only in the very narrow spectrum of immediate danger, but if something lvl 250 isn't trying to kill her, and her danger sense isn't blaring, she'll be chatting it up in no time and introducing it to her friends who will be shitting bricks.

If this actually turns into a fight (and it's possible that they all just collectively defect when they see Manos and Salvos coming from a resounding victory over Jofis), let's see what it might look like. Salvos still has [Divine Essence...] on. [Flames...] should have a short cooldown so it's probably usable again. She has +50 to all stats compared to before. This means she's a match for a Primordial. One could look at her levels and then at Manos', but she's much stronger. She needs to level for Regnorex, so I'd like Manos to just watch her back against someone who might want to surprise her or take advantage of the fact that she's alone and can be surrounded, or attacked from behind while focusing on her current person of interest. She also lost some clones to Jofis, and she can re-create those, and hopefully those will have increased stats too; are her clones still at lvl 150, or they grow with her? This will be a different fight, because they are now facing an actual army, not just a single legion that can be freed by killing the slavemaster, or a Death Squad that doesn't know what they are up against. These guys are numerous enough that they can strike from different sides, and have enough common soldiers to make tactics complicated. However, most common soldiers are less than Archdemons, it's questionable if the Legion heads even have grand skills (because that wasn't the problem before, other than with Jofis), and the only possible problem would be if someone had some kind of a fractal shield, like Hartia or those two Death Squad members the clones had to kill with the [Claw]. Fortunately, she can rift those away to the [Prison of Isolation] to be killed later. Also, combined casting by multiple lvl 185 can be a problem; not in a sense that they can break through her [Flames], but in a sense that something could actually hurt Manos. Basically, defensive skills such as what Archarachne had could be a problem to break through, combined casting can be a problem, but I would expect Salvos to very quickly break their formations using chaos tactics - clones flying all over the place and lighting them up, herself starting with the Armageddon thingy, and unless someone has incredibly hard protection, none of them, including Chordus, would last more than a few seconds against her as she is now.
