i still dont know what a spotter does and at this point im too afraid to ask (this is gorgeous!!!!!!!)

they just help improve ur shot! usually the magnification on a shooting instrument is not as strong as a spotting instrument, so the spotter can see better than the shooter and can give the shooter notes to improve their next shot. (like for archery, my spotter would tell me something like an inch out, 12 oclock, and id adjust my next shot)! and u usually switch spotting and shooting positions to avoid eye fatigue.

ALSO. in a sniper duo, sometimes the spotter also has a gun and takes the second shot based on how the first shot misses if the first shot misses!

for sniping sometimes the spotter is the one who does the calculations for the sights, but i think that depends on the team

Oh my god I’m so happy you drew a2 holding the gun with his finger resting across the trigger! So many actors/artists always hold the trigger 24/7 and it’s never accurate. I’m so glad you also know this is the correct way to do it (A1/A2 military background is showing)!

we are all learning together!! ive been around guns my whole life but all of my sniper knowledge just comes from what ive manage to retain from talking w ex-marines and ex-scout snipers and stuff
