"What's going on? Your webs are so much larger than usual. Would you come out where I can see you, please?"

"Since the Gods have decided I should remain a spider, even after my pleas for clemency, I decided to take matters into my own hands. It took me a considerable length of time, but I journeyed up from my humble grove to the seat of Mount Olympus itself. There I waited, amid the armies of Chronos, until you reached the summit and did battle with the Father of all Monsters. When you slew Typhon, his corpse fell to the rocky shore beneath, where I was patiently lying in wait."

"Typhon? But... Oh no, Arachne what have you done?"

"Only what the Gods forced me to do, Melinoe. I feasted on Typhon's flesh, drank of his blood, and absorbed a fraction of his strength. Not much, mind you. But enough to grant me the power to reshape myself as I see fit. Take a look, my friend. Don't I look simply fabulous?"
