[Story] Waking Up in an Alley as a Cow (Patreon)
Content
The first thing she felt was the cold concrete biting into her bare thighs.
A dull throb pulsed at the base of her skull as consciousness crept back in uneven waves. Her eyelids fluttered open to the sickly orange glow of a streetlamp. She lay slumped against a brick wall in a deserted alley, the silence broken only by the distant wail of a siren and the faint buzz of neon signs.
She tried to stand, but her limbs felt wrong—heavier, thicker. Her breath hitched. Something large and fleshy swung into her field of vision: a snout, glistening pink at the tip, hanging from where her nose should be. She screamed, but it came out as a hoarse, guttural bellow.
Her hands shook as she touched her face. Short, rough fur covered her arms. Her ears twitched unnaturally high on her head, brushing against tangled red hair. Her body was massive, bigger. A delicate black nightgown—ripped and barely clinging—hugged her unfamiliar curves.
Panicking, she clawed at the door behind her, but it was locked. She had no idea how she got here, why she looked like this—no memory beyond vague flashes of music, laughter, a street performer grinning in a twisted mask…
Her mind reeled. Did she drink something? Take something? Or was it a dream? She caught her reflection in a broken window: wide eyes bulging with terror, snout flaring with each gasping breath.
A voice drifted on the night breeze—low, sing-song, impossibly near despite the empty street.
“Poor little heifer, lost your way?”
She spun around, heart hammering, but saw only shadows dancing across brick walls.
Tears spilled down her furred cheeks as she slumped to the ground again. Her mind felt like it was unspooling, memories slipping through her fingers like water. She couldn’t even remember her own name.
All she knew was that she was trapped in a body that wasn’t hers.
