Astro Bot. That’s a good game

Games as a service is best when it wasn't the developer's intention. Deep rock galactic was a project they expected to just put out and drop, but people loved it so they stuck with it for years. When a game was designed to be a game as a service, it shows, and it generally doesn't make the game look better

I was in the market for a PS5 pro until I saw the price tag. I play games on the couch and I know I could plug a PC into my TV and have done that in the past but these days I would rather just plug a box in a TV and be done. I might cough up the $700 if it came with a disk drive because I still sometimes use mine. Not including the stand on a $700 console is just stingy

I made my 8 year old aware of you recently. He saw a video of you playing “8-bit Nintendo” games on YouTube. More specifically the Beetlejuice game. He asked me “why is this old man ranking Nintendo games?” I told him not to watch you anymore unless I’m in the room because you curse a lot. Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for in spreading the word.

But Days Gone was cool 😭

Keep doing what you are doing Jeff! Genuine highlight of my week listening to the pod. Plenty of time to do nore when the kids are older!

Anecdotal but I would have probably bought star wars outlaw if it was on Steam. I hate Uplay, Ubisoft doesn't care about game preservation at all, and if I pay $60 for a game I'd like a chance to refund it if it is garbage or doesn't run on my machine

Indie games won't "save the industry" but at the same time no matter how bad shit gets, there will always be indie games doing something the industry at large won't, which is good.
