Special Power Outage Podcast (11/12/2024) (Patreon)

Naturally, they'd schedule maintenance on a Tuesday. There are many bored men standing out outside my house in hi-vis vests while loud trucks stay running and a piece of equipment called a "Ditch Witch" slowly rolls up and down the street doing things.

This was originally something I was going to try to do using Patreon's new "live audio" setup, which lets you broadcast live audio into a chat room. To do this, I had to launch a chat room, which is still live as of this writing but I think I'm going to wind it down to keep the discussion focused on Discord, rather than have a smaller spot that might go a little too unmoniitored for my tastes. People then joined the chat this morning and wondered what the heck was happening, because apparently it wasn't properly showing them the live audio player. That kinda defeats the whole purpose of this, so... well, it's a good thing I still pay Mixlr $10/month for the privilege of occasionally streaming audio to their platform.

I ended up talking to the live chat(s) about capture gear and the Nintendo 64 for about an hour, and here's the archive of that! The regular podcast will happen tomorrow morning, barring any more weird public utility issues. Happy Infrastructure Week to you all.
