I disagree with the idea that award show don't matter. Publishers use that title to sell their games. If the games don't sell, they make less of them. I agree that it's a bad thing for Sony conglomerate to grow. It would've been great to hear this opinion about MS buying Activision (I'm not implying a bias). Any time companies expand, ppl loose their jobs, the costumers' control reduces.

In general I think acquisitions are bad, but Sony acquiring FromSoft is worse than Microsoft acquiring Bethesda imo, simply because Microsoft has been moving away from exclusives. Sony might put a game on pc 2 years later if they feel like it, Microsoft puts it on PC day 1, and their stance on putting games like Halo on Playstation is "Maybe!" whereas Sony would never do the inverse. If Sony gets FromSoft, we very well might live in a world where every FromSoft game is Bloodborne. I single out Bethesda for the MS acquisition because I think Activision was already under dogshit management and Blizzard had been on an extreme downward trend for a long time, so it couldn't really get any worse under Microsoft.

Console is supposed to be the easy no nonsense way to play games, but increasingly console players are having to deal with dogshit like their pro model making games look worse. I think Microsoft sees the writing on the wall here and is trying to pivot early while Sony is digging in their heels, but if Sony wants to keep consoles alive they need to try a lot harder man.
