Switch 2 Nintendo Direct Watchalong (Patreon)

I suspect a lot of us will spend the next week connecting some of the weird pricing news that came out this morning to tariffs and other not-necessarily-Nintendo's-fault financial realities, but now that some hours have passed, I gotta say the software pricing still isn't sitting super well. Hmm.
An interesting showing, for sure. I'm not sure that there's any "right" way to unveil a console, everyone will have different expectations as to what should be part of the show and what should be left for later. But the relatively small number of first-party games discussed here has been the prevailing bit of info sticking with me so far. Considering the somewhat sluggish pace of big releases on the "old" Switch and the company's willingness to discuss other games that aren't even out this year, it does seem like there could/should have been one more big Nintendo-ass Nintendo game in this video.
Ultimately a console is rarely defined by its unveiling, though. Really, only the Xbox One comes to mind as a system defined by its earliest information. It'll launch, it'll sell out of the gate just fine, and people will probably forget about what today's video did or didn't have. That doesn't mean it'll be a smash hit or anything, just that at this point, I'm left feeling like I want more information about what's next? Anyway, see ya soon, we'll have plenty of time to pick all this apart on the podcast next week.
