Here's MindsEye, a new release that seems to be mostly known for the way the studio behind it started claiming there was a conspiracy and that people were being paid to talk negatively about their game. A truly wild claim... or is it?!?!!?!?

Anyway, this is the PC version. I haven't really had any technical issues with it, which is what their upcoming hotfix seems to be focusing on. I think my issue is that this vaguely GTA-like mission-based thing is subpar at best, with surprisingly dull action and long cutscenes that make you think "wow, someone really thought this game needed all this, huh?"

MindsEye: What The Heck Is This?

If you can determine how many times the phrase "Call Rigby" is uttered in this game, maybe you'll win a prize? I mean probably not, but that's gotta be a pretty high number, I'd think. Anyway, here's a look at MindsEye running on a PC with a 5090 in it. Performance seems fine on this end, but that's the least of this game's issues. “it’s like whatever” (paraphrasing) is somehow the most damning thing I can imagine for a Video Game intended to make me scream “I ALSO NEED THE BENZ!!!”

I've been paid by the Illuminati to come here and tell all of you that this game sucks.

In the 90s there was a production company, Imperial Entertainment, that made a bunch of low-budget, mostly direct-to-video films with clunky dialogue and acting like Ninja Strike Force, a few Van Dammes and the Double Dragon movie. They also made a sci-film called Nemesis with Tim Thomerson, Brion James and Olivier Gruner saying things like “break the law, go to Hell.” I loved those movies back then. Mindseye reminded me of all this and I feel so old.

I love how very early on they say “you work for one of the largest electric vehicle manufacturers in the world!” And then proceed to give you a gas car

This kind of reminded me of the Saints Row reboot. This big open world that I don’t want to explore and just very boring and uninteresting to play. I feel like even that is better than this.
