Quick Look: FBC: Firebreak (Patreon)

FBC: Firebreak is a three-player co-op shooter set in the world of Control. Here's a look at the PC version, which due to some weirdness that happened while this was initially streamed, runs a little weird for the first minute or so it's on-screen. It'll pass.

I find myself wanting to like this game, it contains just enough of the Control aesthetic to keep me paying attention. But the more time I spend looking at the game's upgrade path and how long it'll take to get the right versions of the right guns and right perks, I'm not sure that I'll stick with it. The way the game rolls out its variety is too slow and, well, not varied enough.

As for the streaming weirdness, I think I'm going to drop out of the Twitch Enhanced Broadcasting 1440p beta and go back to 1080p streaming, just to eliminate one variable. Past that it'll be me staring at bandwidth and OBS logs and encoder loads and... yeah. Fun, right? Technology is fun!
