Quick Look: Roblox (Patreon)

After talking about it on the bonus podcast earlier today, it made sense to check back in on Roblox and see what the heck it even is in 2025. With some guidance from the live chat, here's a look at a handful of first-person shooters, "obbys," and a little fashion.

Getting a closer look at the way Roblox experiences monetize across different genres and ideas has been a real eye-opener for me today. Definitely left this session feeling, like, impressed by the variety of things that have been made inside of Roblox and also really dismayed by the ways these different things try to get you to spend money. Some pretty filthy stuff in here. Not to get all "as a parent" about this stuff, but as a parent I'm thinking I'll probably be a little more vigilant when and if the topic of Roblox comes home from school one of these days.
