The Battlefield 6 beta’s first open beta weekend has come and gone, what did you think? Let’s talk about it! Also: How young is too young to get your ears pierced? Plus: Xbox seems to walk away from Contraband, Nightdive does a Nightdive thing to Heretic and Hexen, Sony CFO talks about the PlayStation live service story so far, don’t expect Dragon Age remasters anytime soon, and the weird info behind access to Switch 2 devkits.

I’ve played most BF games. Bad Company 2 and BF4 were my favorite. I did not like 2042. I played BF4 since release until I finally stopped early last year. The beta for BF6 made me feel mostly awful in terms of my skill, but I had so much fun playing it and passing the controller back and forth with my 11 year old son. I’m very excited for it.

Re: ear piercing, I think I was 5 when I had mine done (late 80s)? I don't recall if I wanted them pierced, I think I was interested because other girls in school had pierced ears, but not, like, super excited/always asking about it? I remember picking out which earrings I would get, but once they sat me in the chair to do the deed I was TERRIFIED. I remember screaming absolute bloody murder, to the point my mom had to take me out of the store (it was like a Claire's or something in the mall) and pretty much bribe me by promising to get one of those giant cookies after if I would get them done. Once it was done I was fine, and I was old enough to be responsible enough with doing all the cleaning they instructed me to do, and I liked being able to wear real earrings instead of stick-on ones, but I always swore (and still do!) that if/when I had kids I would not go about getting their ears pierced the same way. Good to hear that your daughter was not only excited about the idea, but handled getting it done much better than I did!

I run two games at the same time all the time. It's just so that while there is downtime on one game, i can play the other and vice versa. Usually this happens with MMOs or games with long lobby wait times, where I'll queue that up as my primary and then run like a clicker or an idle game in the background. While i'm in the queue, or waiting for something to craft, i go play the secondary game. Once the queue pops, i go back to the primary. But the secondary can be any game as long as it allows me to drop out of the game at any point. I've even run two MMOs at the same time, like WoW + FF14 when i'm questing in FF14 and queued up for dungeons in WoW.
