Quick Look: Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection (Patreon)

Hey, this collection of Mortal Kombat games came out! Here's a look at it, it's a pretty neat group of MK games including the first four arcade games and an absolute mess of console and handheld ports. Want to play the Game Gear version of MK1? I mean, no, you probably don't, but you absolutely can! Want to play the 32X version of MK2? Online????? Do it!

It even has Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero (neat!) and Mortal Kombat Special Forces (yikes!) in there. It's been interesting seeing the general reaction to the game list because I both understand why people would want some newer MK games in here and I also understand that emulating anything newer than the PS1 or GBA that they've got in here would actually be a pretty big effort for a commercial product. Maybe they'll make another one and focus on the PS2/Xbox era, but... I mean... I doubt it. At most I'd think it to be at least possible that Shaolin Monks could get re-released someday, in some form.

Like a lot of other recent Digital Eclipse releases, this one also has a full-on documentary that gets into the behind-the-scenes stories about its development. They asked me to contribute to this, and I was happy to say yes. We did the interview remotely, so you will probably be familiar with the camera shot and "set" we used.
