Some follow-up thoughts based on the Marathon review that ran yesterday along with a discussion of risk and stakes in modern games. Also: some electric vehicle talk, a little MiSTer 3DO discussion (video of that to follow), and more.

Hmm. Is Patreon forcing users to use their app to listen to audio a new thing?

For what its worth, this showed up in my apple podcasts feed

Hmm. Can't seem to listen to this.

Although you can just download - so I guess that works.

Screamer takes a risk and I think largely pays off for me. Not sure how financially successful it’ll be though

Shane

Yeah, this has been happening with Jeff's podcasts for weeks. Doesn't happen to other Patreons I subscribe to, though.

I'm not really sure what you're referring to here. Are you using the RSS feed to listen in another podcast player and _that_ isn't working anymore? Nothing's changed on this end so I'm not sure what to look for.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. Most of the time I would use the built-in player at the top of the page in a browser to listen to the podcasts. Now when I click on the player, a pop-up appears telling me to use the Patreon app. It's not that big of a deal since I can download the podcast, but it seemed out of the blue.
