This month we find ourselves digging back even earlier into the Commodore 64 catalog with the 1984 classic, Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee, billed by its publisher as an "Action/Strategy" game, is a platformer with a more open-ended world than many of the games that came out back in those days. Once you really break it down (and this video really does break it down a bit) it's a fairly straightforward path from start to finish. But Bruce Lee was one of those games that always felt deceptively large. Expansive, even. It's a game I still return to time and time again for a quick playthrough.

In addition to the C64 version of the game, I'm also going to take a look at a much more recent release, the 2015 homebrew port of Bruce Lee to the Sega Master System. What a cool version this turned out to be. Find it online and add it to your collection, it's an accurate version of the game with light updates to the movement and controls that probably make it a more pleasurable experience for the modern player.

Thanks to all of you for your support here, I hope you're enjoying the Hot Bonus Content here on Patreon as well as all the streams and podcasts and so on. Tell a friend, let 'em know, and the Hall will be back next month... probably with something that wasn't originally released on the C64!

Hi, just catching up on the Hall of Fame vids. I remember playing this, I probably did not get past the second screen. I miss my C64.

Shouldn’t this be 003?

I keep confusing this game with the Chuck Norris game

I can't even imagine how much I played the Speccy version of this, back in the day.

Man I never had a C64, but a buddy from school used to have 1 and I would spend as much time as I could playing this game.

All non-NES games were so exotic to me as a kid. I love this series.
