Miner 2049er was originally released on the Atari 400/800 back in 1982. It's a platformer that brings in some Pac-Man-esque elements as well as... well, let's call it an element from Amidar? Either way, this platformer is a stone cold classic and is, as I found out while recording this, way more important to me than just about any other video game out there. In 1984 it spawned a sequel, Bounty Bob Strikes Back!, and this follow-up is amazing in every way. Rather than split the story into two pieces, both games are represented and inducted here.

I don't think I expected retelling the flood story to kinda creep up and get me the way it kinda did here in this video. It's a story I've told a dozen times, but somehow grounding it in this specific game and memory brought a lot of crazy stuff rushing back.

I'll put an unlisted YouTube link here when it's ready. Thanks for having my back on all this, it's been a really frustrating month of being sick while wanting to provide more cool videos and get things done for you to watch. Thanks for sticking with me, tell your friends and so on, and I'll see you soon.

This was a great video. I'm glad to hear you and your family are doing better. From what you mentioned at the end I would love to see a stream comparing the different versions of Miner 2049er. Take care Jeff.

One of my favorite games as a kid in the Atari 400/800 also. Your history with it was incredible to hear. All the best Jeff.

I grew up with an Atari 400 and Miner 2049 was one of my favourites, but I had no idea there was a sequel. Thanks for bringing this back into my memory and for sharing your stories.
