I don't expect everyone to feel this way, but due to the events of 1994-1996 I am still scarred by the word "multimedia." I feel woozy whenever I think about anyone installing a copy of Macromedia Director. Thankfully, we made it through these dark times and can look back upon them and laugh. Glenn Rubenstein and I join forces once again to talk about Commodore's first consolized Amiga, Phillips' entry into video games, and the power of Forrest Gump.

As a youth, most of my childhood interactions with these multimedia consoles were watching late-night infomercials on them and being flabbergasted that there's cartoon-looking Zelda and Mario titles not available on Nintendo hardware. Also the magazine coverage which wasn't much, but I remember seeing the prices for hardware and games listed in the mail catalog portions and thinking "wow, this must be how the weathy game". My lone experience with one was playing Gex on a 3DO at ZAPPERS - a local chain of video rental stores that would also let you play any game you chose on any system you choose for the low cost of fifty cents for ever 10 or maybe even 15 minutes. I remember absolutely hating the feel of the controller but loving the graphics and sound in a time before I transitioned away from SNES to the eventual Gex-filled pastures of the Sega Saturn.

Sorry if I missed it, we ditching video for this one, or the series? Do not really know why I am asking, video is just a nice excuse to not do anything while catching the episode. I am going to feel compelled to do stuff while listening now, nothing good can come from that. That said, thanks for the ep!
