As we enter a June window with no E3, it feels especially opportune to  be discussing the very last Consumer Electronics Show that mattered for  the game industry. The first E3 would solidify and debut later the same  year, but before that, we have this. This is the show where Nintendo  made Star Fox 2 seem like one of the hottest upcoming releases in the  world. It's the show where the Virtual Boy made its domestic debut. It's  the show where Penn & Teller were supposedly shipping a Sega CD  game! It's also an intensely tumultuous time in video games--the  PlayStation was out in Japan and the Saturn was on display, but neither  had solid US release plans just yet. Nintendo was desperately trying to  get people to care about Super FX2 games while they scrambled to get the  Ultra 64 project together. Atari and 3DO were still... I don't know,  they existed. Even the Neo Geo CD reared its head here in '95. Meanwhile  Jeff was about to find himself out of a job while Glenn was trying to  help executives understand why Hell wasn't such a big deal.
