Is the only way to visit Selena just through RNG when you sleep? Because I downloaded the new version and I am not getting any of the events where you visit her in your dreams at all, and I was getting them in the previous versions.

Lunaraia

You still need to equip the succubus ring to visit Selena in your sleep. That aside can't seem to advance her relationship further even though I follow instructions.

L

In the dev edition we can play as the enemies ?

anyszek

selena quest have bug

Johnny Bobart

Yeah, get caught in an endless loop in the selena event.

Lunaraia

Selena's Level resets when she rejoins your party if she levels up while adventuring. Furthermore, you can never progress past the 'Battle more Foes' stage of her relationship.

Chris Simon

Also it looks like her health does not regenerate the next time you take her out. Plus I think she actually doesn't DO anything during the battle, but I'm not sure if in general or just when her health is at 1HP

Lunaraia

She does attack, but since she is level 1.... yeah you get the point. She also has a nasty habit of spamming Charm. Which only gives the enemy a speed boost if monster lewds are turned off in the settings. Which is basically mandatory to do if you want to train her since you will be spending 99% of battle time bound if you don't since her charm is AoE. This speed boost is also a borderline autoloss vs the Mimic.

TipTap

Please add an ability where after you get free from a grab, you cannot be grabbed until you've had your next turn. It is so frustrating when you get free from a grab, only for the same enemy to hit you, then grab you again before you've had another turn. That kind of frustration is only made way worse with Selena in the party since charming the enemy gives them a speed boost for some reason, and she uses charm at the worst time (also now that I've gotten further in her events, battling enemies with her isn't doing anything despite that being the advice from the crystal ball and she goes back down to level 60 whenever she leaves the party).

Lunaraia

Post Bugfix patch: Fortune Teller still says I need to battle enemies with Selena to deepen my bond with her, her bond won't go higher and her level is max, I can't really go further than this :\

townofmagic

There are no more events with Selena. The fortune-teller is not correct here, Check the available events at the Quests screen.

Lunaraia

I did see there were no more events was just about to edit my post to say that. And since the event thingy isn't bugged that means this message is. BTW, what's the chance of getting the unique items out of the mystery boxes? L sold them for more than I could pay a few times and after that, they have only given consumables, aside from one cog.

TipTap

I'm sorry to say, but I don't think I can support this game anymore. There is far too much grinding, and the combat itself is extremely frustrating. It's gotten to the point where just getting to the new content can take hours and is miserable nearly every stretch of the way. On top of that, the game continues to have the problem where the characters possessing Celica very clearly do not have her best interest at heart and are just using her as a vehicle for their own desires, since Celica herself has no agency in anything she does. I had hoped for the longest time that there would be more to this, and you had hinted before that there would be indications the characters care about her as a person, but that hasn't made it into the game at all, she's just a doormat who happens to do all the boring stuff until one of the other characters possess her to act out their own desires without ever letting her be a part of her own life. I wish you the best in continuing the game, I'm sure you'll find supporters for it, but in its current state, where you'd likely need to grind for an entire day straight if you started playing it to get to the most recent events, I can't ever see myself playing it again, I cannot recommend it to anyone else, and I cannot see the game improving, despite how much I like a lot of the scenes within it.

Jon P

Two questions - are you familiar with the system where Nel grinds for you? It's customizable to go different places with different party members and imo it greatly alleviates your 1st issue. Especially if you prep energy potions ahead of time. Second, if someone started playing it for the first time, why on earth would they only care about the most recently added content? They'd have hours of content they'd never experienced to play through first. If they weren't playing it for the first time but returning, Deimus puts a lot of effort into making save games backwards compatible for exactly this reason. ...your desire for Celica having more agency and less possession time I agree with. Not knocking the fetish or it's supporters, I just would like to see her develop some, maybe even independently of them if it made sense plot-wise.

TipTap

I'm very familiar with it, I got to level 80 mostly with that method, and the grinding I'm referring to is not just in regards to leveling up, which still takes a very long time. Not only do you grind for levels, but if you want treasures to upgrade your items to get better skills (like enhanced speed so the enemies aren't constantly running you over), you need to grind. There's a whole lot of money spending in the game too, which means you have to grind. What's most annoying however are the relationships which you have to grind (even when I'm at the level cap, I still have to grind). When I mentioned I mostly got up to the level cap with Nel, that wasn't because I wanted to hit the level cap, it was because you NEED to grind like that to raise up her relationship bar. Deimus tried to alleviate this sort of thing with L, but since the relationship items cost hundreds of gold, you still need to grind to get them (especially if you have no clue the jewels upgrade the wallet, and that you need to fuse the jewels with the wallet in a specific order to make it bigger, I don't think anything in the game tells you about that), and not everyone has those items, as an example you still need to grind Glace (who is exactly the same character as Nel except she isn't lying about only wanting Celica's body), and even after you grind Glace's relationship points up, you then have to GRIND MORE AS THE DOLL AFTER GRINDING UP TO LEVEL 10, and then you have to grind more fucking fights against Glace, after you've already just done that! Having Nel level you up is not alleviating my complaint since if I'm leaving the game idle while it grinds, then those parts might as well not be there, that's just a part of the game I can't play (not to mention you actually need to grind as the doll, as far as I'm aware Nel can't do that for you). This also goes for characters like Selena who you have to battle enemies with, if the game's just idling while I'm doing something else, then what am I supposed to enjoy about that? Second, I didn't say anyone playing for the first time would only care about the most recently added content, that is a strawman you made up and I would appreciate it if you did not force your words into my mouth. I brought up how long it would take to get from the start to the most recently added content to highlight just how much grinding is in the game. Incidentally when I first brought up how it would take hours to grind up to the newest content (in the second sentence), that was with a save file from a pretty recent version (either the last one or the one before that), it did take me hours with a relatively up to date save file and a Celica at level 80 just to see all the newest events, and it was not because the newest events were long (although part of it is because I can't figure out why battling monster with Selena isn't raising the relationship). That's why I cannot recommend the game to new people, even if they're 100% into the possession fetish, if it takes hours of grinding for somebody who already has a save file, somebody new who goes through the game from start until now would need to waste somewhere around a solid day doing nothing but just grinding.

Derpinator Derpymcderpface

my dude i have finished the game every update in the span of a hour or 2. maybe think of better ways to grind, also usually when their relationship wont progress. there's nothing to get or you need to progress in other areas first. Nel can help free you from glace so that you can immediately get your body back so that you can give it up again to get more relationship points with glace. the mysterious merchant shops relationship point thing is also pretty cheap and not that expensive. unless your grinding slimes for money? you can leave it running while you do stuff on your phone rather than sit there and be bored and angry about it. if you don't want to support it anymore though that's fair. I just don't think it's all that bad you make it up to be.

TipTap

2 hours is still hours, and I was checking other areas. The crystal ball kept saying to battle with her against monsters, so I continued to do that in each area assuming that she either needed to spend enough time with Celica for the events to progress or that I needed to battle with her in a specific area. Nothing triggered further progression and I eventually had to give up on it. As for Glace, that's still grinding, and it's the exact thing I'm talking about here. Your reward after grinding is to do more grinding (I went further into this on a reply I doubt you read), and I just addressed in an earlier reply how L does not sell affection items for everyone. I also addressed why leaving the game running is a problem in that earlier reply as well.

townofmagic

When you ask L to open the shop, the mystery box refreshes. The price of the box is key to understanding what's inside. Under 100 is a joke item, 500-1000 is a unique item, over 1000 is an item that is a treasure from an area

Peter Krause

How do I find the mobile shop?

Lunaraia

Ah, yeah that adds up why it never showed up again then, thanks.

Lunaraia

It alternates between the ruins south of the Demon tower and the southwestern shore of the lake. It swaps every day, so if it's not one of the places, it's the other.

Pete

Apparently i'm dumb cause I constantly need help but what do with the hot springs fox lady?

Pete

ah... yeah that explains it

Derpinator Derpymcderpface

have you played a RPG game because you grind in them, it's kind of the norm. I'm sure there will be more content to spice up combat and make it more interesting or give easier and quicker ways of grinding. i just didnt like how you were getting angry at people trying to help you. jon p literally agreed with you on the possession content and i only tried explaining some of my experiences. I'm sure deimus will make a guide to help people who can't figure some stuff out on their own and make some other stuff easier with the constructive criticism people give. I'm just flustered with the rude way of how you worded your reasoning. look I'm not going to send any more replies but like learn to be nice when giving criticism to a developer or people helping you, sure you spent a day maybe playing through the whole game like the rest of us would with any game. But Hes spending months on this maybe longer (I don't know when he started). the game is early access it's going to have hiccups. that's all i have to say. theres also a cheat version.

TipTap

Somehow you didn't even get to the "too much" part of my comment. I never said there shouldn't be grinding in a RPG and I'd appreciate it if you didn't put words in my mouth. I get annoyed when people do things like that (it's very rude) and ignore what I've already brought up to make a point I've already addressed, and I'm sure you feel the same way if I only read part of your comment and wrote a response to that without checking to see if you went into further detail later on. I'm also sure you'd be very annoyed and consider it rude for me to act as if you said or made points you never did, and then attack you on those points. It's not hard to see why I wasn't as polite to Jon P who did exactly that.

Crispy

whos the character between glace and elith in quests can't find him or her and where do find the item to craft lust potions it shows as a ?

Pete

ok new question, where is Glace? I got 2/5 scenes done with her and the fortune teller says to wear her more but where is she?

townofmagic

Talk to the maid with the Glace armor on.

Jaja Kakakaka

So I have found the puppet shack and water tunnel which I'm guessing are 2/4 locations, what are the other 2? And I'm guessing the 2 new enemies/characters are Cephrina and Elith. Is the tentacle looking monster on the menu page Cephrina or Elith or something??

townofmagic

Locations added in the game do not mean they are always accessible to the player. Some of them offer their unique background in art and music. - Nel's home (2 variations) - Gaius Residence - Water Tunnel - Puppet Shack - Puppet Shack - Bed Closeup - Elith's Lair - Wagon shop

Po po patrol

When is the next poll or what are you looking to add for the next update

Jon P

FWIW, TipTap, I wasn't trying to strawman or put words in your mouth - I misunderstood your statement "It's gotten to the point where just getting to the new content can take hours and is miserable nearly every stretch of the way." because I couldn't fathom anyone other than a new player taking hours to get to new content. I have had a similar experience as Derpinator - each update, sometimes even a few updates put together, only take me 1-2 hours at most. The innkeeper and fortuneteller have always answered ~95% of my 'I dunno what to do' moments, and the other 5% someone has always already asked here or on discord. Perhaps that 5% is where you've gotten stuck? I'd recommend the discord, but that attitude likely won't get you very far there. Just as you ignored my agreement with you on possession content, I ignored some of your points as well. These walls'o'text would be even more ridiculous if we did a line-by-line rebuttal. Again FWIW I think the fusion system is intended to encourage experimentation. Yes, it'd be nice if the UI displayed more items at once, or sorted them. There is a guide - it's a book in the library. Making the combinations more obvious than they already are would likely make the system pointless... I get you're quite upset about Town of Magic and apparently online discourse too, but in my experience this is a decent community that doesn't make a habit of manipulating folks. I think it's even ruder that you determined our motivations/intent/malice without asking - those are internal mental states, not something observable.

TipTap

With the exception of the events that turned out to be bugged, I've seen the vast majority of the content in the game, including every optional treasure and collecting every skill from every item you can upgrade with various ores. The Bartender has no more clues, and with the exception of the bugged fortune teller regarding one person's events (at the time I dropped my pledge), she has no more advice to give. I doubt the online community would make a difference at this point. I will also point out that 2 hours is still hours. I did not respond to what you wrote about possession content because I had nothing to add. I'm not looking to get anyone to drop their support, if you still love the game, then more power to you. I also am not interested in trying to convince Deimus to change the game they are making; they should be free to make it however they want and since it seems like that won't be a direction I enjoy, I will wish them the best and move on. What I want from the game (deeper relationships and a main character who is more than a fashion accessory for whoever wears her) is not what they like, and that's fine, I'm not here to disparage anyone for their own kinks and I genuinely do think it's great that they have the money to make what they enjoy. As mentioned, I get annoyed when people choose to ignore what I wrote (by which I mean they bring up something I already addressed) or strawman it, and that is what your original post seemed to be doing. You say I can't observe your mental state, but what I can do is point out you were addressing something ridiculous that I never said and acting as if that was my argument, which is the textbook definition of a strawman. That's why I acted as if that is what you were doing, and I can also point out how you say that I'm quite upset about Town of Magic, while claiming that I cannot observe your mental state. I am not upset about Town of Magic, that is why I wished Deimus well with making the game, what I am annoyed at is people who end up being hypocrites who do exactly what they accuse other people of doing. If you're going to say that somebody shouldn't comment on your perceived mental state, then you should not do exactly that to somebody else. You also continued this judgement by claiming that I am upset at online discourse, again making an assumption about my mental state while claiming that is exactly what you're not supposed to do. I do not recall you asking whether or not I was upset at the game or online discourse, yet you make it seem like that is something somebody is supposed to do before making those kind of judgements. Finally, the books in the libaray are Status Ailments, The Relationship Between Elements, Understanding Attributes, Improving Relationships, Various Hints, Skills - Learning and Enabling, Alchemy - Learning and Enabling, Battle & Experience, and that is it. There is no book in the library regarding fusions and/or with a recipe list for it, and I changed the total of content I've seen specifically for this. If there is a seller or NPC who sells it who is not any of the townsfolk, any of the Dwarves, any of the Elves, anyone in the new city, or L with their traveling caravan, then I've missed them entirely. The barkeeper is giving no hints on where to find them, the fortune teller does not say where to look if the book is a treasure, it simply is not there. Before dropping my pledge I did also search online for any sort of recipe list, and I did not find one, the only tips I found were in the comments on various posts.
