i still love a classic asmr-esque experience even though I don't make many of them myself, but you know i had to put some kind of a in-universe spin on it (with some snake oily undercurrent for good measure). hope you enjoy!

Sooo, we sold our souls (i.e. bank accounts) to a meditate-your-latency-away guru, and will receive one and a half hour long sessions with Dan for the next ten weeks every Friday? Plot will only continue on November 7th... 😂😜 Jokes aside, this character is actually a cool concept. I mean, of course there would also be charlatans in the magical world. And who knows, perhaps he's not even a charlatan on purpose, but truly believes what he's doing works. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, despite his evasiveness during the interview... If he knows that what he's doing isn't really going anywhere, and he's just ripping people off who come and seek help, then he's a butt hole. One that still manages to make us feel nice and relaxed, at least.😅 I wonder and would love to know, whether Dan is empowered himself. And if so, what are his powers? He could also be an unempowered person, who has informed status because he maybe has empowered family members or an empowered partner or friends... I could imagine, if an unempowered person grew up with or even just lived with empowered people around them later in life, they might feel envious or inadequate. They might wish, they also had something "special" about them. Perhaps, becoming a "healer" like this either makes Dan feel like he can do something special as well, even without *actual* magical powers (if he's indeed unempowered, that is). Or he secretly knows that what he's doing isn't working, and this is his twisted way of boosting his ego, by having some sort of control over an empowered person. Like, him basking in the feeling that an empowered person (even if currently latent) needs him... 🤔 He is, however, correct that the Department does little to help Latents. And he isn't the only one making a business out of it. I don't remember if it was ever mentioned wether Dreamer had to pay anything for the Project Meridian "therapy", and at least that one actually worked. But either way, there are people offering all kinds of tricks and solutions, because Latents apparently don't know where else to find help. Dreamer's chosen solution was a risky one. Dan's listener's solution here is probably an expensive one with poor results. Makes you wonder, how bad it could get if, say, a Sadism Demon had the idea to make a profit off of Latents... 😨 Are we gonna meet Dan again? While I wouldn't pay for his services, from behind my screen and with my headphones I'd be very happy to listen to another relaxing session like that! 😊👍
