This render turned into a nightmare, but hopefully it’s worth the wait. I’m so excited to share this one with you guys! I’ve been trying to figure out for weeks now how to handle the straight up logistics of writing this for an audio-only format while still trying to convey that for the characters, they’re also really ‘in it’, rather than it just being a traditional actual play. In theory, that should mean the characters and DM wouldn’t really have to explain their movements/actions/etc, but then that would kind of break the audio-only nature of it, so I landed at something of a compromise, leaning more toward the dictation style of an actual play within the writing itself. Ultimately I’m really happy with how that turned out.

I really debated for a long while if I was actually going to try to make videos of the D.A.M.N. crew’s game. I’d talked myself out of it a few times, because it seemed like such an undertaking and really complicated to deliver on, but I thought up a hook for it that I was really excited to write, and these last two months of audios before it that I’ve written without worrying about Youtube’s crazy rules took such a weight off and truly reignited my love for making things again, so I had to jump at it for Halloween month.

Also, fun fact, for a lot of this I actually rolled dice for the characters while I was scripting and let those rolls inform how I wrote parts of it! That was a lot of fun, and only slightly anxiety-inducing for my typically control-freak writing style XD

This little arc is a nod to my love of D&D, Curse of Strahd (as a starting point, though this diverges from it pretty heavily), spooky stuff, the Neverafter season of Dimension 20 (my favorite one they’ve made), and even the holodeck episodes of Star Trek. And of course, the D.A.M.N. crew. I’m excited to take them on another adventure. It’s been a while since they had the spotlight. Hope you enjoy!
