I have something of a general question for you all that I'd appreciate some input on. Especially in the wake of Inversion, I've seen a fair amount of comments asking what's the best way to start with my content. While a lot of my individual plotlines are designed to function alone if that's all you want out of them, they're definitely enriched by knowing the other series. And there are some series that are pretty heavily reliant on the other content to make complete sense. And in general, with 250-ish videos on the channel, watching everything from start to finish in order of release would be one hell of an undertaking, especially if some of the themes in certain series aren't really your thing.

All these stories live up in my head, interconnected, layered on top of each other, I know all the ins and outs because it's what I made. So I don't always have a great outside perspective of how to introduce someone to my content, because the plots don't really exist in isolation or any particular order in my head. So my question to you all is: if you had to say what's a good series of mine to start with, one that gives you an idea of the world and what it's all about, which would you say? Or, more broadly, what are the series that you think are the easiest way to get into the channel? Different people have different tastes of course, but I'm curious what you all think.

Just call me AJ

Gavin is a good start to the DAMN series and the magical world in general

😌

i would also love an answer to this

Multiduel

Personally I think the freelancer series is the best to start with, the listener is going in with no knowledge of the world just like a new person to your channel That’s what I started with and I’m glad I did because it was a good set up for the other plot lines

Jasper Stark

I started with Vincent and then branched out to the Freelancer I feel those two are good starting points

Jess Q

The Freelancer series is always my first recommendation as the listener is being introduced to the world along with the listener character! It gives a pretty good background of how magic functions in the world, what Dahlia’s like, and you don’t really have any crossed wires until the Cost.

Mich Aguiluz

I think the freelancer series is a great intro. It has a lot of worldbuilding and all the characters have something for everyone.

Ren

I definitely think personally that any of the Shaw pack audios a great first in. There is just enough story to get you interested but not enough to confuse you. After that I would say Vincent and Sam, then the freelancer series!

Discretely Obvious

i say freelancer season 1. but my friend started with asher, sam and milo and had me explain everything else go them

Northstar

I think Vincent is a good intro

Kelly

Same 🧛‍♂️

Golden Ewe

I think DAMN season 1 is a great place to start. It introduces the listener to magic and the rules of the world and sets a tone for the rest of the content

Evangeline

Freelancer plot line is a good intro I think!

Saya

I personally started with Vincent’s storyline (completely by accident mind you but the point remains) and the aftermath video where Vincent explains everything he thinks is relevant to the majo al community with Lovely was my portal into the Redactedverse. So I’m gonna vouch for my boy Vinny bc I love him. I also think the Damn series is a decent place to start with Freelancer imo ♥️

gastropoda

I'd definitely recommend starting with Vincent, I feel like his plotline is one that has a more direct connection to the progression of all the plotlines compared to others if that makes sense?

lifeisspaghetti11

Hmm, probably Asher, Vincent, or the DAMN series

Valerie Hammond

Personally I feel like a good way to start is with Vincent’s arc at least until the end of Adam’s arc and then start with Sam’s and then to the ther wolf bois and finally is the elementals. One thing I’m having trouble with is where to put Ivan’s arc in though

Emmi

The Freelancer Series. When I first started listening to your channel I did start with Vincent and Lovely’s story but when I recommend your channel to some of my friends I tell them to start with Freelancer and then work their way to everyone else’s playlists and videos

ProfessorYikes

Freelancer season 1 is definitely the best intro to the world in general

Beck

FL season 1, but stopping before the 3-heart friendship routes to listen to some Avior vids for lore (and the “it’s called Aria” reveal)

Gwen Finch

I tell people to start with the freelancer series since it gives good insight into what that world offers, and then they can branch off of that. Personally I started off with Sam because that’s just what came up on my feed but freelancer I think gives the most info so people would know what is going on in the other characters stories

Andrea Hernandez

i’d personally say the freelancer series. probably because for me, i started to understand the universe better through that series thanks to the elementals and particularly Gavin.

Baby Miracle

have mentioned that Sadism’s Hold was my introduction to the channel but I’m realistic that it is not everyone’s cup of tea. I feel if I had to pick to get the clearest picture of the channel over all the entire freelancer season one covers so much lore and background of the world in general.

Bi Panick

I just went by character and the stopped at inversion. That’s not the best way to do anything but I liked it

FawnSpawn

i think the best way ti be introduced into the world would definitely be through the DAMN/Freelancer with Gavin, Hux, Damian, and Lasko. it gives a good background to understanding the magical world you’ve built!

ScreamingPeregrine

I personally started with David and the rest of the wolves but when my friend showed interest I recommended she start with Vincent’s bc that then leads into the wolves and the academy this Freelancers story arcs etc

Rahaf

i'd say Vin ❤️

Saya

Exactly. I love that your first go round in this series you actually feel like a Humanborn bc you know just as little about this world as the actual freelancer does 😂

gastropoda

the freelancer season 1 playlist is perfect tho!! having a playlist in the order of the plot is fantastic for ppl starting out, it lets them follow the story without sticking to the one character

CharlieCharlatan

I would say "freelancer season one" and "Vincent and Lovely". Vincent has to explain just about all of the magically world to Lovely so it can serve as a really good starting point. Alternatively Freelancer gives perspective on the world as someone who belongs to it without knowing very much about it and is having to learn as they go.

Saya

Especially bc there’s a video that explains everything in it

Blue

Freelancer, by far - their series definitely has a lot more different types of magic appearing than others, and it helps that they're initially a newbie to the world of magic as well.

Lee Hen

I think the Freelancer series is the best way to explore everything from exploring the magic world itself. And it offers a wide range of characters to the viewers, so it's likey to reach more people.

Brede

The DAMN series and/or Vincent since both revolve heavily around the listener being introduced to the magical world

Angel

i think either season one of DAMN or start with one of the shifter boys, more so david.

Miss_Nicky31

That is a good question.🤔 I would suggest people to start with the Vincent playlist. Because 1. the listener, Lovely in this case, is also new to the world of magic etc. And 2, in the aftermath audio of that playlist, Vincent also explains a lot about the kinds of magic users in the amazing world you created.😊

Saya

That’s really good advice

Adena Folly

Personally I found your channel through Freelancer season 1. I ended up watching the 8.5 hour compilation which helped keep everything in order, and after that I went back to the very beginning of the channel and watched all of the videos in order of release. I really liked going back to the start and seeing the stories build on each other and little plot points be expanded through unexpected characters. One example being we learned through Gavin that humans can't go through rifts, but then in Avior's video that we learned why that was the case. I loved getting to uncover bits and pieces through all of the characters' stories overlapping.

Yanagihara Ren

Personally. I think the freelancer series is by far the easiest to get into, considering their situation as a human discovering the magic world and all the other species out there. It’s easy to relate to considering the freelancer is learning all these new things and it feels like the listener is being introduced to your world. I think that it sets the stage for your other storylines in the supernatural side of things. The ones of unempowered people like Aaron and Ollie, however, are simple and very easy to dive into.

Aiton

For people who enjoy world-building, the Freelancer series is pretty much a good place to start with. They approach the listener with a perspective where they are new and unaware of the magical aspects of the community. It's a good lead in. But for people who find condensed information to be intimidating, a mixture of informative but playful works well. So Elliott and Vincent's playlists would work in this regard.

Bee with a side of fries

Either David, or Vincent stories are the best way to start I think! It's where I started and gradually moved in the freelancer storyline but freelancer could also be a great way to start too! But thats how I went about it and then I just kinda gradually listened to everyone else after the freelancer s1 storyline ❤

aiden ♡

I am one of those people who jumped into the channel pretty recently and while I kind of skipped around at first depending on who’s stories I liked the best, the eight hour freelancer season 1 compilation video gave me the best overview of how the world works and helped me connect the dots regarding magic and stuff in other storylines.

Saya

YASS Sam for the W

Strayrherainbowace

I stumbled in and found Gavin first, but I'd personally either start someone off on the Freelancer series or if you want David or Sam are good people to start off with

Patrish_ka

I agree that the freelancer series is a perfect intro the the lore and the world you have created. THAT BEING SAID....Vincent and Lovely's story hands down is the best hook to get someone into the channel as a whole! I tell people to start with that if they aren't hooked within the first two videos then then they need to try again 😆

Katie

The freelancer/DAMN storyline. Although I want to say Vincent or David cause those are my fav storylines, I think the Freelancer series is a good intro to a bunch of different topics, and types of magical people.

damien b.

With a lot of people saying the Freelancer series I hesitate to answer this truthfully but with as much thought as I could give this in 3 minutes, I'm gonna go Asher. Unlike Vincent's storyline that introduces conflict via Adam in the 3rd video, (ignoring his now first video prequel literally involving the listener's death) and David's storyline (which start out very brash and offputting to a new listener) Asher provides a really light start to the idea that people in this world are empowered and some people are not while also showing that the world is interconnected as he talks to his listener about the pack and the different dynamics shown (mentioning to his listener how uncharacteristic it was for David to allow someone to call him Davey, yet it sets a precedent for THAT relationship and how far their trust goes.) Asher is light, easygoing, and fun and a great introduction to the idea of empowered/unempowered relationships without there being too much in the way of heavy trigger tags that may cause newcomers to hesitate.

Furioushobbit13

I'm a start from the beginning sort of person but if a person was to go series by series I would suggest the wolves or vamps series as good intros, then freelancer & on from there.

Mars

I’ve been trying to get my friends to listen for a while and honestly while doing that the best series i could find that would wet feet and introduce lore was the freelancer series!

Michelle Rodriguez

1. I start with DAMN season 1 it gives the best introduction to the concepts of magic, and how it works 2. Vincent, it gives a bit of un and our about how the world perceives magic. 3. Wolf bois, magic is already established to the listener and we start understanding they dynamics of a pack life, and externa factors. 4. Brachium/Elliot/Avior same reason as wolf bois but we start seeing the progression of how we get from normal life to the inversion and more understanding of demons/deamons 5. Ivan for those who can deal with the scenario, we have a better understanding of the influences involved and how the conclusion comes to be. Can be mixed in through the empowered videos. 5. All of the unempowered ones and Geordi seeing as he is new feel fairly independent. Alternatively, just putting them in some sort of chronological playlist would also works. For me this is what makes most sense to me.

Lou Lou

Freelancer, David and Vincent are my top choices.

carlos

If someone new feels like undertaking a big chunk, the freelancer season 1 is probably the best way to learn about the mechanics and the lore, and still get a broad knowledge of the characters in a way that’s streamlined and easy for consumption. If FL season 1 is too big an undertaking, I think Vincent’s series actually explores things quite well, especially the episode where he explains the aftermath.

ChocolateMama

The Freelancer plot series 100% in my opinion

ItMeJadynB

DAMN to into to the magical world. David to showcase an isolated story that is still connected to others

Ellie W

So, I think plot-wise, freelancer is probably the *most* important? Just because of how many you can connect together, and that gives you the bulk of the inversion characters. Vincent's audios are probably also important, both to give inversion higher stakes and to give an introduction to empowered vs not. I would start with those. Now, basically outside of that I think you can take or leave a lot of the plots. Elliot and sunshine/braechium/cult guy (who's name escapes me because I've stayed out of those audios) have something to do with what caused the inversion, but I think you could either watch those before or after inversion and honestly? Having the inversion event as a total mystery wouldn't impact your understanding of what happens in it, and I think would be kind of scarier. Totally removed from it seems to be android listener and Avior (I could be wrong and I'm sure Erik has some sort of intricate story involving them in the dahlia multiverse, and he's probably laughing at this comment already). The wolf boys... complicated. You kinda need Milo's prequel to understand why sweetheart and milo could play the roles they did in saving the gotdamn day (so proud of them). David and asher, other than falling in love with them and again raising the stakes, don't necessarily impact the plot of inversion. So thats my take on bare bones, what you need to get to this point.

DaniiBirb

Freelancer season 1 if I had to think about it. It slowly provides explanations for the politics and magic system. It also is a good series for new folks since the audience is introduced to the heavier and sometimes close to home topics that the Redacted-verse covers at a pace that isn't extremely overwhelming for the first go around

Meg

Definatly start with Vincent and then fork off into either David or Gavin. Depending on personal taste.

Arazmis

I'd agree with what most people are saying and go with Vincent or The Freelancer series. (Just don't do what I did and pick one at random when first stumbling upon the channel, leading to the first one I listened to being The Cost)

Star0203

I think either following freelancer or Vincent. Cause he explains some of the magical world a bit better after the whole thing with Adam. Also Freelancer learns bit by bit from all of our elemental bois. Either one of those would be nice to start with if someone is new and they would like to learn more about the world

Alex Liddell

From the first RP video. Like the rest of us we loved you through your content post by post.

°DяewCђeω°

Personally, my introduction to the channel was Elliot, Vincent, and Gavin, so Gavin or the Freelancer series is a good way to ease people in to the plot!

alexa

idek i started at davey and idrk where i went from there

Saya

I also think it depends on how deep a new person is okay with starting with. The Vincent storyline gets real deep and dark real fast, what with Adam and all since it’s only after his arc that Vincent has to explain everything. If someone is still dipping their toes in and trying to see if this is content they like, I’d say Freelancer bc it’s slower. By the time it gets into the deeper stuff you’ve got a good grasp on what the universe entails

JokersPenguin

I started out with the Damn series and then branched out to the wolves( David, Ash, then Milo) and then Vincent and Sam. Maybe having a catch up video every now and then would help? Or character introduction and summary, so people can make a decision on where to start for themselves?

parking meter

I started with Vincent since he was pretty easier to jump into. Although if people are just looking for the story and plot, I would recommend listening to the video that introduces that character and others who impact the story. Listening to everything is definitely the best, but again, just jumping to “important episodes” to get through the story quicker. Then again I have no idea what I am talking about. I hope this helps and that you have a good day.

Octavian

Freelancer season one is where I went when I decided I wanted to know more about DAMN and the world. I originally just listened to one characters audios (Sam, shamelessly), but the E&E games got me severely hooked. Season one opened up like a whole can of worms. It led me to listen to Ivan, and then Brachium showing up in Inversion led me to listen to The Balance, and just the sheer need to have more lore led me to Avior. I had a general interest in the Wolf Pack to begin with, so I just listened to those. But I think if people listen to the E&E games they might find their interest in the Pack or any of the vampire audios. Also, it depends on what people are interested in. I think if people wanted to know lore about demons, they would want to start with Avior and Gavin, because they explain the lore really well. That'll lead them to Vega, who explains the conflict and problems of DUMP and demons very well, which then leads them to Close-knit probably. But it depends on their initial area of interest. But to start I think the Freelancer series is probably is the best bet. It gives an overall general view of the world as someone first entering it. The layering of the world is complex, but its also very beautifully done and I think starting there gives the listener a good base for all the other audios.

Saya

This^

Adam Rodriguez

I’d say Vincent since you get a solid introduction to magic. After that I’d suggest the freelancer series since you’ll now know enough to avoid any confusion

Syn Unknown

Interesting. For me, if I think about what I personally would want from a story like this... start with Elliot. You get the lead up to what may be happening, the foundation in some way? Then Gavin and DAMN. Maybe this is just my weird brain. 😬

Average0w0Weeb

Personally I started with Milo, David, and Ash without even knowing anything but after watching the Freelance it definitely gave me better insight and understanding of their World. Despite that I had a wonderful first time experience with our wolf boys and was able to understand their world with the information provided within each video. Then I watch the Your Place in Magic video for better understanding. I would say that the best place to start for general viewing the Shaw Clan Boys audios are a great start but for the demographic of lore hunting/loving audiences I would say the Freelancer series is definitely a good place to start in terms of Lore.

Lily

okay—so, i think the two best playlists to start are vincent and david. you might have to tread carefully re: the adam part if that's not your thing, but all in all they provide a pretty good stepping stone into the world. the listeners are unempowered, thus get more of an explanation as to how things work and why. then, as you progress through their storylines, it's easier to find connections with other characters—from david to asher, and vincent to sam, etc. not to mention, vincent and david are really good examples of character development, so i think having them be first in line will show any potential new listener the scope of the world and characters you're building. ^^

Ethyt.h

Hard to say between the freelancer’s serie and Vincent, because I discovered your universe with Vincent, and freelancer really opened the universe. I think it would be good to begin with one of them !

Emma H

I subscribed at Asher’s second video. But as the channel grows, I can’t watch each video as they come out so I rely on your playlists to help me out! I love clicking to Asher’s playlist or Davey’s playlist. But as the world keeps building I really liked your arc playlists: Ivan, Freelancer, etc. I think each bois playlist is a great place to enjoy subtle world building and starting to build connections. For example, I liked Davey and Asher for their sweet interactions with their listener but then you gave us depth and back story (davey’s dad, milo’s relationship to the pack, etc) so it got me hooked on dahlia as a whole. It made me go back and start with gavin and the freelancer. So i know it’s a little difficult but your playlists are Fucking Mint when it comes to understanding flow and keep things as close to linear. I hope that makes sense!

lucy

freelancer or vincent <3

Lassie98

Honestly the best way to introduce everything is D.A.M.N season 1. It immediately starts with magic and introduces a wide variety of characters from the universe with different abilities and personalities. It really shows off your talent of playing so many different character and shows that every single one of your videos will be unique. I haven't been a fan very long(only about 3 months) but it's the series I started off with and then slowly trantioned into Vincent then all the wolf bois. You already have your characters separated in different playlists so you've already done a fantastic job with organizing your channel! It honestly really helped me when I first started listening as well. But back to the D.A.M.N season 1, it helps the most with arcs such as the Inverion arc. Of course knowing Elliots side might help a bunch with Branchium, but it's already done a good job making you care for the majority of these characters and what they are able to do in situations since you, as a listener, know their abilities and care how they are gonna protect each other and themselves. Sorry for the long rant, I just wanted to explain that it was kinda weird to know where to start at first and what really helped me out in the beginning. Hope this helps!!

zany

I say Davey or Vincent is the easiest to get into and their the ones I used to introduce people to your channel. As far as learning the magic of your universe either freelancer or damn s1

Saya

Sugar Crash

Hmm, a generic answer by this point, but the freelancer and Vincent storylines are probably the best since the listener is also being introduced to everything as well. Not to mention most/all of the characters it talks about are introduced within that storyline, so there’s no need to go listen to another playlist in order for it to make sense.

Louise Trejo

When I first discovered the channel it was when Vincent was just starting out, I absolutely got hooked into it and seeing the story grow from not only just one or a few characters and scenarios but grow into even more made me all the more happy to follow the journey with each newly introduced perspective. Vincent’s story line made the absolute most sense to me because I started with it and then seeing his character grow and interests change is phenomenal, It was sweet, funny, and adventurous. Then we were introduced into the D.A.M.N storyline mixing with it— it just flowed out perfectly, we had also grown into the story and it made it all the more exciting. I love all the storylines, if anything any character you choose to begin with will tell the story more and more with each episode because they’re all filled in with detail and passion.

Kody Kadno

D.A.M.N. is what finally pulled me in. I had listened to a couple others randomly, but the freelancer thread invested me. And then Milo, and the pack bois, made me fall in love with it all.

Loup

I would suggest starting with the freelancer series- it's a great intro to some of the most important aspects of the world building involved in this universe, and being able to watch it all the way through would provide a solid perspective on a lot of the main canonical plot. Afterwards I'd probably suggest diving into the individual series' on the channel (i.e. The wolves, brachium, the vampires, etc) because they'll make more sense if as a listener you have a foundation with the freelancer series to introduce everything 🙂

Glovgood

I think the werewolves would ease off into your universe. Because there's variety of characters and content but somewhat low stakes. Then the vampire series, with Vincent and Sam, because you get to build up on the werewolf lore and have higher stakes. Then the Dreamer series and Brachium series and Echo stuff. Because again: you get to somewhat build up on that lore with high stakes. THEN the Freelancer series season 1&2 and Inversion series. Because they feel like the culmination of the lore you've acquired and the stories you've heard. It's also the part of the series with the highest stakes and by the time you get to it, you'll need to know everything about the werewolves, vampire and dreamer series to get the intricacies of the story and the Easter Eggs. They also make for a great build up to the Inversion. At least that's how I order them in my mind.

Octavian

I also don't know if its possible to do this, or if it's something you're interested in (maybe its somewhere and I haven't found it), but a timeline would be awesome. Listening to the audios I can kind of figure out when everything is happening, obviously based on the thumbnail art matching and dates of certain events, but a visual timeline of major events might also help because some people just want things chronologically laid out. But I also understand why you might not want to do this or why it might not be helpful.

Haz

Personally myself I had just watched all the videos in upload order on the channel but I would definitely say Freelancer season 1 then just slowly make the way from there as you get a good idea of the lore and info from that to set you off good I think

CharlieCharlatan

After that, I would definitely point to David. Im biased here, but I really do like the progress of David as a person and his relationship with Angel.

MoltenBird

I think I was first introduced through Vincent. Vince's gave me an introduction to how the world works and the freelancer one built on that. Either of those probably works as a best starting point. The balance and Avoirs need more context behind them so probably not them.

juli

while the freelancer series is a great to know the most about the world of magic (since the freelancer is literally learning about it as the series goes on) it gets a little tricky towards the end of season one with the cost, without listening to Ivan’s videos or knowing about the deal made with echo it can get a bit confusing, it’d be nice to start with davey/milo/asher or vincent since it’s pretty easy to listen to their videos in isolation, but in the long run the interconnected-ness of the storylines add so so much to the experience so the initial confusion of the freelancer series might be worth it (personally i started with vincent and ivan but that’s cause they were the only options at the time)

Saya

This is actually the hottest take

Cami Cam

The Vincent series was my personal intro to the world and the channel as a whole. I think it’s a good start but if they really want to get straight into the world then freelancer series is where it’s at.

Aaliyah Ward

I’ve been listening/subscribed since the 5th video, so I’m in the same boat regarding knowing the Redactedverse inside and out. I agree that newer viewers should probably start with the Freelancer series, and then branch off w/Vincent & Ivan. Watching in post order would work too ofc, but I think it’s probably best to just get into the “meat” if you will. It’s similar to Marvel in the sense that they didn’t release their movies in chronological order, but when Endgame came around, everything connected and made sense. There may be some ruined surprises, but at least they’ll have every bit of knowledge they need!

Joker Fan

I got into the channel through Vincent's story and then went to Sam because Sam connected to the wolves and so on. Vincent's and Lovely's story introduced me to this world so I'd say that.

Charlene Williams

For me, I started with Vincent, then Freelancer, the wolves and then into Dreamwalker and saved Avior & the sadist saga for last.

damien b.

I understand a lot of people saying that freelancer season one is a good starting point but I think a lot of people are forgetting the amount of trigger tags that went alongside of that and as a listener who was there when it was unfolding in real time, I had already had attachments to the characters because of the community discussions between video drops. We had time to "recover" before the next update and it wasn't Reverse Comfort directly into a video that described a magical allegory for assault directly into getting paralyzed by a sadism demon. Freelancer Season One was intense. It's 30 videos and the only breaks are really the first 6 (one of which is 18+), and then most of the updates some how do mention/involve the process of reporting that assault. However there is the nice way of getting to know the DAMN bois as the series progresses, learning after two semesters what Damien is passionate about, getting to see Lasko's confidence grow, seeing Huxley learn his self worth and make friends outside the Freelancer and their friends, and understanding more about Daemon culture from Gavin. But to get to those moments the listener has to go through a considerable amount of hardships, leading up to the Cost.

Origene

I think either the Shaw Pack or Freelancer storyline would be good series to start with. They both start off fairly lighthearted and do a good job with easing you into the complexity of the Redactedverse 😊

Wiz

I think DAMN season 1 is a great place to start. It has many different charaters that all know different things about the magical world and have different experiences, so you can learn different aspects of the world. I also think David, Asher, and Vincent's videos could be watched first since the listeners are human so they dont have any context either. It just depends on want the listener wants

Khelisie Salvatore

The way you originally laid them out. Vincent, Davey, Asher. Then there was a sad boi who turned out to be Ivan and we knew how that turned out... which brought us to freelancer, Gavin and the world of D.A.M.N. Even though this is all yours and you saw it as all integrated it never felt that way until Sam and Darlin went to the Solstice Party together did I see a glimmer of Vamps and Wolves working together. Also the big one when Gavin freelancer & Caelum helped save Ivan and the girl he was spelled to take. Then we have friends giving with the DAMN Bois & Gavin. Those are the times I saw semi integration of the cast. Ultimate integration unfortunately came out of tragedy in the lastest chapter Inversion. Obviously i'm missing some of the entire cast and that's only by mistake because the Tsundre Boss is a fun character. Because of the department rules about the unempowered not knowing about magic it would be hard to integrate the human story lines with let's say the pack, clan or DAMN Bois, or even the Demon Daemon click. They could fit withvthe rogue cult hell bent on destroying magic but why does c every unempowered have to be bad? Look at the mates of the pack and Lovelie was originally unempowered. You know the right things for Dahlia. Over the last year and a half you've c engineered us to this point and I trust you as the captain of this supernatural ship. Hoist anchor when ready captain I need to see that those i love the empowered heroes of Dahlia... how are they coping?

AiLoveIt95

I can only say what the majority said. The freelancer series is a great way to start. I started with Vincent and David (which are also good starting points ) but I really got hooked with FL. The overview and world building is just very strong in this one and you learn everything along with the character. BUT I think all of the wolf boys are a great way to start if someone would like something less lore heavy.

M.D. Williams

hmmm. I just got my friend hooked on your videos and find myself going back and helping her out with which videos to watch to get a deeper perspective on the lore. But the base character seemed to be Gavin/Freelancer since he kind of intertwines with the others quite a bit. From there I've been able to lead her to the other layers of overarching stories or introduce her to new characters. Especially since she wants to enjoy Inversion arc while knowing whats going on with everyone else. Sorry that was long winded XD

EmSterling93

I feel like Vincent's is the best way to start. With what happens with Lovely, it feels like it sets the world up appropriately. That's where I started and it made perfect sense to me after I finished his 'arc' and started on the others

artandannie

i would say one of the wolves - there aren’t any themes that are likely to be a trigger and they have different personalities to explore. it’s a really easy way to start out. I personally started with Vincent but i know the Adam plot could be triggering to others. D.A.M.N. is a good intro to the world as a whole but the Kody plot line could be hard for some.

SilenceIsGolden

I originally discovered your channel this past summer by coming across Vincent’s series. I thought it was a wonderful way to get started and interested in all of the other story lines. I know this is going to sound crazy, but the second plot line I started on the channel was Ivan’s. Not a great starter, but it was that series where I was like “this redacted guy is bloody genius” and I need to listen to ALL the other series. I’ve been addicted ever since.

purrlav

i agree with previous commenters, the freelancer series and vincent’s videos i think are a very very good introduction to the world, its rules and various characters!!

Karen Fernandez

I started with the wolf pack many moons ago . That was my introduction. And stories seemed to flow / branch out/ connect from there in a good fashion for me . But I'm of the older generation so the younger brains may roll different.

Tyler

Start from your first video posted and go by upload date. That’s how I did it!

nugget cherub

Either Vincent's, David's or freelancer's story would be good to start with I think. They've been around since the beginning and have a lot of lore. They were also the first ones I watched and I think they did good in introducing me to this world.

Hope

for me, Vincent or David’s storylines are the best introduction to your channel. they were the first stories I listened to and are really good to explain what your channel is about. I’ve only completed Vincent, Sam, Avior, Elliot, and all three wolf boys storylines (only listened to a few freelancer ones here and there but not in order or anything! — only because I recently found your channel and have yet to listen to them!!) yet everything still makes sense and I still understand completely what goes on in the main plot lines (like inversion! - although I haven’t listened to all the characters individual videos that were involved [I’ve not yet listened to any of Gavin or Kody’s videos] I still knew what was going on) so definitely for me, I would say either Vincent or David. as they really explain everything that goes on in your world and covers the basics that we need to know so everything connects without having to binge watch every series in order!

Dinanina. Y

I'm a few months into your channel, I didn't realise how connected the stories were I just listened to odd ones every now and then which were good to listen to before bed and then I individually went thru character playlists and I'm now re watching some of the playlists again and learning how the characters are at times over lapping. I'm still yet to go through your freelancer season 1 & 2 playlists in order of how they all follow as a chapter but I'd say whoever is starting to get into your channel, they gotta discover their fav characters to then get themselves into it . My first audio was lasko. Then found caelum and they both melted my heart. Then I found damien... so from them is when I realised oh there's a story line here so I dwelled into the vamps, werewolves, daemons and demons etc. I swear Erik you're mind is genius with the world you have created for your listeners. I genuinely cannot go sleep without putting on a random playlist... P.s Davey will always have my heart!!🙊

I'd honestly say to start with Vincent, then before watching Inversion to watch Freelancer Season One. With the introduction of D.A.M.N in Vincent's route, it makes sense to get a better understanding of it from the Freelancer's story. Avior's route is definitely important to the lore as well, so I think he should be watched next. That also leads to Blake and Elliott, though I feel like they could be watched at separate times to Avior, as their ties are arguably less strong. After that, I feel like David's should be watched, and then after that I feel like Asher, Milo, and Sam's could be watched in any order. Then of course, the Inversion. That's just my opinion though!!

Kayla

I got into the channel pretty early and started with Vincent, but I think introducing someone to the universe I would start with the Freelancer's first season. Then encourage them to get into whatever of the other series catches their interest first and build from there.

Phoenix

I believe I started with David, Asher, and Milo and moved on to Vincent and Sam and that seemed to be a good order for me

Rebecca

I feel like the freelancer story is an amazing one to start with if you really want to get into everything the channel has to offer, more specifically the lore. It just has a bit of everyone's story to get you introduced. But if you are just looking to focus on one character specifically it would have to be David or Vincents story. It still has a bit of everything but you are more focused on their character and their development with the things happening around them. Hopefully I worded this right 😅

Night_Nurse

I started with Freelancer and then worked through the rest. I was hooked on the 1st episode

☆•RedRiot•☆

I got introduced into the channel with Vincent so I'm biased by that regard... but honestly I think it all can be started anyway by any character. I can only suggest a story, it'll be up to them who they wanna start the story with and build the world from there. I think that's the fun part.

Sweepy

Personally, I started with Vincent’s series, then Asher and David’s, and then fell into all the other videos. But I think the freelancer series is the most broad with all the magic, demons, schooling and how the world works. Then the wolf pack I think is a good one to watch first too, specifically David’s audios with how much he talks about the pack and it’s structure and wolf abilities, and I’m pretty sure he mentions the academy too. I can understand how it could be daunting to start watching a channel with so many videos already released, but it’s so worth it to binge a few at a time and get lost in this world. I adore how something that I heard in one video could be relevant in another. It’s so cool how all the plots intertwine and connect, with character crossovers too. You’ve also made it very easy to binge different storylines with the playlists on the channel. You could spend one evening listening to the freelancer series, and then watch Asher and David’s another night, then Vincent and Sam’s etc.

Wren

I know I started with the wolves (Davy first, then off to Ash and Milo) - the freelancer arc is filled with the most lore but I feel it’s a bit too dense to start. It’s like jumping off at the deep end before you’re entirely certain you can swim. I say the wolves or Vincent are easy to get invested in straight off, and then the more expansive, complex storylines after. I’m a sucker for Sam, Avior, and Gavin - they’re my favorites - but with MAYBE the exception of Sam, they’re not ones to go straight into without a little bit of other arcs.

Gemini

After listening to a couple of random videos, I went to your playlists and started with David. I listened through all the wolf videos then started the Freelancer. Having all of the Freelancer videos in order on one playlist was really nice. I was able to listen while doing other things and not have to stop to search for the next video.

mylooo

i usually tell them to start with fl season one or the wolves and lmk if they have any questions💀 i jumped around videos so much before i realized there were character playlists and had to piece everything together in the worst way, not ur fault, i just didnt know better💀💀 i listened to everything out of order, so the main take away is just keep to the playlists lmao

Ollie

I would say David or Vincent to start. They are the oldest and have the most traction. Then process to the freelancer series. Then to Milo and Sam and everyone else. They all connect

Mikayla

I personally started out with Vincent and then moved into the wolves and then D.A.M.N however I think the opposite would be better! Starting out with the D.A.M.N crew, specifically Gavin or Damien would probably help quite a lot in understanding what was going on. Then moving into the wolves because they kind of feel like a separate entity and then the vamps. I feel like you need to understand the foundation and the DAMN crew do a really good job of explaining all of that. That way when you listen to anything else it is easier to fill in the gaps because to be honest the wolves don’t really like going into detail with issues because they all LOVE handling things themselves and putting their lives at risk. Especially because the listener is Un- empowered. And the Vamps talk A LOT and use a lot of vocabulary that the listener might not understand especially with the gravity of the situations they find themselves in (Adam, Quinn, Turning, Sam in general).

E.Kirriel

Definitely Freelancer s1 & Vincent’s playlist. I found the channel through Vincent’s “first” video being recommended, and then I jumped back and forth between his playlist and Freelancer s1, with some wolf boys sprinkled in for *flavor*. After that is a good place to start digging in to Avior, Elliott, Marcus, etc.

Joanna Sports

Honestly, I think just starting in chronological order is best for me. Whether it's chronological order of the individual videos or the order the characters first appeared on the channel, that should give you an adequate build up and proper introduction to all the mechanics and plot points. I'd say just the order the videos were published in, but either way, I think it works.

Taylor

Speaking as someone who just recently found your channel(literally less than a month ago) I feel the Freelancer season 1 playlist is a good starting point. It has multiple characters and explains the basic lore and how things work in this universe. I actually started with David’s audios and then ping ponged around from there. It wasn’t until the freelancer audios I really figured out that even the “Normie” boys were apart of the universe too. Hope this helps!🙂 Love this world and the characters you’ve created! ❤️

SwanNorth

I started with Vincent and then Freelancer, both are pretty good to entry points.

Galleywinter

The answer to this got a lot messier after Inversion (not that I'm at all complaining because *my dude*). But I've gotten a couple of people into your content pre-Inversion, and I told them to start with Vincent because he was a good crash course to the lore and the setting (because he essentially info-dumps a lot of basics at Lovely after the incident with Adam), and he didn't directly touch any other plotlines. Vincent's a good barometer, really. Then, if they liked Vincent, I would tell them to hit up the wolf boys. I did make up a listening order for that, just for ease, because that really is where you started putting in plotlines that directly interwove and touched, and it was a more enriching experience to listen to them in a way you could pick up on it all (though it's also valid - again, pre-Inversion - to listen to each of the wolf boys as a whole, separate playlist). Then I went and worked out a functional listening order for those friends that started with DAMN and ended with The Balance and then Avior. The problem truly is that all of the plotlines that intersect with Inversion makes it a little messier to try to guide someone new through because there's now a point in each playlist where you would have to tell someone new "Listen to this playlist up to this specific point, then stop" in order for things to have the proper dramatic and emotional weight. I know that I went looking for a listening order list when I found your channel. I know the DAMN Season 1 playlist was *immensely* helpful when I finally made it through Vincent and the wolf boys (though I knew to take a detour to Ivan only because the friend who introduced me to your content had talked to me about Echo, so I realized I'd missed something important when I hit The Cost. So I paused DAMN and caught up with Ivan and Echo before resuming.). Honestly? A season-style playlist not unlike DAMN or a pinned community post (if that's something that can be done), with a suggested listening order might not be a bad idea. So many of your plotlines *do* intersect and are so layered and nuanced and are that much richer for having the understanding of it all. And, not to beat a dead horse, but Inversion also changes the game. I can't imagine listening to Inversion without having listened to all of the plotlines at this point; I feel a new listener truly would be a little lost or confused and feel like they'd missed something without having done that.

Emi

I started when you had Vincent's first video/s out, didn't really get into it but stumbled across David's first Video which really intrigued me. It's not the stereotypical Stuff but rather a new take that made it so interesting for me, so I began to allow myself to try Vincent's video again with that new mindset and enjoyed it a lot more! In my opinion the best way for new people to start in regards of popular likings is probably Gavin> to the Freelancer/DAMN Storyline. It's big but it's really interesting and has multiple ways to look at it, especially with non Canon love story's that you can follow if you like someone more than friendship wise. But then again my heart will always go with The Pack and the Clan. Given that those were my starter points. Also it's important to not think that new viewers would dive in head first story wise but that they hear names and get to know stuff through their fav. Character which lead them to being more story interested. I love all the Story's and connections so much, for my daydreamer brain it's some really fine food and I'm glad that I've been in it for a year now.

Abby Mae

probably Vincent's Playlist or S1 Freelancer. to me the Freelancer series could be a good one to start on if you're ready for it. like it's a great intro to the world and the different powers of the characters, but it could be alot to take in all at once. lots of characters and subplots for each of them could initially be a bit much to start out with. so in turn Vincent's would be a good one to start with, its just one character with lots of development and still gives good insight to the world and different powers. especially with the listener being latent with electric energetic abilities.

Lina Mellbo Cedermyr

Chronological order I'd say, but Freelancer season 1 or David/Asher/Milo are also a good starting point if one were to look for a specific place to start.

Violet

I jumped around in your videos but I def think DAMN universe is the best to get a feel on the overall videos. And then to learn more about the vampires or werewolves part of the universe, you’d do Vincent and David first. The Brachium, the Android Listener, and Elliot are almost like side plots to me that still affect the rest of the universe but I will say that a person could go through the other audios and then listen. I will add a caveat that I still need to get through the Inversion series so I could be missing a lot.

Mojo

I found Vincent’s videos first, then went into the playlists and jumped around based on what I was in the mood to listen too - landed on Milo and fell in love/obsessed and now I’m listening to everything using the playlists as a guide on what comes next

kenzie smith

Coming from my personal preference I started with David and moved around but if you are looking for a starting point I would suggest lasko he is a sweet boy and he is just that calming person to ease you into everything but whatever works for you

MerMep

I believe from my own experience that the Freelancer season 1 is a great entry way into the content of the channel

Adena Folly

Okay thinking about it some more, I feel like it might be best to find someone's hook. Are they really into vampires, or werewolves, or magic academy stories (etc)? Use that as the starting point and once they're invested more in the world they can branch out to other series, or even go back to the start and watch everything in chronological order of release. I did end up watching everything from oldest to newest, but my hook was the Freelancer season 1 series, and after watching that I wanted to learn more about the world and other characters in it. Some stories may or may not be the best places for someone to start out on as far as gaining a solid understanding of the universe they're in, but if that's the character they really resonate with then it will make them curious and want to branch out to see what else there is.

Tsuna

I personally think, that Freelancer series are the best to start with, because it shows more about magic side of the world and explains a lot of details. I started with David and Vincent's series (mostly because there were no D.A.M.N series yet) and I love this stories, but also I feel like Elliott's series (which I'm waiting and very excited for) will be important in future

Just Maya

I've recommended David and/or Vincent's playlists to a few friends. My reasoning is that vampire/werewolf boyfriend isn't a new trope so I feel it's easy for new listeners to immerse themselves into the story quicker. And both David and Vincent overlap with enough characters that I feel new listeners can organically discover new story lines to listen to. That's just been my experience though.

mela.ncholy.kaleidoscope

I started with Vincent, then I think I moved into David and straight into Freelancer...with the first video being Gavin in the 7/11..I'm pretty good at following story lines, so I wasn't too confused...I also rewarch videos if I feel like I've got something wrong or missed something. Freelancer's series I feel is really good if you're looking to start, especially since you are learning about the magical world WITH the listener...Than I'd recommend vincent. David, Asher, and Milo are great for individual characters. Avior and Sam, are probably better for ppl who know more about the world already. Sam's beginning might lack some information with the absent of bright eyes videos.

SanPerSe

I actually started my "active listening journey" quite recently, after having encountered some of your videos on youtube (it was a quite random selection of characters in no particular order), so I can speak from the experience of a "latecomer", I guess? I definitely second the "freelancer season 1" sentiment in the comments. Listening to it made me feel like I got a good grasp of the world and all the different types of characters that populate it. Alternatively I'd suggest the early part of the Vincent playlist, if people would rather stick to one character in the beginning. I found that one very easy to get into as well.

Iris Thorne

I started with Vincent and right now on Asher. It really depends on my mood but I love all the characters so far. I would say Vincent is a very good start. His character is really good at explaining the story and meanings behind everything.

ejunkiette

When I rec the channel, I say to start with either Vincent and/or Davey, and then when specific elements get mentioned (i.e. other characters, or the D.A.M.N academy), start introducing other characters and plot lines. So it usually goes Davey -> Asher -> Milo -> Sam ; Vincent -> D.A.M.N season one -> Sam (all lines end at Sam..) It works, as it roughly follows the channels chronology, without being overwhelming to new audiences, and both Davey and Vincent are excellent introductions to world. <4

Kayla

Though it might depend on the person. I might want to ease some friends into our favorite Incubus and start with Vincent first. That way by the time they get to the Freelancer's story they'll be so into Redacted they don't blink.

Eleanor Curtis

I started with Vincent and then seeing all the other videos, watched he’s the freelancer series. I then went back and watched each character on their own to make sure I’d heard everything and knew the characters. Then I watched all of the other series / characters that weren’t quite involved with those particular characters

Tepid Judas

Oh I've thought a lot about this. I think there are three different ways to start. If someone is more interested in magic/lore while also wanting a fun and diverse cast of characters and/or a story with a "clear" plot line, Freelancer Season 1 is definitely a good starting point. The POV of FL as someone who has never been exposed to the magical side of society serves a great function to an audience who hasn't experienced the magic of your world. (I know that that's the case with most listener characters, but FL is literally going to school for it all. /lh) The same thing can be said about Vincent's playlist. Lovely, being Latent, has that same perspective as new listeners to your world of magic. It's definitely a different side of magic and explanations due to the different ways Vamps view it compared to DAMN, but he still gives enough content and context to get a good understanding of magic (with Adam's arc thrown in for a bit of ✨spice✨ /j). The other one would be the wolves, but even among them, it's tricky to find a starting point. I kinda wish that there was a Wolf Shifter playlist of all three of them in chronological order so that people don't have to bounce between all three playlists. (I know that that's quite an undertaking. I've been meaning to make my own for a while lol). However, because of the less-intense nature of his audios and the brief explanations of characters and shifting magic, Asher is a really fun starting point. I usually don't recommend Ivan as a first to anyone unless they just want Yandere stuff, or they're willing to listen to FL S1 before or alongside it due to the overlap. The Balance is lore-heavy and gets dark quickly, so it's one that I'd say requires some knowledge of the world before starting. Avior works in some ways as a starting point with his explanations of magic, Aria, Elegy, etc, but Starlight already has a base-level understanding, so it leaves the listener at a disadvantage if they don't. And then all the other questions arise because of how little either character truly knows about the Meridian. I started with one of Sam's audios, so I can say from personal experience that that is confusing as fuck /lh (it wasn't even his first audio. It was the Bloodbound one lol). But it did serve the purpose of getting me curious about the world building, so that was good. Aaron and Ollie are wonderful and real and anyone at anytime can watch those. Those audios make me so insanely happy I stg (but obviously, lore-wise, there's nothing there for people to really get confused about except, maybe, that little Ivan "Easter Egg.") All-in-all, you have a lot of variety, and it's amazing. There's content for anyone, but that can get confusing easily. My top three starting point recommendations are Vincent (but skipping his prequel audio until later because then it can hurt properly lol), Freelancer S1, and Asher. Hope this helps!

Elliott K.

Depends on everyone’s taste but in these past few days I have introduced 4 new people to your Channel starting them with Vincent’s “meeting a flirty stranger at an amusement park”. I thought for those who aren’t used to listening to xlistener content or even those who know nothing about the world, starting with a “blast from the past” will give them context if they listen to more later on. Also it’s a very friendly video and doesn’t have much in the sense of relationship building with the listener character. I’m probably a little bias starting them all with Vincent though because he is one of my top three favorite boys. I started off with some random video and just clicked on whichever felt right for the moment, but when I realized the plot lines and information you’d need to know from previous episodes I started going down the playlist. I’ve finished two/ almost three playlist, and hope to start on the rest. I’m so grateful for your hard work and the finale was everything I hoped it to be. I cried every night for these past 3 nights because of the beautiful story. So thank you.

Siren Shadow

Admittedly, I started with the Vincent series (I was looking for Vampire audio videos, and the first one popped up). I'm a big fan of vampires, and the fact that Vincent was The First of the characters was an instant pull for more. But if I had to pick a different starting point, I'd recommend Caelum, for two reasons: 1. Because when I first watched his videos, it was an instant serotonin boost, which everyone could use right about now. 2. While he isn't The First of the Redacted Bois, to me he feels like one of the more major characters in this universe, as he ties a lot more of the characters together.

Oracle

So I started with Vincent then headed DAMN and that lead to the school mates and everyone there. Sam then led me back to the pack. One thing I noticed is that some people hadn't seen the Balance storyline at all because up to this point I'd hasn't crossed over yet,

Melinoe

I think probably the Freelancer season 1 is the best way to get into it. it’s how i started listening and it was perfect because it was literally an intro into the world for someone who had never known about it.

Dreamshade

I’d probably recommend Freelancer’s season 1 as a starting point—it’s a good place to absorb your worldbuilding and showcases all the interconnected-ness that makes your content so engaging, so I think that would give people a pretty good feel for the channel overall. Other than that… I’d say Vincent’s storyline (sans Inversion) is the most self-contained out of the main cast (compared to the wolves, at least), and would also be a good place to start. (I think Avior and Marcus are also pretty self-contained, though I appreciate Avior a lot more with worldbuilding context given elsewhere and the themes in Marcus’s audios might not appeal to everyone).

Polae

Hands down, freelancer series because it's told from the perspective of someone who's new to the magic world so there's lots of content bits that explain how the world works.

L.L

Hmmm, I'd say Caelum would be the best to start with and the DAMN series probably. It's one cohesive story and ends up branching out to the others.

Oracle

But generally it seems that the interconnectedness of the narrative will eventually get a listener around the playlists. But a good entry point might be Vincent as his leads directly into DAMN or Davids because his leads into the rest of the pack so quickly.

Tiffany

My first video that I randomly found one night was Vincent- Flirty Vamp Comforts After Bite. It's a good start into lore with main character. Flirty Vamp talks you through the Aftermath is another great first lore video. I would say start with Found by Flirty Vamp (the channel's first video) through the Aftermath. Next, I listened to Asher. I think he's a good intro to the Shaw pack. When I listened to the first David video, I thought he came off way to abrasive, and I almost didn't try listening again, however I did once I realized the stories are all connected. Sweet w

Wonka79

Def DAMN/ freelancer, involve all the basics to learn about the world you created.

kattt

Personally, I started with Freelancer S1 and it gave me a good understanding of the world in general and got me interested in all the individual characters! I assume starting with David or Vincent would also be great for people who enjoy more "classic" fantasy stories.

Tiffany

Asher's first two videos- Sweet Werewolf plays around with you and Gives you a pep talk are good intros to the Shaw pack. I recommend starting with Vincent, then Asher, then Freelancer season 1 for full immersion into lore.

Trashianna

I found your channel through Gavin actually. I remember after I had listened to all of his files at the time I had heard a number of names thrown out which led me to listen to other characters. I think I went to probably Caleum next and then to David. At some point I listened to Vincent and that was basically how I started. I think probably the best places to start are any of the freelancer listener files or David or Vincent I think. You really get to learn a lot about the world and I think all of those files have really great intro videos since for new listeners, they aren't super lore heavy until a few more files in. You also get introduced to other characters pretty quickly which encourages you to explore their files as well. I think any of those ones are good for newcomers for their gradual world building and how connected they are to other characters

BatQueen

I have introduced a few friends either through Vincent or through David. Then from there into Freelander 1

Shana

I feel like a mix of Vincent's and the Freelancer series seems like a good place to start. I first started out with Vincent's Imperium video back in November, I didn't know what was going on and thought that it was just some interesting script, but then i got recommended Vincent's story and came to realize that you were doing a whole series and listened through the whole thing. Vincent's explanation of the whole magical world may have come late in the series, but the whole story in general already had me hooked and wanting to learn more about the world you've built.

Andie

The first season of D.A.M.N is probably the best introduction for the world building since there's loads of info in the earliest videos

RebeccaDW

I would advise someone to start with the most fleshed out characters, or the ones with the most content. Vincent and/or David. Also, they are two different types of characters werewolf and vampire. Their storylines alone can give you a lot of detail and insight to the world and what's going on. Gavin is also another great starting point. Or the Freelancer Season 1 audios. These give a great jumping off point to the other characters you have created. After that, I would say it's dealers choice. They can go down whichever rabbit hole they choose. I know all of the audios are in the same world, just some of the storylines can stand alone, because they don't really tie into anything else.

Tiffany

After that, I would recommend The Balance storyline, introducing Elliott, Brachium, and the Closeknit cult. Followed by Avior's storyline. By then, you have a good base of lore to understand his "advanced level" of lore, how I like to think about it.

Tianna Taylor

I would say to start with pack audios or freelancer audios

Redd

I would say the first season of D.A.M.N really paints a good picture of the universe. Then if they would want a deeper look into the good and bad of it they could go to Vincent’s storyline.

Devila May Care

I found Vincent and Davey first. Those were good, but FL series is a good start

Arizona

Absolutely Vincent’s storyline. That was where I started and it honestly was helpful running the parallel that Lovely did in terms of finding out everything about the universe while also really getting to know one character first instead of jumping all around to others. Otherwise, maybe the freelancer season 1? It’s so hard bc so many people have different things that they like and varying levels of loyalty, for lack of a better word, to the things they watch online. If you want people to be heavily involved, I vote Vincent. If you want people to be more casual about how they view and interact with the content then maybe they should just jump around all over the place until they land somewhere they like. I’m sure it would be an easier question if there was less content to choose from lmaoooo

Allison Posey

I introduced a friend to this amazing world through Vincent’s videos first, Asher’s Second, David’s third, Sam’s fourth and they are still catching up on those videos as they are pretty busy so they haven’t got to get into the DAMN/Freelancer series yet. When I first started watching the videos I also started with Vincent and it took me awhile before I started listening to other characters I was really hooked on Vincent alone but I heard other names such as Sam and Will and so I slowly started to test the waters with I believe David’s videos and then Asher’s and it took off from there like a rocket, I got obsessed with every story and have listened to every single video many times over.

The stinky cheese man

I was about to say, this was exactly how I was recommended to get into it and it was great for me...! Vincent and then Davey as starting points, gradually bringing in the rest of the wolf pack as I went (Milo's intro arc remains my favourite thing ever), and then Sam (totally a member of the wolf pack). Vincent's is a great lead into the freelancer series too, because it gives you an introduction to the concept of the school through Lovely which I eventually followed up in the lead up to the EE games...! The suggestions that have been coming out in the comments about three potential starting points, depending on preferences (Vampires, Werewolves or magic(al school)) is a great idea, though! Just knowing that there are three ways in, but they can all be picked up whenever you're ready, might help new starters, so it doesn't seem so immense to dig into (gloriously immense, I mean)

Frostylurv

I started with Vincent's after I stumbled into asmr rp and his is very easy to follow but I think it would be easier for ppl to follow the damn/freelancer playlist/video(long video) and them branch out from there.

Teafairy

I accidentally wandered into the middle of Freelancer S1 and met Gavin so I went back to the beginning of Freelancer. After that I did Vincent.

Othello

I stayed with Lasko, then Vincent. I’d say the elementals/Freelancer and then Vincent. It gives a great overview of you universe and you writing/speaking style.

Dreamshade

I also wanted to mention—it might really help if the other characters had seasons, like Freelancer? Especially after Inversion; that way a listener could stop after watching Vincent’s videos, then watch David/Asher/etc., enter Inversion with all the necessary context, and eventually proceed onward from that event with their favorite character(s).

SebCastellanYES

I’d start with Asher tbh. It’s a nice intro to the character and to David. Either him or Gavin. To me they had the most pull to get me into the universe. My first was Ivan so maybe it depends on what the person you’re introducing everything to is into.

sunflowerspirits

100% agree with a lot of the other comments here lol, I started with Vincent's storyline as well.

Lindsey Turner

I would say start with the first video you posted and go in order that you posted cus like you say after a while you need info from other videos to make sense of it all. I started with the wolf pack first then Vincent then freelance. I feel like the video where Vincent explains everything after being attacked is a good starting point for Freelancers videos.

CaperBelle Audios 💘

I first found your channel via sleep help (ridiculous insomnia). I listened to the Vincent one (April 2021) and I fell asleep deeply but only after you'd stopped talking at the end letting it run so naturally, you really nailed the whole thing and it actually worked (and a huge thank you for that). Next day I looked back at what/who it was and listened to random videos from your channel and was already stunned by the sheer amount of work that went into them, the whole depth, the acting, the script etc becoming increasingly in awe how you were on a completely different level to anything I'd heard before, anywhere. It only took a few randoms to fathom they were interlinked at that point so I literally began from the beginning. I've never done that before either but it was the best decision watching how it all unfolded from the start, and caught up around mid Imperium. So...for me I'd have said start from the beginning in order of creation, else with Vincent for the sheer fact it was your very first one and where it all began and shoots off in all directions very quickly and pulling them all in. Seriously well done with all of it and look after you! The sheer amount of work involved on so many levels inside/out is far from as easy as you make it sound in the results and you'll always be supported ❤️🦋x

CiCisaurus

I actually plopped right into the imperium au. It came up as a recommended video.. The wolf pack audio was my gateway. Mind you, I didn't know what I was getting into and binged all of imperium. It piqued my interest cause of how dark it was. Then I decided to listen to Vincent's audios and the rest is history. If someone's into dark themes and the "downer ending" trope, I highly recommend starting the imperium.

YukoLion135

I think I started with the wolves (David, Asher milo) then Vincent and just played the freelancer season 1 and 2

Litlkim

I often try to see what they’re looking for. If they are looking to get introduced to the general kind of content on the channel, I would say Vincent or David. I feel they are the two OG characters. Maybe that’s because I’ve been around that long, they are what got me hooked and led me to all the other characters. But if they are looking to learn as much as possible and plan on watching all your content, I’d agree with most that Freelancer #1 is best. BUT, I personally tell new viewers to watch the extended videos you’ve created, as opposed to, the playlists. The added details you’ve included are extremely helpful to newcomers, just like the way you set up Ivan’s 5 hr video. Many of us already know those details or where to find them on Discord. All that info is hard to navigate if you’ve just found it.

Tea Czarownica

I started listening to your channel over a year ago and also stumbled upon Vincent first. Although when introducing my friend, I showed her the Freelancer storyline. I absolutely love how strongly opinionated the characters were about the world you created. Especially characters like Gavin, Damien and Avior. But I think the Freelancer storyline is the one that offers the biggest diversity of personalities and an introduction to your world with more explanations as to what everything is and how it works (like D.A.M.N. and magical cores) so it saved me a lot of explaining when I talked with my friend about the plots. The other series focus more on individual characters with different character tropes so that comes down a lot more to picking and choosing what you like. I listen to all the plots but I know that some people find certain topics difficult to handle. Overall, when introducing someone, I go for the Freelancer storyline

Vaelum is Canon

I would suggest listening to any of the playlists that the new listener would be interested in, then the Freelancer Season 1 series since it gives a large range of info on the magic lore that that they already have some idea about from the first playlist. After that, I would suggest to go through the werewolves and vampires in any order.

Dylan

I think the freelancer series is probably the best first impression to the world and it explains how everything works pretty well imo

chloe

I started with Vincent then the wolf's starting with David then freelancer

Ellie

Freelancer S1 was where I started, then kinda made my way through the different characters playlists

Gray

Freelancer S1 is probably one of the best series to start with! It introduces you to the world in a way that allows it to function as both a standalone and opener to the rest of the universe. Additionally, since it has an academic setting, it also teaches a lot of the lore without being too overwhelming.

kyrzym

i started out w the gavin videos, mainly cuz his was the first video i encountered. then the freelancer series season 1 playlist with all of the elementals and demons, then vincent, and then the wolves. but i’d say it would be easier to start with either of the three wolves. there’s not many “heavy” topics in those and they’re pretty straight forward, followed by vincent. the freelancer series would be best last since you’d have to watch all of the demons, elementals, and the “sadism’s hold” playlists to understand the plot completely. but since the inversion happened, ig it could be optional to watch “the balance” series for more background info regarding the other other ones like aaron and ollie, those could be optional.

Spunkytaylor

I started with Freelancer S1 it really help introduce everything then I moved to the wolves and Vampires then the balance series then Freelance season 2

Cinnamon Sugar

Freelancer S1 in chronological order is a perfect starter. You do miss out on Wolves and Vamps, but because everything is new to Freelancer, we get to learn alongside them.

Abs

I found davids playlist first, and I think the wolf bois all have great stand alone videos to go through. If I had to recommend a character or mini series to start on though, it would probably be the freelancer series - as all the videos in s1 are in order, both in a playlist and the complete s1 video, it’s super easy to watch. That series also introduces a bunch of amazing characters, so Im sure any newcomer would be able to find they like at least a couple of them (also seeing as freelancer has little to no knowledge of the magical world, it’s a great way for listeners to learn how the powers and kinds of empowered people work, because it’s already being explained in the videos.)

Calico

I would say freelancer S1 and 2, as well as the playlist for Davey!!

Acheron

When introduced my best friend to your channel I recommend they start with Vincent, personally he was the first character I listened to and I think he’s a good beginning, his and lovely’s storyline is easy to follow and it gives you a good sense of what’s going on in the world, at least it did for me. I basically went in order and then told them to go for David second (but honestly that might have been biased bc he’s my favorite and I was eager to have them fangirl with me over him). I genuinely think that those two characters are probably the best starting points because they are the OGs, they have the most content so you get to immerse yourself more into the world without getting to overwhelmed. From then on I think people should have a good general idea of the world and how it works, and if they want even more story building, then listening to either all of Freelancer #1 is a must or Gavin would be the way to go.

Abby

I started with Vincent and Lovely. And went on from there

mila

Idk why but starting with Vincent gives me the same vibe as starting the marvel universe with Captain America. I'm gonna go with my gut...

jasmeme

i’ve been pondering over this question a bit. (long time listener, first time commenter) my first inclination was Vincent’s storyline since i’m so attached to it personally. but i’m also biased in that notion. but i also realize that in terms of content that story ramps up pretty quickly with the Adam part so it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. i still think it might be a good starting point because of the aftermath video’s explanation & how its not too much darker than most other things on the channel (sans inversion i guess) the last time i introduced someone to your content i told them to start with Asher’s… and i think that there’s a more light hearted start there & it mentions the other members in the pack as like a fun lil bonus until you get to listening to David & Milo’s stuff. an easy leap into the world would be the Freelancer’s story for sure but at least listening to it back when it was coming out every so often allowed for time to process all the new information as it came out was helpful! i don’t know if the feeling is the same if listened to in one swoop. the cast is fantastic tho love them all. a special shoutout to Elliot & Sunshine just because i love their storyline so much (although currently its unresolved)

Acheron

Although I should point out that my friend fell head over heals with David and ignored my advice to listen to FL or Gavin and went straight to the rest of the wolf bois 😂

SaraJSweetheart

Id start with tje freelancer series, Even though its a large series, i say this because its easy to listen to, something you can lisyen to like one would listen to an audio book, especially the full S1 video. Then from there, add in Caleum, and Ivan. Then the Vincent/Solaire clan and Were-boi audios, before going onto S2 and inversion. Ive never listened to teh death walker audios, and i could understand inverion without him perfectly well.

PirateCake

Freelancer season 1 is a good starting point, because it explains magic really well. It helps that Freelancer also doesn't know anything so you learn right along with them. Vincent is great for the vampire lore. David and Asher are a good introduction to the werewolves. I would recommend listening to those before starting on Milo and Sam. Sadism's hold and Project Meridian could be a possible starting point, but I personally wouldn't recommend it as a first playlist unless someone really likes yandere stuff. Invisiboi and Geordi don't require too much world knowledge but they probably wouldn't be great to start with. Ollie and Aaron are pretty easy to get into but they won't help with understanding the magical world. Avior and the Balance really need context from other series to fully appreciate them, in my opinion. So I would probably say that Freelancer season 1 is the best start? It's in chronological order and introduces the listener to magic

Nightshade1217

I would definitely say to either start with the freelancer plot line or Vincent's plot line because both explaining things to characters that are now apart of the magic world and yet know nothing about it

Jessthelazyone

i think it all depends on what sort of content you are looking for, i would personally recommend doing it david, vincent, DAMN playlists, ash and then whichever order you want to depending on what sort of content you are looking for

The Cray

I think David is a good starting point coming from someone who first discovered you through David. It just gives a basic, comprehensive introduction into the universe.

AQ_Fox

Vincent's video was what I started with. But honestly the Freelancer story line is my fave so I'm inclined to say start there - especially since it starts with Caelum! Also it is probably the best intro to the magical world with them being a human-born - we learn the world with them.

MJ_1700

Good question Erik, I think it depends on the person. Do they like vampires and wolves then I would recommend Vincent Sam and the wolf boys. If you are looking for a general love of all things magic then the freelance story as you can branch off to the gavin story and caelum, that might be something they never thought they would get into. I think all your stories are accessible for all especially you record it with everyone in mind. Your listeners are diverse and it’s easy to self insert yourself into the story. I’ve found your videos are at a perfect speed and it’s easy not to lose track of the character or story. The fact your stories are so in depth is refreshing you aren’t like most people out there, your world building is insane in the best way. I appreciate you reaching out like this

Brit_a_Filter

One of Milo's audios popped up on my feed so that's who I started with, followed by David, Sam and Vincent. But in terms of a more broad idea of the world of Dalia, I found the D.A.M.N series to be really helpful in getting a grasp of the Universe

Alexandra R

The first series I listened to was Vincent then I listened to the first portion of Freelancer's

Katrina Rainsong

The Vincent/Lovely storyline is what brought me into the channel but the Freelancer arc is what cemented me as a fan. I think they're the best way to discover your storytelling style and be introduced to the Redacted- verse

Salem McAlister

I was introduced to the channel fairly early on with David and Vincent. I think the season 1 DAMN storyline is an excellent introduction though.

Anthea the Tiefling

Its a very good question. Personally, I started by listening to David ( i was sick and needed something to take my mind off) Then Asher, then i did go into the individual playlist for the DAMN bois, which while exellent, i wasn't aware that they were part of an interconnected series untill I saw the Freelancer playlist.

GravityRose

Vincent and Ash were my first exposure and got me hooked. Since I found you last month I have been listening like crazy (I have stayed up till 4am too many times trying to absorb as much as possible prior to Inversion) I found the listing of episodes and rough timeline yesterday on Discord and that has helped me try and link everyone together and when they link…and it helps knowing which aren’t cannon. I really love this world you are creating and am always wanting more. I love the characters and care about what is happening to them. I love being your listener characters because they don’t come across as stupid. I love your voice (you have range!) and the production value is incredible (and I have listened to a lot of media by my age) ;) Thanks for sharing you creativity with us :)

Lindsay

One of your lasko videos had gotten me hooked on your videos after that I dived into your D.A.M.N. Boys series! So I would have to recommend that section/series/group of videos first!

book nerds

I literally found you about 2 weeks ago, by stumbling across a Sam audio, listened to all of Sam’s audios, then moved on to Davey, then Milo then inversion started, I feel like I had a decent understanding of the world purely based on the explanations/context provided during each video. After reading these comments though I will definitely get onto freelancer s1!

Oreo

I listened to Milo at the start when I found one of your videos in my fyp on YouTube so I think on my opinion its a good starting point. Its a good introduction to the universe and storylines etc. :) You really do a lot for us Erik. I adore you, your content and characters. I only just started listening a few months ago. Which is crazy how fast you got me attached to all of your work. You have a wild imagination and i love it! i hope you continue to make content and build up your world to many things everyone will be here to support you throughout everything you do.

levi

Thats actually a good question. I was heavily brought up with the wolf boys, mostly david at that, so if you wanted like a slower start with the whole universe I would say start with David, Milo and Asher. But if I had to say like what series people should really start with it would probably be either DAMN or Ivan's series as they do intertwine alot especially during the end. I kind of had to go back and forth for things to make sense with time and everything.

Thessa

I started with Vincent and that worked out pretty well for me so I'd either say Vincent or the Freelancer series are good options

Chelsea Williams

I would say Freelancer for sure. I jumped around when I first started listening and hurt more than helped. Freelancer is a good intro into the world and then I would follow it up with the Vincent and then maybe David? As for the other story lines, Ivan’s and the Dreamwalker…maybe after season 1 of the freelancer’s story? Or halfway through the first season maybe…

justsomepancakes

I thought I commented already, but I guess I screwed it up. -not that we need more opinions at this point. But: 1. I do believe Freelancer’s season 1 playlist is a really good intro to the world and magic because we are learning it WITH THEM. 2. Also, Vincent’s story is so compelling that it’s a great place to begin. Really Sucks you in- and he explains a lot. 3. If I had to pick a third avenue: a playlist focused on the Wolfpack could be a really interesting starter. It would allow a lot of very popular archetypes to shine in a somewhat cohesive way, with David, Milo, Asher, and Darlin’s videos together in chronological order. Darlin’ videos naturally tie into Sam and the vampires. And even a couple of Caelum’s videos might fit in, because they reference David and Asher. As in, if Caelum’s video talking about helping his "friend" was right before or after “Flustering A Tsundere Werewolf,” people might put the pieces together that he helped David, while also gaining an awareness of the Freelancer plot’s premise. The only downside is that the Wolfpack doesn’t have as streamlined of a plot, compared to some other playlists? More vignette-like in nature? But that’s nice in it’s own way. Not really sure what most people prefer and I don’t want to project my awful lore-hunger onto everyone, lollll.

Oliviazandrite

Freelancer for sure. I personally listened to David's Playlist first but once I got into the story and other characters came in I started the freelancer series

Megan

I was recommended one of David's videos and was hooked. I went back and listen to his playlist (and others) and I heard mentions the names of Asher, Milo, Avior, Marcus, and Sam. After listening to the E&E game series, I got a general idea of the Dahlia Academy and DAMN. I really appreciate the playlists because they are a really nice option.

HotChickenSlaves

Freelancer season 1 for sure, you learn a lot of things from the universe and terminology. You get to know a lot of important characters too. It's a great way to start.

Emma Steiner

Freeeeelanceeeeeer is a really good introduction to the universe. Also Vincent but I’m biased my first video was aftermath and there’s some decent explanations about empowered people in that vid too lol

Flying Icarus

Vincent is the one who hooked me up to all of your channel. His story is very compelling and it really catches the listener's heart. I would 100% recommend it to anyone who needs to be introduced to the channel.

Mimble

My very first video was the Davey confrontation video. What hooked me was the realness of the characters reactions to each other instead of heavily relying on romance tropes and ignoring real feelings. I quickly realized that the Davey audios (at the time, before he matured a bit) weren't my cup of tea and wanted to see what else you had created, choosing the Vincent audios. From there- I kinda consumed everything in my path, ngl.

Char

Marcus. Everyone should start with Marcus. /hj

Char

I think Vincent is a good start, since the listener starts as a sceptic and Vincent has to introduce the world to them, you learn about the school ect. Then Freelancer and Ivan together, since they tie into each other. Then Elliott and Davey for backstory, then the E&E games.

Vaidehi Nanote

I started out with vincent, his videos seem to help roll into all the other charecters 🌸

Unprofessional Cosplays

I usually share the D.A.M.N playlist, cause it's my favourite, or (if they like that sort of thing) Ivan's cause it's completed, but I tell them if they want to full experience, go oldest to newst video. It may take time, but im not sure how else to get it ALL. Cause if they listen DAMN as a stand alone, that's great but they don't get the "omg it's Ivan" twist and vice versa with Ivan as a stand alone, you don't really get the full twist of it being connected with DAMN as you'd never thought the two would be connected. It's very tricky

Layne

Ivan is the character that drew me to your channel, but ultimately it was your voice and skill with it that made me stick around. The one I most like to hear you voice is Vincent, so that's the boi I would recommend. If someone wanted to get into the lore of the world you've created, then I'd recommend the DAMM Series. The cast of characters and the drama and good feels involved is just *Chef's kiss* excellent.

Anisa

I actually started with Asher, and then got introduced to David, and then realized everything was connected

sydney

vincent!! then davey and maybe the rest of the pack! definitely vincent first though i think!

Lynn-Alexandria McKendrick

Sam was the first audio I started with and then went back and caught up with the story.

maiyafinnn

It was Lasko and David for me :0 but I also like Aaron and Asher

smelikakes

Freelancer season 1. We get introduced to a lot of different characters and your incredible world-building.

PamTown

i think i was first introduced with David, then i met Vincent, then Asher and Milo, so i would say the Vincent playlist and the David playlist is good to start off with

Angel

I started with David!!! David, Vincent and Gavin explain a ton!!!

atlas

i mean my first look into this world was david, however it wasn't even his first video so was very much of a fluke and it wasn't a lore heavy video, more of just "relationship-esque" content, so knowing the world wasn't an issue. later i found interest in gavin's whole series, but even then, only watching gavin's playlist there were A LOT of gaps. all that being said, i believe the freelancer series is the best to start with. now all of my opinions on each series: vincents: i think his is really sweet and it's a great look into character growth, however, it is very individual. it's great if you just want to focus on one character, but with inversion, it would be very confusing once you reached that section. however if your goal is only to have a one character storyline, he's great. i also saw the completely valid idea on how vincent's listener, lovely, was new to the magic world, which made him a great introduction point. which is totally understandable and why i think freelancers story is the best to start with, however, it can get very tricky and the whole adam bit can be.. more than a lot for new folks. i definitely think it's a good supplement to the freelancer saga, so you can get a bit of other stories too, but all in all, there's still hold backs for new people. ivan/sadism's hold: ivan's storyline is also very interesting, however it's relationship to the world is not as big or impactful (excluding the cost and later on events ofc) plus some of the characters imperative to the plot are further looked at in other plot lines. i think sadism's hold is very cool, especially to learn more about demons and to see the progression of ivan with vega, however, for one it can be triggering to some, as it has some deep stuff (which isn't bad, but immediately makes it not the best to start with) and magic doesn't obviously come into play until the series is almost closing. any of the wolf boys: very similar to vincents, they are really sweet for more side stories that you can enjoy with the main plot, however a lot of the content is very personal to their experiences, rather than the whole world. i think they, again like vincent's story, offer a great supplement and you can learn more about werewolves and their whole thing, but it's more focused on them, which, no complaints. but it's not the best for lore content, and more for the relationship and magic content. this is mainly from experience as someone who's first character was david. the meridian: a VERY cool storyline that im excited to see more from. however, that storyline also, at the moment, is detached from the world. it's got its own crazy deep plot and stuff which, if you're into android stuff is great, but it doesn't give the full scope. i think if something more on the "sci-fi" story is your thing, definitely go for it. it just is so heavy on its own story, that you won't get much information on the biggest story. any unempowered: very very sweet, but again, it doesn't really relate too much to the world currently. it's very nice though, and as you said "proves you can do some contemporary too" i just think, it gives you no insight to the magical world, which is predominantly your content. any individual characters (vega, invisboi, geordi, sam, avior etc): all very lovely characters who can and have definitely contributed to the story, however i say that as "contributed" not wrote. their stories are very important and amazing, however they do not have the fundamental building blocks that will make the story more comprehendible. imperium: no comment, it's an au. the balance: A VERY cool story and i would argue this is the second best series to start with to understand the world. it has very good storylines and it is very important per the inversion. however, since the main characters (elliott and sunshine) don't live in dahlia (the place where most characters reside) you miss out on a lot of that story. all in all, i believe the freelancer saga genuinely has the best story to learn the most information. and, this is a silly comparison, but similar to a fictional series about cats, "warriors", the main character (firestar/rusty) was introduced to the world as an outsider/stranger. because of this sort of set up, most of the other characters were explaining the world, but in a way that helped move the plot along as well. just as the damn/freelancer series does. freelancer comes in as an outsider and is taught the ways of the empowered world through all kinds of videos. anyways. that is my tedtalk on why i believe the freelancer saga is the best series to start with. thank you LMAO

April

Flirty Vampire series got me hooked. Then from there I listened to every video in chronological order. Yes it did take me a while, but it was worth it! Vincent is the reason why I'm here. 😊

Cassandra M

For me I stumbled on David's first vid and worked my way from there. I think David and Vincent are good starting points as they not only show the range of the stories but the little connections to the wolf pack via David and learning about the world via Vincent and events like the solstice parties got me curious to hop over to Milo, Asher, Sam, etc. And now I'm a mess on the floor waiting for the next vid. xD

pinup dolli

I seem to be a part of the majority. I think the freelancer story line is the one to start with. I personally just went to the very bottom of your playlist and went that way but FL is very well described and has a lot of different type of magic elements.

Vick

Vincent is the 1st 1 YouTube spit at me, and from there I did David, Asher, Milo, Marcus, Aaron, Freelancer series (up until The Cost), Avior, Ivan, Ollie, finished the Freelancer series season 1, Elliott, Brachium, Sam, Blake. It didn't take long for me to catch up on all the videos, so after I finished The Balance series, I've just been watching in the order you upload.

Pipers

When I first came to the channel I ended up watching Davies stuff first, Went through all the werewolves then the vampires and then I ended up with the freelancer. But I think starting with David first might be the easiest way to ease everyone into it. That’s just my opinion anyway

poe

I think the best story line to start with as a beginner is def the freelancer series. I started with David but realized shit was bigger than a romantic boyfriend series when the d.a.m.n playlist auto played. it gave a great rundown of the world and structure as well as previewing some of the other plot lines. from there i sort of chose if i wanted to get deeply involved or not. eventually i got into the other plot lines when i was waiting for new content from my favorite characters.

Rhi_Rhi

I started with Vincent and then moved on to the freelancer series and then went from there. Either of those is a good place to start I think.

bunnypause

freelancer season 1 - tonnes of lore and characters if you can stand the 8 hour runtime. sadism's hold - the dark parts of flS1. shortens runtime, keeps the lore, misses the fluff. imperium - imo the best display of your writing and va ability, but not so good for people starting out due to the bad first impressions their dark counterparts give. the balance - good for people coming from non-rp asmr bc brachium is a calming presence, and the running water. pretty dark though. project meridian - lore and characters are contained, so you dont need to go looking for additional context or anything in other playlists for single character playlists - avior, sam, vincent, david, caelum and milo are probably the best if you only wanna focus on very few characters at a time when watching. theyre very enteraining and interesting characters (as everyone is), but their extensive playlists also arent SUPER heavy, and they have enough content to go for quite a while. personally i always recommend avior, sam or milo depending on the person's supernatural entity of choice. honestly though, if someone is just looking for something nice that isnt like FULL of lore, id just tell them to pick whatever catches their eye.

Ignits

As I only started listening like 2 weeks ago it was a bit overwhelming to see the amount of content to go through for the complete story. I checked smaller bits at first to see if I want the whole picture. I'd say something small and easy like Ollie for general feel of what the audios are like. Then for the story I'd also say something small like Asher or Milo. Those are shorter and give you some story bits to get you interested to see the bigger plot. I know that a lot of people recommend Freelancer but personally the amount of vids in that series was too intimidating for me to start off with.

Jasmine

I found the channel maybe a year ago? I started with Vincent's storyline, because the very first audio of yours I saw in my recommendations was "Finding a flirty vampire in your bed". I loved your voice, and the scripts, and Vince, so I kept listening. Didn't catch on that there was a larger overarching story until "Flirty vampire talks you through the aftermath". Was very surprised by Vincent's reflection on his part in the listener being kidnapped! At the time, Vince's videos ended around when Lovely first signed up for classes at magic school. I decided to check out more of your stuff since Id enjoyed the vampire audios so much. I started listening to the DAMN storyline, purely because the "incubus" in the video title caught my eye. The first one I watched was the one where Gavin is first introduced (which is a great place to start that storyline). Was surprised that this listener was enrolling in the same magic school as Vincent's listener. I realized that because they had the air elemental guidance counselor in common. By then it had been about a week and I was hooked, and started bouncing around the channel listening to your other stuff. I actually didn't get to any of the werewolf audios until I'd gone through a few others.

Kale

I always recommend Vincent's series. I think it standsalone well from a story perspective, (I think it being one of the firsts helps) and introduces your flavor of magic and magic systems nicely. Most importantly, It gives a good representation of what your stories are like. If I recommend someone Vincent's storyline and they like it they will probably like everything you've made and I can recommend them another playlist that I think they would enjoy that maybe takes a little more explaining/ the story is a little more interconnected. plus, a lot of Vincent's videos are fluffy and easily glossed over if you're not here to listen to 30 audios 😭

Jasmine

I think Vincent or the Gavin videos are the best place to start. Both characters are compelling, with fun videos. And they both have interesting story arcs that are solely about those characters. You don't need to know anything else to follow them. Their stories stand alone, but they also fill in parts of the lore and touch other storylines,, like a sexy bread crumb trail. The wolves are pretty self contained. Aaron and Ollie are self contained. The android and Ivan stories are too (until the end). I don't think Avior's story is as compelling until you're invested in more of the lore. Otherwise you kind of have no idea what the significance of them being trapped is. Elliott's videos are kind of the same way. The story arc there is about the overarching plot, not necessarily the development of the listener's relationship with Elliott. So those are also more compelling once someone is invested in the whole universe.

Nikki 5¢

When I first discovered your channel, David’s audio was what caught my eye and the rest was history lol and then I got into Vincent and Elliot’s. But at the time, each of them only had like 3 or 5 videos. I would say freelancers storyline is amazing since it’s well rounded with a lot of characters and personalities all while getting a good idea of the magic world. The wolf bois would be fun to get into after that and then given the circumstances of where everything is rn, get into the vampire lore and then Elliot’s ! Hopping around would probably make it less intense ? And also getting familiar with all the characters, magic types, and lore. Each character’s storyline def has a good balance of angst and light-hearted feels, can’t go wrong in which character you want to start with hehe I might be biased but Vincent’s videos are *chefs kiss*

CShirSalad

I personally remember finding David and Angel’s story first! From there I soon began to realize that your ASMR had way more story and plot than I previously thought when I found that first video. I had never seen something like that on YouTube before and it is what made me fall so in love with your content and go on many binge listening sprees. Your creative mind and character development is truly so well done I feel like even aspiring writers can feel what it means to tie plot lies and characters together without making it overwhelming to readers. I personally think it might be best for a first time listener to find one of the voices or “species” (werewolf, vampire, daemon, etc.) they like hearing the most and then from there they will get more attached to and curious about the overall interconnections! But if it’s someone who comes in and wants to know story threads first (especially with the recent heavy plot) then I’m thinking freelancer season one (which I pretty much watched last and caught up on right before inversion) would be a great place to start! Maybe suggest stopping near friendsgiving and then going to explore other characters if they want more of a character roadmap so to speak before getting to the heavy stuff :)

Victoria N

I was drawn into the wolf/vampire universe because it was the easiest to understand. The DAMN storyline is great, but it's more complicated than the others because you need to know all the ins and outs of how that type of magic works--in fact, I stayed away from it for a while because I was scared I couldn't follow it. It all depends on people's interests, of course, and I just happen to prefer werewolves and vampires anyways, but yeah, I think it takes time to understand the world building for DAMN and the daemonic storylines :)

I feel like David is a good intro character, his content is comprehensive of the world, he has awesome character development, and while he doesn’t interact with a ton of the other characters, he mentions things in a way that is easy to follow since Angel is human. Him and Vincent, but depending on the person Vincent’s stuff does get intense fast. Asher as an intro plot line character for the same reasons as David but without the gruff and grumpy at the beginning. Those would be my top 3

crybabybxtch

i would start with vincent, david, asher, then milo cus they’re the easiest to understand and that’s what i did. the DAMN series is much more complex and the vamp/wolf series mesh together very well

Pumpkin spiced brick

I started with Vincent and then moved on to the Freelancer playlists and Elliot. The FL storyline was a little daunting, mostly bc of how many characters are involved, but it also gives a lot of insight on how the magical world works. If someone wanted a softer, less lore heavy start maybe David or Asher?

I think I discovered your channel back in Sept. 2020, starting with David and Vincent. I think they’re a good introduction because they focus on individuals. Freelancer Season 1 would be a good next step, as it expands on the world-building of those earlier videos. However, I also remember, in those early days, the then-unresolved Ivan series, a non-supernatural storyline (or so we thought). Listening to the Vincent, David, and Ivan series as you were making them, learning about the demonic world through the Freelancer, and circling back to Ivan via Vega was a wild ride. It still seems like a lot but I think David-Vincent-Ivan-Freelancer S1 is the Redacted sampler that’s going to give a new listener a good idea of the stand-alone-yet- interconnected narrative experience they can look forward to.

Bonnie

My first thought was start with Freelancer, because that was the storyline that hooked me. But when I first started listening there was only a handful of audios, so that wasn't anywhere near as time consuming as it would be now

Sarah Velez

To be honest, I have seen every one of your videos and never viewed it as individual series. I assumed it was all just one world one series and that each of the paths taken by characters were all just events that happened either simultaneously or at different points in time. The only things that were separate to me were the ones that had to do with Freelancer's love interests and I saw those as what ifs. I think no matter where you take this realm, I will be on board to see it all.

BlueWaves

when i introduce you to someone i give freelancer season one then i tell them to start with the oldest playlist aka Vincent playlist

Pippin Green

Freelancer seems like a good intro to the world, especially since there are many moments when freelancer is being introduced to the world. Though Vincent and David feel like good starting points as well, just different corners of the story, if that makes sense.

Yuzik

I'd vote for Freelancer, as that's what I started with because neither vampires or werewolves interest me that much. However I would've really appreciated a full playlist of all relevant videos ordered by release date/story timeline. Once I started checking out the other playlists and figured out they are all connected, I tried to listen to them somewhat in order because I hate missing references but got myself confused and spoiled some because there are so many different collections and it's not obvious what is what until you go through it, and then it's too late. For example the Valentine episodes really threw me because I had no idea they were flashbacks and made no sense until I read the comments and listened to the rest of their storylines (maybe this is just my problem, idk). So while they do work as standalone series, and of course it depends on personal taste what catches your eye, some sort of a guide for those who want it all without accidentally spoiling themselves or missing out on context would be nice :)

If you go to Erik's main channel page, click on the 'video' tab. To the right of the page you will see a 'sort by' drop down button. Click the option 'Date added (oldest)' and you'll have everything he's made in running order❤️🦋x

Honestly, I think freelancers storyline. Even though I was hooked in through Vincent and Davey’s plot lines, I think that starting with the introduction of D.A.M. N with a human-born POV really enriches the fantastical world you have created. It goes into a variety of different magic users (i.e, different elementals, demons, daemons, ect) and also the societal and social system within Dahlia. It also allows people who are new to the channel a lot of options of characters to test out (tsundere cutie damien, himbo of my heart Hux, deflective sweetheart Gavin, Anxiety ridden sub Lasko). The insight also gives us a little brief into tension between human born magic welders and those born into magic (as well as their individual customs), the stigma that society has inflicted upon demons and how they are viewed. The list goes on. Regardless of what you may like– werewolves, vampires, possessed humans, demons– viewers who enjoy the meshing of fantasy within a regular world, will fall in love with the world you have created Erik. And though, I like some people, may not have seemed to be into certain plot line, the way that each story somehow connects to another– like Callum bringing Davey and Angel together, Darlin being from the Shaw Pack and Sam belonging to the Solaire Clan– and that alone teases us to test the waters with something we may not typically be into. It’s brilliant craftsmanship and I wholeheartedly appreciate every bit of it.

Sienna

The freelancer storyline was the one that I started with. It filled me into most things and season one was a good amount of content to chew on. Now that the inversion has happened, there is a further connection into the wolves/vampires. I really love rewatching that season 1 video even now :)

Kenzie

I would start with David and Vincent’s audios.

ash

i can’t remember whether i started with vincent or david but after that as in my nature i started from the beginning and switched to going through each playlist. now i’ve watched everything i would say that if you’re not going through the individual characters and want a good place to start story wise, freelancer would be perfect for knowledge on D.A.M.N and how magic works and the different forms it takes and Avior for lore on magic. Me, Myself if i had just found you know would start from the beginning. If you can, do. It’s so incredibly worth it but of course mind tags and skip over videos that aren’t for you. My favourites are David, Milo, Vincent and Avior if that helps :)

pllatypus

Vincent's would be the best in my opinion. I think that one above all the others does a good job of introducing the listener into the world and making the listener a part of the world while still mostly being self contained. It also doesn't shy away from the heavier stuff that can be on this channel. And while lovely having fantastical powers over lightning can be seen as unrealistic, for me it does a good job of nudging the listener into thinking about the world you have made.

Rogha

I know a lot has been said already but for getting into the story I love the wolf Bois but their videos aren't really lore/story heavy maybe Milos when he met sweetheart. Freelancer would be a good one. Elliot/Brachium and Vincents. Blakes is short and gives a lot on history and demon/daemon lore. And the DUMP videos either in the middle of watching everything else story-wise or at the end. And then watch all the others on your own time if you wish to do so.

macarøn

i personally think the freelancer’s story is a good starter. it introduces the world of magic from a human-born perspective, it talks about demonism and daemonism very early, it introduces the setting of the universe where empowered people have to keep covert, and it introduces a wide variety of characters that are all impactful. (no i’m not biased what are you talking about lol)

Faun

I personally found you through Vincent and then David soon after but it was the whole D.A.M.N/Freelancer series that really got me into the rest of your channel, it’s a really big world meaning if you see even just one video it’s easy to get into everything else ^^

Bambiiblood

Since you created playlists for each character I recommend finding a character you enjoy and then listening to the audios for them and continuing with other characters you enjoy and the story naturally builds on its own! I started when Vincent came out then Davey, since theres so many characters to choose from it's easy to find multiple you enjoy!

Lovely Deviant Alyssa

That's a really interesting question! And one that could have a variety of answers, depending on personal preference. But if I had to answer the question, solely based on my own opinion and experience with the content: I'd say that Vincent's playlist is a great place to begin. I think it introduces the listener to the empowered world in a way that is so cool! (Though, I fully admit, I may be more than a little biased here, because of my own personal experience ❤️ The first Redacted content I ever watched was a Vincent video, followed by the entire Vincent playlist. And I love Vampire/Human romances, so that premise pulled me into the channel, and I gladly haven't looked back since 🥰) Following that, I'd suggest the Freelancer Series, Season One Compilation video. It covers so many different characters, and facets of the magical world... It's amazing! The whole story rocks. Plus, if any other mentioned characters, forms of magic, or plot events catch the listener's attention... That could easily carry them through to other character playlists! Then, to top it all off, I would point towards Ollie or Aaron's storylines — Because who doesn't love a dash of contemporary romance in the mix!? 💖 That would be my rundown of where to start with it all 👍

Moss

I was introduced with Ivan’s storyline first, which made it really confusing since I had no idea who Gavin or Caelum were since I listened to them in order. So I watched both of them to get more context and fell into the rabbit hole of all the content trying to put the pieces together in terms of the world. In all honesty I think the freelancer storyline is the most cohesive in terms of establishing what all the world has in store just by briefly mentioning a little of everything. Plus it allows you to get introduced to the most amount of empowered people compared to all the other storylines. Huxley,Gavin,Lasko,Damien,Kody(ew), Xavier (rip homie), etc. They are not only great ways to be introduced to the world but in general they all feel like they’re real people whether they’re interacting with one another or with the freelancer. I love them all (except kody lol)

LexB

I started out with Vincent. It was a recommended video and it was a good one that slowly introduced me to the world you made. And then I did some digging in your video playlists and found Asher, that was a better next step because he’s so safe and reassuring. Then I met the elementals. It felt like I was being introduced to magic for the first time and like I was just meeting these new people. As if it was IRL. Everyone’s different but I like that I was slowly introduced to something new and totally different from the norm. It let me process everything at my own pace -Lex

seringat

Vincent's storyline is best one to start, for me. I didn't know anything about the chanel when I discovered Vinny, but I understood lots of things thanks to him. Then, I listened to David playlist, and continued on with Gavin. I think these three characters are the "basics" of your world. We get introduced to all kind of magic and beings, it's really easy and fun to understand ! Then, almost any character can fit, and you can enjoy the entire story from playlists to playlists ! As always, your doing an amazing job, thanks for everything you already produced, can't wait to see how everything is going to go !

cat

i personally started w vincent but i feel like watching fl's season one and the ivan series would be a better starting point

Grayson

Like most people on here, I started with Vincent. I think following how you uploaded is a good start since the storylines get more elaborate as time goes on and as the listener you can see the world building pretty clearly in sequence. I also go with audios I'm interested in but when I hear about something I know that is elaborated on in another series; The Cost being involved in Ivan's storyline for example, I pop over to that series and give it a listen as well to get the full context. Overall, I think Vincent is a good start followed by David and the Freelancer series. They're kinda the big three in my mind since they showcase different types of magic in the world. Other characters can easily fall into the storyline as they are mentioned and if the listener is interested.

Lia Hegarty

I started with David. I think it is a perfect gateway storyline because it starts out isolated and that slowly introduces some other characters in the world. After David and listened to Asher and milo and from there you have a pretty clear under of the world. I also think Vincent is great to start cause that leads to Sam who then leads you to the Wolfpack. But definitely I wouldn’t listen to freelancer storyline until you understand the general rules of the world. It can get kinda confusing.

Rachel Anderson

It’s a split between starting with Vincent and David they are basically your starter Pokémon

Jason

I think the freelancer story line makes sense to watch first, and the dream walker and deathwalker videos too, then work their way through the David audios and other wolves and Vincent audios so they can make sense of the inversion arc. That’s what I would recommend anyway :) hope that was helpful (though I couldn’t really think of a way to condense it very well since I don’t really see any of the audios as a stand-alone; they are all literally connected in someway it’s awesome)

EvieTi ***

like many other’s are saying, Vincent and David are good ones to start with. Avior’s works well separately while also bringing in a bit of world-building.

RozzySkiesAhead

Im a user who likes a curated list: netflix, spotify playlists, youtube albums, i have to listen to a full musical soundtrack if i remember a really good number; A collection of your early work like Asher and David, the android listener to add curiosity, add the himbo energy with earth bro, and another tsundere like my fire bae: i suggest recreating the introduction of your content to the listener and curating a playlist that reflects the growth of the channel. Take a look at the metrics that tracked channel activity from early videos and pick the videos surrounding major watch spikes. If you can compare that to videos that introduce a new dynamic and/or character, that will show off the variety and improve in quality along the way, which will keep a listener invested.

RozzySkiesAhead

Also: making some cute bundles like "In bed," for videos about sleep, "Date night," for romantic fantasies, ect. Those would be fun little posts on the community tab to show

Nicole

Thanks for asking this because I have no clue where to start lol. 😅

Sapphira Dae

I started with the elemental boys first 🤔 and then I got into wolf pack, then Gavin, then the empathy daemon, and now I’m on the dream walker/sleepwalker/other demons. I think that’s a good order?? 👀

ReaTheLaw

I tell my friends to listen my favorites particularly pointing out that I think Davey and the freelancer series are the best to start with. Then maybe add Vincent other werewolves and so on and so forth.

Empress Cheetara

I honestly started listening to ASMR last year. I happened upon a David video on YouTube. I liked it, so I went to you page and literally was 🤯. So instead of going from one storyline to another. I started from your very first video and worked my way to the most recent. I honestly couldn't stop listening and now I couldn't if I tried. 🥰 If I had to chooses, I would start with the Elemental Boys and progress from there.😁

Jo G

I think Freelancer series is a great introduction to the universe ^^ I personally started my journey with Lasko's non-canon video :D

Idoken27

Honestly I feel like you got 3 options you got the Freelancer and you introduced to the school the magic and all that then you got Vincent or David (and the other pack members along with Sam) for like outside the school experience Id say to also do Elliott and Avior but we still need the story to progress before I would personally suggest those two (ps Im so looking forward to those stories they are my two favorite atm)

Yuzik

I know that's an option but it also includes the livestreams.

phia

i started with Vincent just cause it came up on my recommended way back when. i think if i we’re to introduce anyone into the story line etc i would have them start probably with freelancer, just because it’s so integral to many stories and every story kinda connects into their plot? if that makes any sense :)

Sage

I’d start with the wolves (particularly David and Asher first then milo) until right before the vampire stuff then the vampires to tie in Sam’s storyline and the remaining wolves up until right before the games. The freelancers entire path and storylines there after. If you want I’d then do spooky week bc we basically know all the characters by then-and this story line isn’t important-next ending with the games. That’s the big one. With exception to Ivan’s story being vaguely brought up in the freelancers path the unempowered boys are pretty inconsequential to the other big plot line of Dahlia and it only matters if you watch them in order of their own individual paths or not

Sage

That’s only if you watch them series at a time I’d do a mix of empowered and unempowered especially with the freelancer’s stories bc that’s big and complicated with all the boys and everything that happens

Taelor Fowler

i started with Ash so i think starting there is good, but also starting with freelancers story at the same time would help new listeners with the multiple character development. honestly though i’d probably have to list all the videos in order of how they should go if i were to recommend it to someone. i’d give the list of videos of them to watch. obviously the Aaron and Ollie audios would be different line of videos to watch. and with the freelancer audios you’d have to mix the Ivan, Vincent, Sam, and Caelum audios because THOSE connect. basically you’d have to match each separate storyline to freelancers storyline because that’s the main one

koin

a friend of mine showed me your channel a few months ago! right around when the freelancer audios began! to be honest, i started from the very beginning with vincent and just listened to each audio in order after that! i prefer to just listen to each audio one after the other no matter the listener or boy, it helps me stay on track with all the plots !! id maybe direct them to the freelancer playlists first!! since that playlist is technically the one with the most lore, but id probably let them know about ivan and what he (used to be) is all about since his situation is resolved with the freelancer! if they want just to start with a vibe for characters rather than lore then maybe showcase the wolfboys!!!! its easy to figure out how everythings connected the more you listen to all the audios, in my opinion!

Leaf

i did too, and i dont regret it
