UPDATE: God I love Vega. We love a baddie that makes you think. He makes several points about the treatment of demons and I'm just like 👀💅🏽

undeniablyEmily

Vega is and has been entirely fascinating. His methods aren't right but the reasons are. I love that in a character. And to contrast it with another of his kind, in such a different position? It's so intriguing.

Chuff

As much as a Gavin simp I am, Vega is such a compelling character. A truly resident baddie with conviction. This is one interesting continuation of his story. To know that it was Solitaires who did the prison break, not shocking and I can't wait to hear someone from them soon. Goodness, this is so exciting! As always thanks for giving us quality content despite your busy schedule. ♥️♥️

Galleywinter

As a listener who knows what Vega's done versus what he's saying here to Warden, his lies run shockingly deep, and he offers them with such ease. The manipulation was just dripping so thick it was practically honey. And then I could practically *hear* the switch flip in his voice when the gaslighting started in hard and fast, trying to make it an us vs them for himself and the Warden vs the Department, and it was *gloriously* done. The characters like these are far from my favorite, but your audios like this are always a masterclass. Without having all the information (as Warden, theoretically, doesn't), it's so easy to miss. It's so easy to think he might mean it and really *has* been misunderstood, and that the Department is essentially subjugating its D(a)emon employees (and with the added layers of how they *are* being treated, that makes Vega's stance even more plausible and the manipulation that much more effective). This is just so delicately, *brilliantly* done. I hope Warden figures him out, if they haven't at least already put a few of the pieces in place already. Either way, this is going to be a wild ride of a story.

On the run with Vega LETS GOOOOOOOO! When he started talking about Warden having to change in order to fit in at the department tho? Immediate heart eyes. He just sounded almost sad about it? I like hearing him this way without the influence of the containment facility and it was unsurprising but still upsetting that the guards were abusive. Vega being a mother hen and making Warden feed tho. I love it.

*comment about how I'm always amazed and in awe of your content. Also thanks and all that.* ^^

Son of a bi—I've always liked baddies who make valid points. I also like how he refuses to assimilate. Screw mouth words. Telepathy is where it's at.

Vega stirs many conflicting feelings. I KNOW that he is manipulating the Warden, but that doesn't make some of his points wrong. What's the end game? So far there doesn't seem to be a greater cause here other than turning the Warden away from DUMP. And is he really that invested in them? Or is that just part of the manipulation? And why? Good lord this has me spinning. Some people are hoping the Warden sees throught the manipulation, and though I would love that for them, I think I also want to see how far the rabbit hole goes? Absolute bastards being soft for only one person is for sure something I can get behind. And a listener who isn't so obviously on the side of "good" would also be interesting. Also it must be wild having a conversation with a Demon who only communicates telepathically. Even for the Warden who has been around humans for a while. Lots of social cues and body language that will be completely missing. I imagine that last section where Vega is coaching the Warden through the taste happened solely in their minds.. so it would have been 2 demons watching him in total silence for the duration. I love how "other" that is - I imagine showing emotion and adopting human body language is something that demons have to train to do when they first come to elegy and take a physical form... I got derailed. Another incredible audio that has sparked my imagination. Bravo.

This may be my new favorite character x listener relationship yet... I love the potential this dynamic has in the worst way. Vega’s gaslighting is so tightly woven into what is actuality, it’s can be SO EASY to miss. I’ve listened to this audio so many times already, just breaking down every drop of poison that comes out of his mouth (.. well.. mind?) Do we think Warden knows that Vega is playing his cards with great and measured calculation, but also can see the underlying truth to his lies? Or does Warden grow to fall in deep into his metaphorical bear trap of a “it’s you and me versus the world” outlook. Vega is SUCH an intriguing character, his Warden as well. I can’t wait to see what moves Warden makes next. The pair has bumped their way up my most-anticipated storyline scale astronomically, especially after seeing this “caring” side of Vega. Wow. These villains be hitting MAD DIFFERENT lately🍿😳 Side note: the fact that Vega seems to cherish his individuality as a demon so much so that he will not speak vocally? That leaves so much room for the coolest creative freedom my little brain can run off giggling with. Thank you, Erik.♥️

Keara

Me the whole way through this audio 👀😯

Night Acolyte

Is this the listener villain arc? 👀 Vega is proving to be more complex with each audio, really looking forward to more. Fantastic work yet again!

SebCastellanYES

Ok this is like the third time I’ve listened to it and the fact that Vega suffered abuse at the hands of the enforcers at the containment facility has me feeling overprotective like WHO TF HURT MY SCARY BABY? Like I know they starved him and I’m sure there was a lot of verbal and mental abuse to go around and with Vega free he is more than capable of defending himself but HOW DARE THEY

Eleanor Curtis

Ok but we love the different demon perspective tho 👀 👀 this was so good !!!

ouchduke

From a Warden POV, do you think they were heartbroken to be blatantly confronted by someone who dislikes them simply for being a demon? They seem so trusting and optimistic it really broke my heart quq can’t wait for the next part

Lovely Deviant Alyssa

😍 I've been mulling over how to possibly express my love for this audio, since it's release. It's truly spectacular! I'm still at a loss for words, really. Vega has always piqued my curiosity, as much as I've consistently tried to... Tamp down that interest. Needless to say, those attempts of mine never succeeded. Vega is such an enthralling character. His actions have been deporable. But yet, there are these unavoidable glimpses, these moments when he'll say things... And it's hard to completely refute where he's coming from, if you look at things from a different perspective. There are certain times when... Dare I say, Vega has a point 😯 Vega's character is so skillfully layered and nuanced. I never know quite what to believe when it comes to him, and I love that. As his personal storyline has progressed, I've only grown more enamored, and equally wary of my own softening feelings toward the Big, Bad Sadism Demon himself. And no doubt, that emotional confliction is all part of the point 😉 If I were being entirely honest, part of me hopes that, perhaps underneath the manipulation and gaslighting... That maybe his intentions aren't all just self-serving means to an end. But with that said, I'm also aware of the fact that such a wish is likely just my fondness for Vega, actively getting the better of me and my better judgment! I always did have a soft spot for the more villainous and morally gray types 🙈😍 Thankfully, it's all fiction and for fun, so that is acceptable, lol. Whenever Vega speaks, it's done with this poetic eloquence. It has an unexpectedly soft, and almost intoxicating quality to it. Before long, I find myself swaying to the cadence of his words, lured in and fully focused on what's being said. And it's made all the more enticing by the simple fact that, we as listeners, should not feel at all bewitched by this particular demon. Gah! So good! ❤️ Another great showcase of characterization and voice acting, all around! Such fantastic work and amazing storytelling! I can't wait to hear more of the story between Vega and Warden. I look forward to all the twists and turns that are surely ahead! There's going to be a lot to unpack, from this moment forward. Ya' know, I never expected a comfort audio from Vega (or as close to "comfort" as he is capable of.) But I can't deny: During a week where I'm having a flare up with my chronic pain, being lulled by Vega, given gentle words, and reminders to not strain my already compromised energy levels... It is very relaxing. Whether I want to admit it, or not. What can I say? Vega... Intrigues me. I guess we'll see where that take things... In the long run. P.S. New favorite lines: "I may have to take a physical shape to exist here, in Elegy, but I don't have to abandon everything that I am just for them. Speaking in that manner is human. And I'm not. So I don't." "But covetous obsession does not love make."

MadnessInABox

Me, out loud: Vega! You can’t just steal humans, they’re not crisps! Also, I honestly empathize with Vega. He’s a sadism demon, what is he supposed to do? Do I fully condone/support what he did to Ivan and Baby, no. Nor would I ever supposed him hurting Caelum… I don’t know, it’s hard to hate him, it’s hard to see him as a bad guy 100%. Not with everything in mind… he’s such a layered character and just so well done. I love him, as much as I really shouldn’t, I do. And I can’t wait to hear more and learn more. He just speaks so gently to us. Not condescending or derogatory when he asks about how much of ourselves we’ve given up to fit in with humans, not when he’s talking about how much we fought, or how close we came to killing ourselves to fight for what we believed was right. None of that. It’s fascinating.

Teafairy

You made me laugh out loud with “Vega! You can’t just steal humans! They’re not crisps!” He can and did. I agree with everything you said. Vega is such an interesting character. I shouldn’t love him. Oops.
