Good grief I'm nervous to watch this but I know broaching these topics is so helpful and necessary although difficult, the thought of hearing Damien hurting again though, oof

Harley the Addict

Go Erik, give us the important topics and real life issues that aren't talked about enough or normalized as they should be 🌈

Anya

Awe 🥹 I haven’t listened yet but I know this one is gonna make me wanna hug them

Lukas Pukas

I AM. SCARED BUT EXCITED.

The “she didn’t seem to have a problem with it until it was her own kid” hit a little too close to home, Jesus that hurts

As someone who had supportive parents when coming out as a lesbian it’s saddening to know there are still people who do not get that type of support from their loved ones. Everyone deserves to be accepted for who they are, and to know some people aren’t, makes me very sad :(

cherry

this one hurt...

Deadish

Thank you for telling these stories, between this and Ollie’s last video, to hear something so similar to the struggles of the last year and a half in my personal family life has felt so validating

So happy that Damien has such an amazing support system to help him through this. My boy has been through too much 😓

ChocolateMama

Damien deserves the world. I’m glad he has Huxley 💛

As someone who also had an unsupportive mom, this hit close. First it was coming out to her as bisexual and being told I needed to make a decision because "going back and forth" was just fooling around and against god, then it was coming out as trans and being told that it was a phase, that the media influenced me to be this way, that I just "decided" to be a man, this that and the other. The worst point was being told that my entire family would never love me and her saying she wished she had sent me to a camp. She supports me now and the days of fighting and awful things said on both ends are over, but the things she said to me will stick with me forever. Here's to hoping Damien's mom comes to accept him and support him someday. I just wanna give him a big hug :)

Ahhhhh I missed him so much! And I glad we get more Freelancer storyline stuff (canon or not) cuz it’s definitely my fav and Damien’s so much happier now it’s honestly heart melting😭❤️ also his and Freelancer’s dynamic ( or chemistry in non-canon audios) is literally majestic it’s just so good😫❤️

grxy

i love this video very, very much. the dynamic that these two have is one of my favourites; platonic soulmates. they’re kind and gentle with eachother in ways that they can’t be with others. they can confide in eachother in ways that they can’t with others i just love them. and damien, trying to downplay it and compartmentalise it makes me sad. he and anyone in a similar situation deserves only good. he has got a support system, his friends (or chosen family as i call them), are so important and the key to everything for damien, is freelancer. the sincerity and how damien has grown as a person is absolutely beautiful i adore him so much. he and hux are going to be so happy together in their new home

I have been spiraling the past few days about how my family, especially my mom, will react whenever I decide to come out of the closet. This video, and the last one too, were very comforting ones to listen to and helped snap me out of my spiral. Thank you for these and helping me remember I'm not alone and I'm not the only one that goes through things like this

This cuts deep coming from a place of trying to come out as trans to the rest of my family. I figured since me being bisexual knocked my family for enough of a loop that they shifted to be more supportive, they might understand and be chill. Butttt instead I'm just watching my parents revert to a place of grasping at straws to explain away what, in their eyes, is the loss of 'their little girl;' from 'its just because you have trauma' to 'social media/friends told you you're trans' to even 'dysphoria doesn't mean you're trans.' With the supportive members of my family accidentally dropping my actual name instead of my deadname around the people I'm not out to more and more often, though, its time. And its encouraging to hear this kind of video carry a tone that someone else's hangups aren't going to slow them down from being actually happy. Found family is powerful, support systems are powerful, and its comforting to see things written and made like this that show that, while still acknowledging how much this shit sucks.

The growth in Damien is staggeringly beautiful, and the fact that he sees it in himself and isn’t too guarded to admit that is just as beautiful. I love the little D.A.M.N. family. They keep each other safe, supported, and unconditionally accepted for who they are with every little quirk or difference. They all come from such different experiences, but they find this genuine camaraderie in each other. I love that. My heart hurts for Dame’s relationship with his mom. That wall he felt go up must make him feel a little abandoned. I was so lucky when I came out as bisexual to my parents and told them I’d started dating my best friend, they just said, “Ok, I can see that. Where do you want to go for lunch?” And we all just continued on being family. But my (now) wife’s family had been struggling with her bisexuality for years. Her mom just wanted to ignore it. She would schedule family pictures and leave out my wife’s partner. When we got together my wife said “no more”. She decided she didn’t want to hide our ooey-gooey love eyes from anyone. And we held hands and called each other Babe, sat close to each other and talked about dates…. And it took years, but her mom and her brothers finally came around. They saw how happy we made each other. I truly hope Damien’s mom will reflect a little bit on that. Just like he said, if she just wants him to be happy, she’ll come around. And until then, I’ll be his supportive friend through the lens of the Freelancer. Snatching him up for hugs when he doesn’t see it coming. ♥️

I’m so sorry you went through so much pain and heartbreak just to be accepted for who you are. I’m not trans, but I am bi, and the comments about being indecisive or greedy always make my blood boil. We aren’t looking for “more”, we’re still just looking for “one”. I don’t know, that’s just my experience I guess. And who care if a person is looking for “more”. Hetero people look for more too. At any rate, it’s really peaceful being part of this community and fandom who supports each other. And I got you. 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I agree. It's comforting in a way to know that many of the people in this community understand and support one another. Thank much, homecifur👉👉
