From a purely logical perspective, Damascus steel is an odd choice for a crown. My knowledge of crown materials is admittedly limited to the British royal family but from what I remember my parents teaching me in high school, the main structure of crowns are generally made of gold, silver, or platinum. These metals are actually part of a category of metals known as “noble metals”, so named because of their near-universal usage in Crown Jewels. The reason for their popularity in Crown Jewels is largely due to their high resistance to corrosion. Damascus steel, by contrast, is more popular in sword smithing, particularly in Western Asia. It is favoured particularly due to its ability to be hard yet flexible while still maintaining its sharp edge. In fact, many modern high-end knives (including many from Japan) are still forged using Damascus steel. Damascus steel also has a distinctive yet unique pattern to every piece due to other metals used in the weld to strengthen the steel. This means that even if a piece is made my the same smithy, with the same materials, techniques, and tools, it is impossible to make an exact copy of a Damascus steel piece.

I don’t know if anyone has thought about it or brought it up as I’m new here, but after listening to this audio it made me think about the fact that since Lovely was turned by Vincent they are apart of the royal line (as this audio proves and assuming they want to be) that means they can take his last name, again assuming they want too which basically means they’re like…married, they’re basically married right?
