I love how Milo went from "He's my alpha, for fuck's sake. That alone makes him intimidating." to "how dare you impugn my cooking skills, sir. Prepare to die!" The information on how mating works for wolves and how two Empowered people in that mating bond feel each other's magic even without bridging was really interesting. Knowing that, I can see why David wanted to take the step of marriage. Angel doesn't have a core. While our favorite alpha's commitment is unshakeable, Angel isn't going to have the cultural reference or magical capabilities to really feel it the way he means it. David's not doing the expected thing by proposing... he's making damn sure his mate's culture is respected in their bond.

i laughed so hard at milo pointing out that they’re depriving the world of their wedding fashion by not getting married and sweetheart immediately retorting that they’ll just have to be the hottest shit at someone else’s wedding, what an incredible encapsulation of both of their personalities and their relationship dynamic within like five seconds

Milo said something that outlined quite a stark difference in his relationship with Sweetheart, and David and Ash with their mates. I've always thought about the little things that would be missing when an empowered gets with a non-empowered.. bridging being the biggie of course. Being able to feel the core of your partner too; and this audio expanded on that a little. Milo explained that when he says that Sweetheart is his mate, his core lights up, and their core responds. It's an instant reassurance that their relationship is solid. They could be stood across the room from eachother and they'd be able to feel eachother. David and Ash don't have that. I wonder if it's a lonely feeling, having their cores light up with no response. Their mates are basically walking through life blind to a lot of things because they simply can't perceive them. I wonder if the unempowered mates ever feel wooden when they hear their empowered friends talking about this kind of thing.. like they're mannequins amongst living people, knowing they'll never be able to fully understand or feel to the extent of those around them. Sorry this sparked a brain worm...

I feel like because each relationship is so different and nobody truly experiences love in the same way it is hard to compare or miss something that they haven't experienced. I think Erik has done such a wonderful job of showing that just because it is different doesn't mean it's any less beautiful
