"The only life here is other people. It's cold." That line really hits hard. It really paints a picture of what being there is like and how everyone must feel so isolated and lonely, casualties of the environment they're in. There's no joy or comfort, save for a tiny plant that Anton clings to, to the future and hope it represents. Even though there's other people there, everyone is fighting for someone or something while not sure what they're fighting against (except perhaps James) and they're focused on the battle, just trying to make it through each day. I just need Anton and James to pass each other in the hall or something, each taking notice of the dejected expression on the other, and just launching themselves in a warm hug. Because they both really need a hug. And they won't even have to exchange words, just straighten their shirts and continue on their way. And if they make it a daily thing from then on, then so be it. 🫂 Also, Anton is just delightful, from his accent to his demeanor. He speaks quietly but thoughtfully and comes across so genuine, like he's never told a lie in his entire life. Congratulations for once again making a character so easy to fall in love with.
