So excited for the balance storyline. Interested to see how a the two story lines ( the inversion time period which is a year earlier than the main storylines) are going to run into each other. My personal take is that Blake doesn't respect his friend very much. Love them? Sure. But it's the same way you can love a favorite item or game or book. He doesn't view them as a person, or rather he doesn't value their reaction to what he's doing very much. So long as they live and he can keep them. Hence: he does nor respect them. i mean, the BAs used to always come out mid month but since the shit hit the fan back in September that had the release scheduals for everything kinda fucked so the BAs started getting pushed further and further down the month, so i feel like since its tentatively slated to be released mid month means nature is healing so to speak lol

he DID try to go to the police, the first thing Elliot did when he got some of his senses about him was go into a department facility to get help, but its the day after The Inversion happened so all empowered law enforcement is tangled up in the fallout of that. and the Closeknit building is in the empowered part of town that unempowered humans cant get to without being psychically pushed away so he cant go to the nonmagic police either
