Elliot frames the deal as though it was our idea. It wasn't. Blake shoved us into it and clearly wasn't going to take no for an answer. Similar to how Kody rammed us through being bridged as FL. Sunshine doesn't have any control over the situation, hence them being constantly freaked out and wrestling Blake for *any* possible control. Constantly questioning him and stalling. It's pretty clear that if they had an actual choice, they would have had Elliot stay. To make it seem like a noble self sacrifice does Sunshine a disservice. Makes it seem on one level like they don't want rescue. And that does bother me. I'm probably reading too much into it. The very fact that Blake called Elliot Eli (a euphemism for God in the circles I grew up in) also goads me (in a good way tho. Like Blake is mocking him) but the analyst part of my brain sees Elliot as Blake's inverse. He also idolizes his partner and long time friend, but he's not possessive of them the way Blake is. Their tendencies already had been taken into account when they walked in there the first time.

Not Aaron saying "I got you" to his little brother 😭😭 That's always one of my favorite themes in so many audios, and this is no exception. I also adore how Aaron is including Smartass when he adds "We've got you." because he knows what kind of heart they have and is sure they'll love Elliot and want to help. Who wouldn't? 💞 Your voice acting is incredible. The amount of emotional damage you can inflict with a few lines is second to none. ❤️

These poor boys. I'm thinking back to Eli's sleep aid where he takes sunshine to the roof of his parent's house, and how he said that was a safe haven for him when he was young. Knowing a little more about what that home was like for him really adds a heartbreaking facet to that audio that Elliott didn't let on at the time. And Aaron, fuck. As a big brother myself his side of the story hit home so hard for me; my younger sibling and I have always been close thankfully but the feeling of responsibility, of having to hold a house together, of a desperate desire to escape but knowing there are people counting on you...I understand it. I feel so much for both of them. I love Elliott so much but I'm kind of satisfied to see him crumble under the weight of his quest a little; I feel like a lot of the time in stories like this where regular people are tasked with a great purpose, saving the world etc. we don't really get to see them completely freak out over their situation, like a regular person probably would. Seeing someone who isn't perfectly brave and strong all the time is really rewarding in it's own way, and makes me feel closer to Eli in a way I couldn't if he just powered through and pulled a heroic rescue on his own. Hearing him choke out the words "I need help" struck right at my core and reminded me of the times I have wanted to say the same thing (in less dire circumstances of course) and didn't, and ended up worse for it. OOF I am so amazed with the turns this story is taking and the depth you continue to craft your characters with. This whole arc has me by the throat and I'm beyond excited to see how thing progress from here!
