Personally, I fully believe that Darlin’ weren’t tranced into being bitten by Quinn when they were together. I think they haven’t asked Sam to do it cause he’s been very clear about how he feels having been turned. Darlin’ knows it’s something he most likely would not have been comfortable doing, so they didn’t. However, like Quinn brought up, their relationship was partly based around Darlin’s hurt and dark thoughts. Their relationship was really unhealthy, but they used those moments of pleasure and maybe even happiness to try and shut out the pain.

theres no evidence to suggest thats what a blood binding could do, at least from what we know of established Redactoverse rules. in the audio where its been explained, the magic seems to be limited to being able to track the person their bound to. and i know in other vamp lore thrall refers to someone under a vampires control, but here i think its more of a euphamism, so i doubt Quinn has any magical control to make Darlin do anything

I always knew Quinn would have the personality of a smug piece of shit, but goddamn the reality of him exceeded my expectations. When Quinn started talking about sloppy seconds 🤢 I could just imagine the wave of humiliation Darlin must have felt, having their darkest most vulnerable memories dragged out for their mate (and their alpha, and whatever department agents are present) to hear and for them to relive. I’m slightly nervous for the state of Darlin and Sam’s relationship now. Quinn is airing out EVERYTHING. It’s got to be anger-inducing and humiliating for Darlin. We’ve seen in the past how they question Sam after learning a bit about their past with Quinn, asking if he ‘thinks less’ of them because of it. Now he’s going to know it all, and I’m worried Darlin is going to pull away from Sam (because I don’t think Sam will, he seems to be the type to understand and want to help rather than be horrified) but I feel like Darlin might be worried Sam will see them in a whole other light (and perhaps that’s Quinn’s goal in this) and they’ll pull away, scared to face them 😣

A couple of things after listening and thinking about this. 1) Quinn saying he knows all about Sam and has been close for a while...how long has that MF been watching? 2) Quinn noticing Sam hasn't bit Darlin...now I could be wrong, but if I remember one of Vincent's earlier audios...is marking (biting) a way to to tell other vampires to back off? So the fact that Sam hasn't ( and with VERY good reason) done so with Darlin makes Quinn think Darlin is his? 3) while the whole Quinn describing his relationship with Darlin was horrible...why do I get the feeling its less to do with the act, but more to do with Quinn calling himself Darlin's safe place? Because in both BAs with Sam, this is something they both call each other....now Quinn has violated that "safety" Agh, looking forward to more videos tomorrow

Dammit Erik! I have been fully immersed invested in this world for years now, and thought there was no way could become more so. Yesterday, however, I started down the rabbit hole of the legal system on Elegy/ Terra and find myself only digging deeper and deeper. I had a full day of meetings yesterday talking about the healthcare laws and regulations I have to enforce compliance with in my hospitals... but I was also distracted as I was thinking about the legal reform that seems necessary in Elegy! I have some thoughts after the chat on the first video, and I feel a certain type of way now, but I have to go try to focus on our real world laws and regulations without too much distraction smh. I'm going to share some of those thoughts later (probably in more detail than anyone cares to read), but for now I'll just say fuck DUMP!

Darlin' has learned to cope with the aid of Sam but now turning back to being terrified that they're going to lose him and that he'll think less of them once Quinn tells his stories

Ok - another day of multi-tasking between my day job and my newly found infatuation with the laws in Dahlia (and presumably all of Elegy). Here is what I've gathered so far: Empowered person against another empowered person: In the case of Kody v. Freelancer, Kody was clearly wrong. Trying to think of another case that provides for a stronger precedent but coming up blank right now. Demon against unempowered person: In the case of Regulus v Listener and Vega v Ivan and Baby, the demon is clearly in the wrong and both were imprisoned when their crimes were identified. Demon against demon: Who are we kidding - DUMP doesn't care in the slightest about what demons are doing to each other. In the case of Vega v Gavin and Caellum, I am sure that DUMP didn't care about that part of the crime but was focused on the demon against human portion of the crime. Empowered person against unempowered person: Fuck the rights of the unempowered (unless the crime is perpetrated by a demon). In the case of Geordi v Cutie (which is often non-consensual), Cutie is clearly in the wrong BUT it is not seen as a crime. [This is now canon per yesterday's chat where Erik confirmed that it is not a crime for powers to be used by an empowered person against an unempowered person].
