This was so unnerving in the best way. The buildup (with the layers, your voice modulation—all of it) as Regulus demanded the listener to stop fighting and screaming to the silence after the combined "you made the wrong choice." Chilling.

so i made the mistake of listening to this while trying to clean my room….had to sit down bc my heart was beating so fast. wowowowowowowowowowow this was amazing. so the listener character is no longer the original. regulus remaking them so many times i cant even imagine how this will turn out

This has been the LONGEST. DAY. EVER! This dropped just as I was heading to work and I haven't had a long enough break to hide in my office and listen 😪 I still have 3 or 4 more hours of meetings before I can leave. This is TRUE torture, Erik. I know it's out there, but I have to wait!!!! It's going to be okay over the weekend, but I will have another hellish day on Monday. I live the Regulus storyline and haven't been able to stop thinking about it!! (Especially after RedWillow's response to my earlier post 😂). I am DYING a little inside.

What???!??? I can't believe what this sounds like... it's amazing!! So Regulus has done this repeatedly? This sounds like the experiments that A'Xerahn did to create vampires. How long has he been doing this? What happened to make Regulus fall and turn from an Empathy daemon to this? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ENDING??????? Is he going to kill this listener and move on to another human to "try again"??? I really thought they were going to be rescued and now I am sad...and going to have to listen again a couple times to try to understand everything that just happened.

I've listened a couple times now, and some things have popped out. When he says "they taught me that...over and over again", and "I lose you...sometimes it's to them..."., who is they? Is he taking about a steward, or is he talking about the Sovereigns themselves? When did Regulus coalesce and when did he "fall"? I feel I should have picked up on it not being Crux when he said "hold on human". It seemed a little cold for Crux. Plus, why would a door opening destabilize a magical ward? Also, what does Regulus mean when he says "there was a you before me but I lost the pieces"? Again, how old is Regulus? Who is the original "they"? He is talking about "you" and "they", but I can't tell if there is a separate entity and the listener, or if he is using both those words for the listener. Something traumatic clearly happened to Regulus to cause this. "When you're them, when you're you..." leads me to believe there is a distinction between "they" and "you". Who is the original "you"? I only created more questions than answers the more I listen. Random weird theory time: Is Regulus Hush's "brother"? Is Hush trying to stop Regulus, or to protect him?

Regulus was testing us to see if we would do what he wanted and give into him. He wants the Fight/Independence gone from his Listener. They never give into him. Ever. They always fail and try to escape. He wants them to give up. To let him in and control them completely. But they won't do it. He gets so close and they always fail at the end. 😓

(My friend explained this much better than I did) Crux is a d(a)emon (it’s never been said what kind though most suspect inchoate) who works for the Department with Camelopardalis as a memory modifier. He was first introduced in the audio where Ivan’s kidnapped victim was rescued and Cam explained everything to the person. At the very end Crux (who was erasing and modifying Ivan’s memories where Cam had the victim’s) tells Cam he’s not jealous of Cam’s job. To which Cam replies he’s not jealous of Crux’s job either So when Regulus said “there is no Crux” he was lying btw. Crux is a real canon d(a)emon Crux is also a friend of Gavin’s, and sometime after the Inversion they went to dinner and Crux put Gavin in contact with a counselor for some sort of therapy-type stuff, though that was more a passing mention than an appearance — But don’t confuse Crux for Circinus. They’re both voiced by Love Boldly. Circinus is an inchoate demon and was Avior’s steward who’s now on the Chorus and made a more recent appearance in voice than Crux so it’d be easy to get them confused

I liked this one. There was a story instead of him talking nonsense. And there was another person! (Albeit a fake person)… but there was a story and a dialogue and a direction. 🤩👍

I'm late, I'm relistening to Regulus audios.. but some important info is that while Crux is real, that was not Crux, that was Regulus imitating Crux. As RedWillow said, Regulus is testing us. He does that by pretending to be Crux coming to rescue us and so we try to go to Crux, but by doing so we fail Regulus' test. We never get rescued, because Crux isn't really there.
