Amazing Digital Circus Part 3

What Jax was referring to when he told his mom something he regrets is that he's trans (Gooseworx has confirmed that Jax is a closeted trans woman and she confirmed that Jax goes by he/him and she/her)

I don't know what it's like to be abused. I don't know what it's like to be conditioned into believing you can't trust anyone with your innermost self. But there is one thing about Jax's story that hits me to my core: If I make everyone hate me, it'll hurt me less when they leave. And it'll hurt *them* less when *I* leave. I've been there so many times. But it's never true. It only hurts me more. Jax spent this entire series hurting herself because she thought it was what she deserved. It wasn't. No one deserves to go out the way she did, but, sad as it is to say, it happened. And life goes on. But the people who matter will carry on for you. And maybe it is a little disappointing, especially when these characters realise they're not who they thought they were and that they can't return to a world they don't belong to, but that doesn't mean a fulfilling life is beyond reach. They'll make the most of their lives in the circus. We adapt. We adjust. We make room for the unexpected. That's life. Even in digital form, that's the human experience these folks deserve. This finale might not tie everything up in a neat little bow, but it does tell me that these silly cartoon clowns will be alright without us, and that's all I could ask for.

Loved the reaction! But to explain what Kinger meant with the “brain scans”, trust me it hit me like a bowling ball when I realized what he was saying. When Kinger brought up the brain scans, it meant that the main cast weren’t people who are trapped. When their real life counterparts put on the headsets that make them join the circus, those headsets were actually scanning their brains and putting their memories into files. Caine found those files and put them into the avatars. Which is why they remember everything prior to putting on the headsets, and would explain why their counterparts are still active in the real world. Caine’s first person, Scratch, was the dog avatar that was shown in the flashback with the file marked “Mike Dobby”, who was one of the workers at C&A.

I enjoyed the finale to the show. Although I would like to say something. A few hours after watching this episode, I actually felt the depression of what Jax had been through. Both his life and and in the circus.

So the thing that was mind blowing about the ending - is that this is actually NOT a "Sword Art Online" situation. The avatars that we see in the Digital Circus are NOT the original people. You see, a real human wanders into the abandoned C&A building. They put on the headset. The headscan performs a neuro brain scan. And then the real world person simply takes off the headset, leaves the building, and moves on with their life. While the brain scan is loaded into an avatar, and placed into the Digital Circus software. This is why the avatars remembers everything about their past lives, but not their names, and apparently not the names of any of their friends, either (As Kinger was unable to remember the real name of Queenie, even though that was his wife). So, basically, the characters we have been following for 9 episodes aren't the humans who are trapped in VR but still tied to physical bodies and just unable to "log off" their mind. They are actually virtual copies of those humans' identities. Still very much real. But that's where you see the realisations about the ending. Pomni, Ragatha, and the rest... Because they are actually just virtual copies of the original human's minds - they are NOT tied to any physical bodies in the real world. THEY ARE JUST FILES. And they absolutly have no way to "return to the real world", because they are NOT tied to the physical world bodies at all. While still retaining their real world memories from the brain scans. All they can do now is accept their virtual lives, and learn to enjoy it. Which, now that Caine has changed, and won't be torturing them anymore - we can hope they have a good virtual life. Meanwhile, the real world humans continue to live their own lives. But never met each other. Are NOT FRIENDS. And have zero idea what happened on the computer after they took the headset off.

42:13 and here... Apparently the scene of the void and the 3D model Caine - is the present. While the blackness, and the abstract red circle - is a flashback. I was very much confused about the mixture of past and present on my first viewing...
