"If you're ever a shrimp boat captain, that's the day I'm an astronaut!" One year later, Apollo 13 came out, and Lt. Dan kept his word. The end. Man, it's been so long since I watched Forrest Gump. It's so fun reliving it with you, Cody.

Michael Short

When he meets the president for the second time he sounds like the president he's going to meet is Trump. lol

Only halfway in but interesting what you say about the military. My dad had a rather unique position in Vietnam-intelligence, but he always stated people should do at least a year of military. Not for what it's about necessarly, but for how they do it. It trains/ and teaches you, basically.

And I honestly feel that Jenny's story is one of the most complicated parts of the movie. She's textbook SA victim, dating people who arne't good for her-because she doesn't feel good-but that doesn't justify all her actions. There's just a lot of really sad parts in her story

Heavenly Demon

This is probably a dumb question but what are you watching this on. I see the trivia thing coming up and that looks really cool.

Isabella

Sorry if this is rough to read but I feel I should say it as it is important to know. The thing that happened in Jenny's past is a common trope and I'm sure it happens in real life. The fact that her mom died is usually the reason for something like that and I'm sure was the reason that all happened to her as a kid. A substituion you can say.

Isabella

Weird how we never saw Jenny's sisters

I’m autistic myself he kind of does sound like he’s on the Autism Spencer but I have no idea

Riann

Watched this as a kid and never realized the horrible things that happened to Jenny or Forrest when they were younger, interesting now that I can watch this and completely understand Jenny’s story as an adult.

This movie is every definition of a classic. The soundtrack, character development, the settings, and the story telling is beautiful. Elvis moving hips at the time was considered dirty dancing. Most tv stations wouldnt show his body from the waist down because of his moves.
