The moments you needed to stop were the same ones when I felt the same need. This is the first time I've watched this beginning-to-end since I saw it in the theater on its release. The opening 30 minutes are so overwhelming, they were pretty much my only memory of it. I'd forgotten how powerful and emotional the whole story is. I felt every loss.

Kemi, at 1:33:00 in the film you ask why the soldiers were turning their jackets inside out. While looking closely I noticed they didn't turn their jackets inside out but were removing their outer gear harness which holds extra equipment. You'll notice only Uppham (the German/French translator and still green soldier) did not remove his additional pack and ran in with it. The other, more experienced soldiers, removed the additional weight so they would be able to move freely and quickly which would be advantageous during the next engagement except for I believe the Medic who would have need of his supplies for tending any wounded asap.
