If you've been following along with the eXpat Files episodes, you know it's been a time of spring cleaning in the Chen household. Simultaneously, my parents recently moved to a new house and gave me some boxes of some super old DVDs of mine. In this video, @joyofnapping and I look through these boxes and decide what needs to go and what's worthy of getting added to the DVD/Blu-Ray wall.

i’ve lived abroad for 8 years now, and a big part of the initial transition (for me) was figuring out how i can continue to collect personally meaningful movies when it makes no sense (for me) to travel with them from place to place. some of my favorite movies have been released since the time i left the US. “owning” them digitally doesn’t feel like enough, but it also feels silly to continue adding to the collection sitting at my mom’s house. i’d be interested to see if/how it shifts for you.

I miss the era of interesting and novel DVD packaging, the Lord of the Rings extended edition sets -- I'm still using the Argonath bookends from Fellowship -- and Freaks and Geeks yearbooks set were highlights for me.

Update: Thanks to the eagle-eyed viewers here and on youtube, I have now listed In-Lawfully Yours and 28 Days Later on eBay. One of those is almost 2x the price of the other, and it's not the one you'd think!
