UPDATE: THIS EVENT IS OVER NOW BUT YOU CAN LISTEN TO A RECORDING OF OUR POST-VIEWING CHAT RIGHT HERE.

Hi folks,

The day has arrived! TENET is now on home video and tonight we're going to watch it together and then discuss it. A little bit info on how this'll work:

You must have your own digital or physical copy of TENET for this to work

Everyone joins the Zoom link at 5pm pacific

At around 515pm Pacific, we will all start the movie together. If you arrive after this point, you will be out of sync with us!

After the movie ends at around 745, we will hang around and talk about the movie for a bit

Use the link above to join. If something goes wrong with the link, I will update this post with more information!

Please don't share the link with anyone else - this event is meant for DChen Patrons only.

You are welcome to comment on events happening in the movie, but any spoilers, trolling, or other unpleasantness will be met with removal from room/possible banning.

I am planning to record our conversation afterwards and release it for Patrons that couldn't make it, so please assume it will be taped.

Thanks and see you there!

PS If you're planning to join, could you give this post a like/comment? I just want to know how many people to expect. Thanks!

Just coming back to comment. Inspired by Nolan’s Oscar win - I watched Tenet again last night. Each time I watch it I love this movie more. So good! I am going to relisten to the bonus audio just for fun. How is Tenet holding up for you Dave?

Steve Dennis

It's available most common on demand places, for around $20 I think. Check justwatch.com :)

Patryk Prus

Have fun everyone! Didn't have a chance to watch yet, so probably shouldn't spend the first time reading both subtitles AND chat :)

Anthony Ramil

A little late for a school night on the east coast, but my students can deal with a sleepy teacher tomorrow. This is more important, lol

David Chen

Patryk: you're welcome to just launch the zoom, ignore it, and join for the after show!

Roy Rubin

It's going to be 3:15AM for me :/ I could try to join the after-party at 5:45AM, but that's kind of challenging too...

David Chen

Sorry Roy! Any time I chose was going to not work for someone. I’ll try to record the post-game chat and make it available.

Pixel-davis

I plan to be there! Looking forward to it. This will be my third time viewing it; looking forward to the post-watch chat. And I promise to firmly adhere to the no spoilers rule.

Roy Rubin

Oh yeah, I'm sure my timezone is not anywhere near your target audience 🙂 If you record the post-game chat I'll enjoy it for sure! I appreciate the thought!

Patryk Prus

My copy is also still in the mail :(

DMFB

I’m hoping to be there, but might not be able to stick around for all of it.

Lisa Hawthorne

Ugh I am working late and I am not happy! Have fun everyone! I really wish I was there 😭

Gary Yarbrough

That was a blast! Thanks Dave and everyone, was really fun to chat along and I personally feel less dumb after the discussion afterwards!

Alex Crumb

Thank you so much again for hosting! It felt like the closest thing to a “talk about it with friends when you walk out of the theater experience” that I’ve sorely missed.

Raymond Terry

That was a fun experience. I'm happy that I got to do a second watch in a communal Zoom based scenario like this. I actually plan on doing a 3rd watch tomorrow, which will be informed by the additional feedback from the post film session. Good stuff everybody!

Chad Lipscomb

New Patron here - I had a BLAST with everyone yesterday. This community is awesome and made my viewing 10x better. After 10+ years of listening to David Chen's voice I never once thought he would one day hear ME ineloquently give my take on a film. Thank you all!
