Am grateful I’m not the only one awake this late/early. There is something I find so cathartic about listening to both of y’all’s thoughts and feelings. Helps me feel a little less alone. Thank you so much. 💙

Just to get this thought out there, as I think it’s important for us to share these stories and remember them, so we never fall backwards to this extent again. This administration inspired the worst homophobic attack I’ve experienced in my life, where I feared for me and my husbands life. We had someone yell at our faces, in downtown Denver, at the city’s huge 4th of July event, ‘’that we f*ggots need to get the f*ck out of their country.’’ All while donning, of course, their MAGA hat. Inspired by the simple act of us holding each other’s hands. Forgiving these folks will be immensely difficult. The emotion of the coming day, and letting go of some of that anger, anxiety and fear, I’m sure will hit me hard. I have so much hope for the future, am praying it isn’t crushed. Anyway, thank you so much for listening.

Thank you for sharing. Personally i believe that you need to do what is best for your soul. To hold onto hatred, anger, pent up frustration what ever is your level - all of it is poison. With that said, is 'forgiving' truly Forgiveness, if the perpetrators never showed signs of, or acts contrite? I struggle as well with this, different space but for a similar energy being thrown upon us to bear. So from a stranger in these COVID times, i send you my hugs. And i am grateful for spaces like these, and voices like theirs who grant me some respite during these times. Where I can find people like yourself, no matter how brief the moments.

I am so, so sorry you went through that. While angry and hateful people will still exist, I am breathing easier thinking there will be at least a chance that someone in a federal office would care. I hope the coming years bring us all leave from the nonstop anxiety that was often sadly so justified. Adding my virtual hug to Mark’s!

Connor: I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Thank you for sharing. While nothing can make up for it, I hope this next administration can begin to bring some peace and healing that we all need.

Thank you for this. I've enjoyed all of these diary entries, and many of them have made me teary, but something about @joyofnapping's acknowledgment in this one that we now have a VP with a mixed name (like yours, like mine) really hit home for me.
