On (most) Sundays, I hop on Twitter spaces with Scott Mendelson and we run down the top 5 movies at the box office this weekend. I'm sharing it as an audio podcast here on my Patreon!

This week, we discuss the record-breaking nature of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

PATRONS: You can get this audio in your podcast app by going to patreon.com/davechen, going to the "My Membership" section, and copying and pasting the RSS link to your podcast app.

I am not a fan of the phrasing “Catch the bug”. Or diminishing the difference in this variant as compared to its predecessors which was not as contagious. Still a fan of Scott and this weekly touch point.

Scott is extremely intelligent but I probably don’t agree with about 30% of the way he phrases things :)

I love Scott and have been following him for years upon years. He hits an itch that no one does and that I have been following since CNN had Showbiz Today box office numbers on Tuesdays. I also agree with his macro point of Theatres being maligned prior to Omnicron. And his perspective is probably less from an intentional reductive attitude to more a protective one of the medium and space he loves dearly. It is just, here in NYC cases are in early 2020 pandemic state and we carry a large vaccination rate. But. My love for this bonus and Scott in particular is not diminished. He is a Mentat of Box Office and Movie History knowledge, and I love hearing these conversations every week.

Thanks Dave and Scott!
