Do we know that the diamonds are in the walls of Gene's house? I would have thought he would keep them in a separate location in case he couldn't return. But I also don't remember if the show specified where the diamonds are in the gene timeline.

The diamonds are revealed in season 5 and I believe it's indicated that they are in his house.

The watch box is designed for automatic watches. Automatic watches have a mechanism in them that winds the watch with the movement of the human body, if you don't wear the watch it will stop and the time and date will have to be reset, the watch box moving the watches simulates the necessary movement for the mechanism and keeps the watch going (necessary if you have multiple automatic watches, assuming you don't want to keep setting them every time you wear one).

I kind of wonder if someone making the show is super into watches, considering Jessie's gift to Walt for his birthday was an expensive watch. Also, when Gene comes home and puts the watches on the table, time is literally running out on them because the mechanism is no longer being moved.

for what it's worth Dave, apparently the German dub in the last episode has the phone booth conversation at a louder volume, so that + lip readers who were able to read what Saul was saying were able to decipher what he said, and it was evident that he was talking to Kim. this week's ep confirmed that the info was accurate, though we obviously only got bits of one side of the conversation.

Dave, I had roll up windows in my last 2 carsand I do miss a couple aspects of them now that they’re gone, such as being able to crack the window at the precise amount I want and beingw able to roll them up without having to turn the car back on when driveway listening to the end of a podcast that has captured my attention like this one.
