Patrons,

I'm experimenting with the idea of doing more live broadcasts on YouTube/Twitch and this podcast episode is the latest result. In this bonus audio, I am joined by Peter Sciretta from Ordinary Adventures and Chris Rudd from Movies Are Therapy to talk about some of the stuff that went down this week, including:

Mondo shuts down its poster division

Tiktok's CEO testifies in Congress

Non-spoilery thoughts on John Wick Chapter 4

You can watch the broadcast on YouTube as well. Thanks, as always, for your support!

PATRONS: You can get this audio in your podcast app by going to patreon.com/davechen, going to the "My Membership" section, and copying and pasting the RSS link to your podcast app.

Song Notes by David Pots

1) love this format & idea! 2) Dave for Ecamm Live – assuming you're recording in 4k, curious what camera and USB/HDMI adapter you're you using? I recently picked up the CamLink 4k, but get grain using my Sony ZV1... wondering if it's the ZV1, or (hopefully not) my M2 MBP, the CamLink.

Specifically, I get grain when recording to my MBP in 4k mode. Horrible green dotty grain that basically ruins the video. 4k works fine when recording to SD card, and likewise recording to my MBP in 1080 works fine. Not looking for tech support just providing the deets in case it informs my question. Thanks again!

David: I use an Elgato Facecam with an Aputure LightDome. If you're getting grain, here are questions I'd ask: -What is your ISO on your camera? -What are you using to light the subject? Is it sufficiently bright?

Thanks Dave! Don't know ISO off top of my head, but definitely tried adjusting that without luck. The grain I'm getting I daresay is more like digital artifacts, symptomatic (of what I've read) of a poor HDMI connection. Tried replacing with a few other cables without luck. I'll keep at it! Thanks again.

Could be a camlink issue too. In the past i've used an ATEM mini. But I literally got the Elgato FAcecam for this very reason: I'm tired of dealing with digital camera interfaces and all the problems that come with them.
