Dave on Dave is an ongoing series in which David Cho and David Chen gather together to discuss life and work. Also, usually David Cho has some harsh words to say about David Chen's stuff!

This is the podcast version of our YouTube livestream (which you can watch here). In this episode, we discuss David Chen's insatiable desire to be Tiktok famous, Poppi soda vs. Ollipop, why David is really excited about his Elgato Green Screen XL, and the power of podcast merch.

DC: It’s been a complete game changer for me. DC: What game?!?

I am growing concerned that Dave will leave me to marry the green screen.

Dave, I'm guessing you haven't yet watched Fateful Findings as your punishment for losing the summer movie wager, but in that movie Neil Breen has a ridiculous amount of laptop computers on his desk. After this revelation about all your MacBooks, I'm guessing when you watch that movie you are going to feel more seen than you did when you watched Everything, Everywhere, All At Once lol

I foresee a feedback loop of many weeks of people finding out about Naked Attraction and freaking out and writing in and the cycle continues

What about hats for merch that just say "Chenhead" (or is it "Chen head"?) Or Chenthusiast shirts or something?

LOL I'm so fascinated by Dave's at-home frictionless content creating machine and this may have added more insight to another shocking detail from his ways of working: those weekly screen time stats.

Has nobody called it "MerChendise" yet? I am disappointed in you all!

I don't totally understand David Cho's disdain for Tiktok -- my #1 professional musician guilt right now is that I'm bad at Tiktok as it's by far the best way to reach new fans these days. What's the plan to reach a lot of new people who might be interested in the Dave Cheniverse if not Tiktok? And I'm team green screen. As a person who loves workflow improvements and has instruments in every room "just in case", I became very defensive listening to this episode so maybe I need to do some soul searching there.

As an audio listener I have to say, I love the visual hijinks (green screen, the Poppy drink, etc). Dave Chen - this is a feature, not a bug.

Hopefully this works - see some Chenpiration! (Technically Chospired)
