Hey Patrons,

I'm at the Sundance film festival this week and continuing to record my thoughts on what I'm watching.

In this diary I discuss:

Freaky Tales

Didi

It's What's Inside

Sasquatch Sunset

Handling The Undead

Love Lies Bleeding

the coughing fit is such a great Dave Chen story to fit into the pantheon of Dave Chen stories

Such a bummer that It's What's Inside was just sold to Netflix, meaning it will never be seen in theaters outside of Sundance. I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds like something which would be great to see in a theater.

100% agreed. But also, for the filmmakers, this is the best case scenario from a financial pov. The movie has no stars and I don’t think it would do well in theaters

Stranger2Reality

Yeah, I'm glad they got such a big payday, but I always worry about actually good movies going to Netflix and then just vanishing there among their avalanche of "content". I wish Netflix would let more of these types of films actually have a short theatrical run in addition to just being unceremoniously dumped on their servers. Hopefully the word of mouth will be as good as you're saying and it will pick up steam there.

It will also be at sxsw and other fests and will do well there
