Thanks for this. I spent 24 years in the military and have been dealing with chronic severe pain for at least 15 years. I can't remember the last time I cried. I just can't. My box is so full, I'm afraid to open it. Fortunately, I'm no danger to anyone else. I turn my aggression inward on myself. It is hard to resist or reverse the indoctrination we go through. Hearing this helps me to work harder to be less closed off. The military has finally started to get it together. Male military members have one of the highest suicide rates of any other demographic. Military healthcare facilities now have mental health professionals on staff and members are encouraged to use them. They even have counselors that have security clearances so they can talk about anything.
